Lord Klaus’ Fated Vampire Mate

Mara is a special, rare vampire who wasn’t allowed to go outside until she clocked twenty, for her own safety. There, she comes across the most breathtaking man ever and discovers he was her soulmate, but he turns out to be soulmates with her elder sister, and rejects her at once. Mara wasn’t happy, but her sister’s happiness came first, so she took the rejection in one stride and went her way. To her bewilderment, she was accused of the murder of her elder sister the very next day, by none other than her soulmate, Lord Klaus. Three-hundred years old Lord Klaus is a very ruthless and feared Vampire King, a dark soul that loves orderliness as much as he loves power. Mara is a huge disruption in his perfectly outlined life, ruining a lot of plans with her sudden presence, and he hates her so much because of that, making him determined to make her life a living hell. With feelings managing to bloom in the most unexpected and complicated situation, falling in love just couldn’t be helped, nor avoided. But when centuries-old secrets and truths start to unravel, Mara realizes that her whole life might be a lie, resulting in life-threatening dangers arising, thrusting not only Mara into the midst of it, but also Klaus. It was intense, gruesome, life-altering, and chaos was bound to happen. What’s going to happen to Mara? ~~~ EXCERPT ~~~ “Why don’t you just let me die? Why?! Dammit, why?” He took in a single breath before responding. “Because I wanted to kill you myself.” “Oh, yeah?” She sneered. “Do it then! Fucking kill me.” He cocked his head and scoffed. “Maybe if you ask nicely next time like a good girl, I’ll consider doing it.” He inched closer, backing her against the wall until there was nowhere she could run to. He lifted a hand and wrapped it around her throat, which he used in briskly tugging her face close to his. “But, for now, you’re gonna have to stay alive. Not because I give a fuck whether you live or not, but because I know that staying alive is a bigger punishment to you than death.”

First Failure

Klaus's POV

She got to her feet to look at me as I was confused at what I was hearing from her.

"I reject your apology," she said again with a straight face as I found myself trying my best to hold myself back from restraining her airflow.

"What?! Why?!" I asked. It had taken everything in me to apologize in the first place and here she was rejecting me.

I was on the verge of grabbing her neck and reaching her a lesson to who was superior but I had to hold myself back. I would only succeed in killing her.

"I am apologizing to you," I said with a deep heave. "I'm expecting that you would at least give in to my apologies. It's not hard to understand where I'm coming from."

"But that's the thing Klausy," she called my name with a mocking tone which had me groaning inside. If I had magic I would burn her lips for saying something like that. "I don't want your apology. After you've taken me to the prisons a couple of times, I think I'm the villain in this story and I don't like you for any reason."

I swallowed my pride one last time as every conversation I had with my best friend hit my head. I didn't need to be a terrible person. I would forgive her and what she was going through.

If I followed Gail's advice I would have her hung for speaking to me in that manner but I would not do that. I had to be calm. I wanted her to be my mate. If I went against her and decided to kill her I would have to find someone I would force to be my mate and I didn't want to pick just anyone.

It had taken me some time before I could get Layla and after seeing her sister I had felt a pull. Now I was tired of seeing the stubbornness in her.

"We'll have this conversation another time," I sighed, leaving the room.

It was only because I wanted the post of the lord of lords that I was not clawing out her head.

I would keep myself calm and handle my fights silently. I didn't want to get her scared of me. That would not make a very good mate.

Just as I left the room, I headed for the sparring hall and called one of my guards to spar with me. Within a few seconds the man was on the floor begging for his which disgusted me.

He was supposed to be strong and he was supposed to counter me. This stupid display of weakness had me sneering.

No one was strong enough to handle my wrath. I was alone in this world that had my kind of strength.

I thought back on her. Maybe she was different. Maybe she would handle my strength if she still had her powers.

But I would never know seeing as she had lost her powers.

I would try her again tomorrow, I thought as I exited the halls with everyone bowing to me.

I walked to the edge of the garden to look over the cliff which spanned the entire expanse of land in the dark forest.

"Is something bothering you sire?" Gail joined me as I looked at him with his suit.

He was waiting for me to give the order and have her head off but he should know I would never do that.

"I'm not giving you that order Gail," I sighed as the man stared at me with wide eyes.

"You should know I want what is best for you. If it is because of the throne that you want, you should know that you will get it, but you need to let me help you. I can get you any woman you want. She will be the one to help you in all you want. I have a few…"

"No!" I yelled as the ground beneath us cracked, sending a few rocks toppling over the cliff. "We are done having this conversation. I don't want to hear it anymore. I am not killing her. I already told you why. Now respect my wishes and leave me be."

He stared at me for a while before bowing.

"As you wish," were his last words before he walked away leaving me alone.

I was too mad to consider any secondhand idea. I just wanted to be done with her and have her on my side. If I wooed her and she was mine, we would have the ceremony and I would be on my way to achieving that position.

I didn't like the fact that I had to deal with her being my enemy. If she would accept me as her mate then most of my problems would be solved.

Plus this would be a good thing for her seeing as she would be my mate and she would not be a victim of abuse from the guards.

"Why is she making things so hard?" I asked as I walked to the dining room to see my meal had been placed before me.

I first drank the blood before tossing it to the walls.

"This is stale!" I yelled as the maids cleaned up the mess and fresh blood was brought to me.

I finished it first before eating the plate of food before me. It was better than I could say and I liked it.

When I was done, I picked up another pint of blood and started for the balcony to look into the night sky.

It was filled with the night creatures flying around in the skies and the ones that couldn't fly running on land.

The moon was larger than life in the skies which had me smiling.

The lands that laid before me was mine but sooner than later I would have more than this for myself. All she needed to do was say yes and I would have all I needed for myself.
