Lord of the Celestial Throne

His fate was predetermined: fight, defend, and perish with the stars, a mere cog in the great machinery of creation. But something within him resisted this cruel fate. A seed of defiance sprouted in his heart, whispering of freedom. He sought a way to transcend the cosmic chains—to escape, to defy destiny, to seize freedom at any cost. As a mortal, he felt the agony of watching his loved ones wither and die, powerless to stop the decay of time. He wept for children, lovers, friends. As an emperor, he conquered kingdoms and wielded unimaginable power, only to be betrayed by those he trusted most, dragged from his throne, and executed in shame. As a beggar, he wandered the streets, starving and shivering under the cold gaze of uncaring gods. As a villain, he became the monster in stories told to frighten children—burning cities, drowning nations in blood, only to be hunted and killed by the heroes of those same tales. As a saint, he gave everything—his wealth, his strength, his life—to others, only to discover that gratitude was fleeting and the world did not remember the sacrifices of the righteous. But, Every failure, every death, every betrayal—they were nothing but steps on a long, infinite path. And the path had only one direction: up, through the layers of existence, through the fabric of reality itself. No prison could contain him. No curse could hold him. His heart whispered one thing to him, a truth carved into his soul:Move forward. Always forward. Because he was Li Shenrong—the Lord of the Celestial Throne.

Slaughter the Royal Guard.

Halt your steps!" Suddenly a loud shout rang out. A man clad in blue armour was approaching Li Shenrong from afar, with few people behind him with similar attire.

"Look, that's Royal Guard Du with his subordinates. He came to save his younger brother." Many people saw Royal Guard Du arriving with an arrogant bearing. To some people from the capital, it was their first time seeing Royal guards. As the Royal guard Du approached with an aura of Peak physic foundation realm, many people shrunk their head in fear.

Royal guard Du and his subordinates looked at Li Shenrong with killing intent in their eyes.

"Who are you? How dare you lay your hand on the Guard captain. Are you trying to revolt?

Release him at once!" Royal Guard Du spoke arrogantly as he looked down on Li Shenrong.

"This kid is in trouble for sure. Since one of the  Royal guard arrived, there's no escaping." Spectators who were watching the scene whispered to one another.

Seeing his older brother arriving, the guard captain felt relieved. He laughed sinisterly and shouted. "Release me, or else you won't be able to leave the capital alive.

Brother, kill him. He is with the traitor and wants to rebel." The captain said.

Li Shenrong laughed, he was amused by their arrogance.

He didn't speak but grabbed one of the arms of the captain and pulled. Li Shenrong viciously tore away his arm and threw it away.

The guard captain screamed miserably. He couldn't believe that Li Shenrong would dare to tear apart his arm in-front of his older brother.

"You!" Seeing this, Royal Guard Du scowled as his aura soared. He was ready to strike but held back, because his brother was in Li Shernong's hand. He didn't want to take action rashly.

Li Shenrong chuckled and pulled again. Miserable screams of the guard captain echoed throughout the streets. Both of his arms were torn apart.

Cold sweat poured down from the guard captain's face. A trace of fear appeared in his eyes as he stared at Li Shenrong.

"What do you want?" Royal Guard Du suppressed a belly full of anger inside his heart as he asked coldly.

"Nothing much. I just want to torture him to death." Li Shenrong replied with a smile.

Royal Guard Du's face instantly became unsightly. Putting aside Li Shenrong publicly breaking the law and abusing a guard captain of the capital, he, a Royal Guard was present at the scene but he couldn't do anything to stop it? A clear public humiliation and a stain to his prestige.

Li Shenrong tore off the guard captain's both arms and legs. Then he openly, in-front of the street full of crowd, gouged out both his eyes.

The horrendous screams of the guard captain echoed far and wide which gave a shiver down to spine of anyone who heard it.

"So ruthless! Who is he? Such guts!" Spectators couldn't help but exclaim after witnessing such a brutal torture.

"Animal! I'll kill you." Royal Guard Du roared as he dashed at Li Shenrong with lightning speed.

Li Shenrong turned his head and looked at him with clear disdain in his eyes. He then pressed his palm forward slowly.

Royal Guard Du was hit. A muffled sound could be heard and his body fell down flat on the street, breaking several tiles in the process.

Li Shenrong didn't stop and waved his sleeves gently.

Head exploded one after another, dying the dry street red with blood. None of the subordinates of Royal Guard Du was alive as their headless corpses fell down from air like dead fly.

Witnessing such gruesome scene, many sucked in a cold breath of air.

"He killed everyone! This is a clear provocation to the imperial family."

Li Shenrong threw the half dead Guard captain to Shen Luo. "Kill him or torture him, up-to you." With that said he left the tavern.

Shen Luo felt emotional. Holding his daughter in his arms, he wiped the tears from his face and bowed deeply toward Li Shenrong's direction.

Today, a weak and vagrant cultivator like him took a firm decision inside his heart. He vowed to himself that one day he will become strong and won't let anyone bully his daughter anymore.

….

Happy Inn.

"Old Liu, you can go and manage the inn. I'll call for you if something is needed." Sitting inside his room, Li Shenrong spoke.

Old Liu didn't dare to say anything as he closed the door and left silently.

If this was some other time, killing the Royal Guards would've made the imperial family retaliate fiercely. But now, imperial family themselves were in tenterhooks, so no one came to find trouble with Li Shenrong even though everyone was discussing that event vigorously.

To Li Shenrong, killing the guards was akin to killing some ants. He didn't care and he wouldn't either.

In his room, he sat down cross legged and started cultivating. Li Shenrong was ready to become a Heaven congregation realm expert at this point. Even though he had slowed down his advancement progression but it was still fast compared to the geniuses. But his foundation was sturdy like a divine pillar so he didn't mind it too much.

One can be called a true expert, only after reaching Heaven congregation realm. Heaven congregation realm was vastly different from other realms below.

After stepping into the Heaven congregation realm, a cultivator would be able to glimpse into the mysteries of fragmented natural law and the Dao. They would learn how to connect to the Heavenly Dao and draw on the energy for themselves. Some geniuses will be able to give birth to the seed of their own Dao path.

Heaven congregation realm, this marks the beginning of their true path toward the Dao.

But Li Shenrong wasn't too eager to advance because he needed a place to pass his tribulation.

When advancing to Heaven congregation realm, every cultivator would need to face the heavenly tribulation. Only after passing the tribulation they could become a full fledged expert.
