Stay away

Glancing at the caller ID, Zichen picked up the phone and answered it. "Hello, youngest miss. I wonder what could I be of help to you when it's this late?" Zichen greeted the other line.

Yiqian knew Zichen would gloat over how she called him first. Yet, she frowned even more when she heard his mocking greeting. "Brother Chen, you know we need to talk."

Hearing how Yiqian wanted to talk, Zichen smirked. "Really? I think our families have settled what needs to settled four years ago."

Though frustrated, Yiqian tried to compromise with Zichen. "Brother Chen, just meet me at an address I'll send to you. You know we have to talk about you and my sister. I'll wait for you." Yiqian hung up the phone after saying her piece.

At the end, Zichen can only chuckle on how the two sisters can boss him around. Whether it was five years before or five years after.

Before calling Zichen, Yiqian made sure her sister is fast asleep. Now, she can't believe she's meeting him for this. Minutes later, Yiqian's agonizing wait ended when Zichen arrived.

As soon as he entered, Zichen decided to start his taunting. "So, what could have the great little princess of the Capital called me here for?"

Yiqian was greatly annoyed by Zichen. But she knew she had to hold back. She needed to say one thing tonight. "I know you might have been surprised to meet my sister today. Thus, your attitude towards her. I understand that but please stay away from her in the future." Yiqian asked.

Irked at what Yiqian is asking of him, Zichen asked Yiqian back. "And can you give me a reason why I can't meet her?"

"You know nothing good comes out of you being together!"

"You have no right to tell me who can I meet or who I can't meet, Yiqian. I can meet her if I want to." Zichen sneered.

Seeing how Zichen is refusing to acknowledge her request, Yiqian had no choice but to remind him of the past. "You know how bad everything ended. I just don't want Yiyang jiejie to be reminded of everything again."

Without giving too much meaning to Yiqian's words, Zichen was the one to remind Yiqian now. "Oh youngest miss, you shouldn't worry about your sister being reminded of the past. She met me today as if it's her first time meeting me. And remember how she hasn't shown herself to her own kids ever since she gave birth to them? I do think your beloved sister forgot everything well. It's just you who can't move on and keeps on staying in the past. I suggest you stop meeting my children as a first step."

Surprised at how Zichen knew she had been watching the twins grow up and constantly meeting them in the kindergarten, Yiqian can only make up an excuse. "Of course, I can't trust you enough after all." Yiqian spatted.

Zichen can't help but find the situation amusing. "Youngest miss, you can't trust me? Should I be thankful? Their own mother and grandparents didn't even mind who were raising the kids and how they were raised. I don't think it was your place to check."
