Chapter Nine

Doyin's mind drifted to the mysterious guy she had seen at school the other day. She had only caught a glimpse of him, but she couldn't get him out of her head. She wondered who he was and what he was like. Was he as interesting and intelligent as she hoped? She sighed, knowing that she would probably never find out.

As she closed her eyes, she couldn't help but daydream about meeting him and having a magical connection.Desola and monife came in asking what she was thinking about. "What are you thinking about", said monife."Nothing!" Doyin said quickly, as Monife and Desola came into the room. She didn't want them to know that she was thinking about a boy. She didn't want them to think she was silly or immature.

"You look deep in thought," Monife said, looking at Doyin curiously. "Everything okay?"

Doyin nodded, not wanting to say anything. She wasn't sure she could explain her thoughts, even if she wanted to."Wanna play a game?" Monife asked, changing the subject.

"Sure," Doyin replied, grateful for the distraction.

"How about a game of charades?" Desola suggested.

"That sounds like fun!" Monife said, clapping her hands. "Let's get started!"

They took turns acting out different things, and they laughed as they guessed what each other was portraying. It was the perfect way to spend an evening, and Doyin found herself forgetting about the mysterious boy she had seen.

As the night wore on, they decided to try a game of truth or dare. Doyin was a bit nervous, not sure what kind of questions monife would ask. But she was determined to be brave and play along.

"Okay, Doyin," Monife said, looking at her mischievously. "Doyin," Monife said, turning to her. "Truth or dare?"

Doyin smiled. "I'll take truth."

Monife considered her question for a moment, trying to come up with something interesting. "Okay," she said finally. "If you could be any animal, what would you be?"

Doyin laughed. "A sloth!" she said without hesitation. "They're so chill. They just hang around all day."

Monife and the others laughed. "That's so you!" Monife said."Okay, my turn," Doyin said, looking around the room. Her eyes landed on Desola. "Truth or dare, Desola?"

Desola didn't hesitate. "Dare!" she said, a grin spreading across her face.

Doyin smiled mischievously. "I dare you to... eat a spoonful of mustard!"

Desola's smile disappeared. "What?!" she exclaimed. "That's gross!"

Monife and the others laughed. "You have to do it," Monife said.Reluctantly, Desola got up and went to the kitchen. She opened the fridge and pulled out a jar of mustard. She opened it, and the pungent smell filled the room.

"Go on, Desola," Doyin urged. "You can do it!"

Desola took a deep breath, and then dipped a spoon into the mustard. She brought the spoon to her mouth and hesitated. But then, with a grimace, she forced herself to eat the spoonful of mustard.

The others were in hysterics as Desola ran to the sink to wash her mouth out. It was monife's turn , doyin asked if she is going for truth or dare. Monife thought for a moment, and then said, "I'll go with dare."

"Okay," Doyin said, a mischievous grin on her face. "I dare you to... sing the national anthem in the style of a heavy metal rocker!"

Monife's eyes went wide. "What?!" she exclaimed. "You can't be serious!"

Doyin nodded. "I am serious," she said. "The rules are the rules. You have to do it, or take a penalty."

Monife looked at the others, who were all eager to see her perform.Taking a deep breath, Monife stood up and cleared her throat. She closed her eyes and began to sing, putting on a fierce expression and belting out the words in a growling voice. She thrashed around, making wild gestures with her arms and stomping her feet. The others were in stitches, laughing so hard they could barely breathe.

Finally, Monife finished, and collapsed back into her chair, panting. "That was the most ridiculous thing I've ever done!" she said, laughing.

"It was awesome!" Doyin said. "I give you a 10 out of 10 for effort!".the game ended. Everyone gathered around the TV and got comfortable. Monife put on the latest Nollywood film, and they all settled in to watch. As the movie played, they laughed, gasped, and occasionally groaned at the dramatic scenes. They ate snacks and talked about the plot twists and turns, enjoying the experience of watching a movie together.

After the movie ended, they all felt relaxed and content. It had been a fun night, filled with laughter and excitement.

"That was great!" Doyin said, turning to the others. "I and monife wants to have a private talk", said desola as they went outside to desola's room.As Doyin thought about going back to school, she felt a sense of sadness and dread. She loved her family also as monife and the thought of leaving them made her heart sink. She knew that she would miss them all so much, and she didn't want to say goodbye.

Doyin sat down on her bed and looked around her room, taking in all the familiar sights and smells. She thought about all the memories she had made in this room, and she felt a wave of nostalgia wash over her. She knew that things would never be the same once she left.

Just then, there was a knock on Doyin's door. She jumped, startled by the sound. "Come in," she called out.

The door opened and her mother stepped into the room. "Hey, sweetie," she said. "What are you doing?"

Doyin shrugged. "Just thinking about school," she said, feeling a lump forming in her throat.

Her mother sat down next to her on the bed. "I know it's hard," she said gently. "But you'll be okay. Doyin's mother put her arm around her. "Remember, you can always call us," she said. "We'll be just a phone call away."

Doyin nodded, knowing that her mother was right. "I know," she said. "It's just that I'll miss you guys so much."

Her mother smiled and gave her a hug. "We'll miss you too, sweetie," she said. "But you'll have a great time at school, and we'll be here when you come home."

Doyin nodded, feeling a little better.

The room was quiet, the only sound the ticking of the clock on the wall. Lolu, Hermonie, and Jayson sat in silence, each lost in their own thoughts. They had all had such a wonderful holiday together, and now it was coming to an end. The thought of returning to school made them all feel a little sad.

"I' really wish the holiday isn't ending soon," Lolu finally said, breaking the silence.
