1- quest and teacher

Heya! I'm back with a new chapter!

I'll be using some characters and lines from different Manga, manhwa and animes.

So without wasting anymore time, lets get into it!

"Who's next" hiroki asked.

The 4 boys were stunned at the site of their group's strongest fighter's unconscious form.

" aa-aaaAAAAAHHHH!!!" One of them shouted and rushed towards hiroki who in turn took a boxing stance.

He readied his left arm to throw a hit which the other boy saw and raised his right arm to block.

But the next moment hiroki's right leg shot up and impacted with the guy's jaw, knocking him out.

"Dumbass. Even if my body is no longer how it used to be, but I still used to be the strongest." Hiroki said balancing himself from the roundhouse he landed.

"B-bastard... DON'T GET COCKY!!!" Another one yelled as he and the other two charged hiroki.

Hiroki prepared himself to meet their charge but felt a wave of excruciating pain flood his body causing him to lose focus.

Looking at the staggering boy, the three did not stop their charge trying to take advantage of the battered boy's state.

But they underestimated hiroki's determination as he ducked under the first guy's punch and landed a hook in his side then punched him straight in the face causing black spots to appear in his vision as he stumbled back.

The second guy tried to grab hiroki who instead of dodging closed the gap in between them and grabbed the front of his shirt, then using his weight he threw him over his shoulder and slammed him into the the third guy.

The 2 were out like a light from banging each other's skull. The system showed that there's only one left.

The last guy had gathered his barings and looked at hiroki. He was holding his right side due to the effect of the hook.

Hiroki's condition was much worse though. He had countless bruises, a broken nose,a few cracked ribs and a broken one too.

Hiroki's vision was swimming and his breathing was becoming more labored, but he refused to fall.

Hiroki began walking towards the last guy. His walk became a jog and then a full on sprint.

The guy readied himself to block the the black haired teens attack but suddenly.

Hiroki's body shifted forward and by placing his arms on the ground he lifted his legs and landed a devastating kick to the boy's head, taking him down too.

Hiroki read through the notifications as he slumped to the ground and rested his back on the wall.

"Status?" Hiroki asked but before he could ponder on it, the screen in front of him changed.

Hiroki's eyes drifted towards his stats then at the tokens.

His hand shakily rose up to touch the question mark next to the enchantment token but soon lost strength and accidentally clicked the one next to 'Rejuvenation token'.

A smaller window appeared beside the status window.

[Rejuvenation token: upon usage heals all of player's injuries and restores their stamina, bringing them back to their peak condition.]

Hiroki's eyes widen at the description, he quickly said.

"Use Rejuvenation token"

At his command, the token's count dropped from 1 to 0.

The moment the number changed, hiroki felt a wave of energy fill his body.

the broken ribs and nose had been fixed and and even the injuries from previous few days had also disappeared.

He was back on his feet the next instant, feeling his body to check if what he felt was real.

It felt unreal but he didn't have enough time to ponder on it as he heard another Ding.

"Credits? Oh right! I also got those after completing the quest" hiroki's eyes drifted towards his status window and started reading the description of the tokens.

[Enchantment token: Allows user to increase their stats in exchange of tokens. These are divided in 3 categories.

Common(Green): increases the selected stat by 0.5 points

Uncommon(blue): increases the selected stat by 1 point

Rare(purple): increases the selected stat by 5 points]

"So their like stat points one gets after leveling up in a video game. But why is the gap between uncommon and rare so huge?"

Hiroki thought as he clicked on the second one.

[Experience token: upon usage these tokens turn into skill experience. These are divided in 3 categories.

Common(Green): increases the skill exp by 10 points

Uncommon(blue): increases the selected stat by 100 point

Rare(purple): increases the selected stat by 1000 points]

"These are like those proficiency potions you can get in cooking games to make your culinary skills better. Next"

[Awakening token: these tokens are the rarest to obtain but they can be used to awaken one's potential and obtain exclusive traits]

"So like, they're used to unlock hidden specialities of the Character like bloodline or genetically mutated abilities. I hope it won't unlock some weird disease I got from that whore."

Hiroki thought as a dark grimace appeared on his face.

"God knows how many men she slept with behind dad's back."

Focusing on what's in front of him, hiroki clicked on the 4th token's question mark icon.

[Fortune token: grants you the opportunity to spin the roulette. If you're lucky then you'll have the opportunity to obtain skills, tokens, items, traits and many more!]

"It's a goddamned gacha. Would i be considered a gambler if I spend what I earned on a roulette wheel in a magical system?"

Hiroki didn't ponder on the thought much and clicked on final question mark.

"I have already seen the description of Rejuvenation token so this must be the last one."

[Credits: these are the system currency that can be used to buy tokens or items from the store]

"this thing also has a store? Neat!"

Hiroki exclaimed but then froze as he heard groans from around him.

His eyes drifted towards the noise and saw the five he knocked out were beginning to regain consciousness.

"And that's my que"

Hiroki thought as he picked his bag and peaced out of the alley.

He entered the school again knowing that there won't be anyone in the school so he could experiment with his system.

"I feel like a main character right now. Haha!"

Hiroki joked to himself as he looked at the screen then, he picked up a desk and lifted it above his head with some difficulty.

Then he put it down and clicked on the [+] icon next to STR.

After putting 1 point he grabbed the desk again, picked it and lifted it up, but this time without any difficulty.

"The increment in my physical prowess may not look that big but for a normal person it would take at least a month to reach this level."

Hiroki thought in astonishment. His thoughts were cut short as he heard a notification.

"So I can increase my stats by normal means too. Then it would be better to preserve these tokens for future. They'll be useful when normal physical training won't be effective anymore."

He thought as his eyes glanced at the Fortune token. He sighed then said.

"Use Fortune token"

As he said that, the screen changed and a giant colorful wheel appeared and started spinning. It had a glowing 'stop' at the bottom of the screen.

Hiroki was mesmerized by the myriad of colors, it was beautiful.

Hiroki shook his head and focused. After a couple of seconds he pressed the stop button as the wheel began to slow and then stopped.

The needle at the top landed on a purple colored area on the wheel. Suddenly the screen gave the effect of a confetti being used, scaring the living shit out of him.

"GAAAHH!!! I ALMOST HAD A HEART ATTACK THERE!!!"

Hiroki exclaimed, holding his chest while breathing heavily.

He looked at the prompt and his eyes widen.

"I got appraisal! This will make things easier. I can use it to gouge my opponent's level while they remain clueless about my strength."

Hiroki was over the moon, which was weird. He didn't feel any kind of emotions since the day he found the truth, but now he can express them again, it felt weird.

It wasn't like he didn't have emotions, it was just that he couldn't express them.

Suddenly hiroki's phone vibrated. He took it out to see it was a message from kaede.

*hiroki,Where are you?*

He looked at it then looked at the time. It was getting late so he prepared himself to return home. But before that.

"Mind's gaze."

Hiroki mentally commanded as he stared at the desk in front of him.

Hiroki commanded as the screen shifted to a pitch black window, only two words written in the middle.

"Quite straight forward huh."

Hiroki thought as he clicked on the [buy] option. As soon as he did so, the screen was filled with different kinds of skills, tokens, items,potions and many other things.

"Holy cow! That's a lot. But they're to damn expensive. Well, I'll comeback when I have more credits."

Hiroki thought as he began walking out of the school.

On his way, hiroki used the mind's gaze on the people walking by, increasing his proficiency.

After sometime time he finally reached home and entered.

Suddenly his instincts kicked in as he dodged a incoming slap and using the moment, launched a roundhouse at the attacker only to stop the kick midair.

It was kaede who tried to slap him. He put leg back on ground and said in a cold tone while removing his shoes.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Kaede shivered a bit then with a angered look on her face, yelled.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN YOUNG MAN, IT HAS BEEN MORE THAN 4 HOURS SINCE YOUR SCHOOL ENDED!!! YOU DIDN'T EVEN PICK UP THE PHONE OR REPLIED TO MY MESSAGE, I WAS SO WORRIED!!!!"

"Sure you were."

Hiroki said in a sarcastic tone and walked upstairs, ignoring the yelling the woman.

He entered his room and closed the door shut. He then laid on the bed and then said.

Hiroki's grin was wide enough to split his face in half. He could get stat skills as well, and from the effects they provide he could easily turn that bastard into paste.

Hiroki was in his thoughts when he heard banging on his door.

"GET OUT HERE YOU FUCKING BRAT, HOW DARE YOU HURT MOM!!!!"

He heard kanoko shrieking on the other side and thought she was perfect to test out his new skill.

He got up and walked toward the door and activated [marble shell] then opened the it.

As soon as the gate opened, a fist came swishing toward his face.

Kanoko had a vicious grin on her face. But instead of meeting soft skin, her fist collided with hard stone.

A sickening crunch sounded as kanoko shrieked and fell to her knees, clutching her broken hand. tears streaming down her face.

" AAA-AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! M-MY HAND!!!! MY FUCKING HAND!!!!"

Hiroki's gaze fell on the kneeling form of the bitch that's been abusing him for months.

He looked at her for a few minutes then closed the door. Instead of feeling good or happy, all he felt was disgust.

"I need to get out of this place. Let's see if I can exchange credits for money."

"Damnation!"

Hiroki cursed but suddenly staggered, a feeling of weakness washed over him. Due to the whole ordeal, hiroki forgot to turn of [marble shell].

"Can it get any worse?"

As soon as the thought crossed his mind, he heard a grumble coming from his stomach.

This was expected since he didn't eat anything since previous evening.

Hiroki fell on his bed, all the strength in his body fading.

"After what just happened, I don't think I'll be able to get anything to ea-"

Hiroki suddenly sat up and opened the system store. A smile appeared on his face.

"I knew it. It's a store so it would have consumables as well."

Hiroki bought the item as it appeared in his hand, as soon as the dish appeared, the room was filled with a Devine aroma.

Hiroki took the spoon and scooped out some rice and curry. The moment he placed it in his mouth, an explosion of Devine flavor flooded his brain.

"This is the most delicious thing I have ever eaten in my whole life. Whoever this shikshim was, he deserved the title of a legend."

In only a few minutes the plate was empty, hiroki laid on the bed, a content smile plastered on his face.

He gazed as the plate and spoon turned into particles of light and disappeared the same way it appeared.

He turned off the lights and went to sleep.

Hiroki's eyes flew open, he sat up and looked around the room then at the notification.

"So it wasn't a dream. I'm glad."

Hiroki let out a sigh of relief then looked at the notification.

Hiroki looked at the screen with a poker face then sighed. He was the one who agreed to this.

He stood up but felt something weird. He saw that his skin had became much paler and smoother.

Then the stench came, making him want to puke. His body smells like it's been inside a septic tank.

He quickly left and after removing his clothes, quickly took a cold shower. He noticed a black Tarr like substance on his body,producing the stench.

After washing up, hiroki walked out and glanced at the mirror revealing something shocking.

His once Gaunt and malnourished body now had a lean build, the dark circles under his eyes disappeared and his facial features looked more pronounced (imagine Daniel park after one month training arc but with longer hair.)

Hiroki didn't ponder on it much thinking it was the effect of the meal he had last night.

"So it wasn't called 'body nourishing' for no reason."
