The wind picked up, and the waves increased in intensity. A lone figure swam up and wiped his face clean. His dull eyes glanced around blankly, as if searching for something.
"Hachin..... Where are you?" he gently whispered to himself and dived back in. Since he was very close to land, the waves were more ferocious, pushing towards land with force.
The little oyster Qu wren got swept up by the wave and onto the dry sandy beaches of Gulia again.
Peering at the stormy sky, wren gently sighed. "What went wrong?... I just wanted to have a child. Is it too much to ask? Why does fate hate me so much.. Now... poor Hachin is in danger because of me?..."
Hot tears rolled down his eyes, but before it could even touch the sand, it evaporated into smoke. The newly dry clothes clung to his skin, making his slim yet fit silhouette stand out.
Wren swept his long pink hair back in a messy bun with a piece of seaweed and sat down near the turbulent shores.
The gloomy atmosphere was as if the skies were morning along with him.
"I hate it so much.." he sniffed subtly and buried his head in his knees. "Hachin.. come back.. Don't leave me like this."
Little in the distance a small pink blob watched this solitude figure with a grimace. 'What is this grown ass man crying about huh? Darn my ears are going to bleed at this rate.'
Feng Mian who had recently been transformed into a baby bird squawked loudly, cussing him in bird language.
The young man glanced back, with tears hanging down his lashes. "Are you hungry?"
"squeak! Squak!!" Mian cried. 'Yes, you bloody bugger. I'm just a baby, okay. You have to feed me at least once an hour!!'
Wren pulled himself off the shore into the dense forest. He took the bird from the small hammock he had made and held it to his chest. "I'll rehydrate some octopus for you."
Mian's meaty pink wings twitched. 'Octopus again!! Why is this guy feeding me so badly?' he grumbled slightly.
It had been few days now from when he met this annoying sea creature.
Because he had lost his cultivation recently and just had a heart injury, his body was super weak. It was not able to resist the purple lightning at all. Instantly it was burned. The feeling of his skin burning off his bones still lingered in his mind, making him shudder a little. He literally came back from death door.
"It's soaked enough now," a voice disrupted his thoughts.
The pink-haired man slowly pulled out three black coloured octopus tentacles off of the vessel.
Just the fishy smell of it made him retch a bit.
"Here, eat up." A hand nudged his beak slightly.
Without any reserve, Feng Mian opened his small beak wide. 'Come on, put it in. I'll just swallow without chewing.'
A piece of squishy meat entered his mouth. Closing his eyes tightly, he dry swallowed it with difficulty. 'Fuck, this man is really trying to kill me huh... how can he put in such a big thing,'
With difficulty he ate the disgusting octopus meat.
But he had no other way to survive. With his small body and half-opened eye, it is not possible to survive in the wild.
This man was his only source of lively hood as of now. His human form had been complexly incinerated by the heavenly tribulation, leaving behind only ashes. If it were a normal beast, it would have passed on into the afterlife.
But since he was a flame phoenix, a miracle happened.
Frome the ashes, he was reborn as a small baby chick with its eyes still closed, leaving him completely vulnerable to his dangerous environment.
The young lad gently caressed his chin. "I see you have grown a little fat. Good, good, Hachin likes meaty stew," he mumbled to himself.
Feng Mian, on the other hand, froze. 'You bugger, you still haven't given up the thought to cook me!! Just you wait, ill grow up into a beautiful phoenix and roast you and toast you and eat you,' he squawked continuously in anger.
Thinking that the bird might be hungry again wren plugged a tentacle into its mouth. 'This thing is much more glutinous than I am.'
Mian choked on the meat. With his small featherless wings, he pulled out the piece of octopus tentacle and glared at him. 'Injustice. I call injustice!!!'
'My poor Mu Zheng, where are you? Come, save your master from this torture!! I don't want to eat sea food anymore. Mommy I hate this!!!'
Hearing his nonstop squawking and squeals, wren slightly sighed. He picked up the little trembling thing and plugged it into his shirt. "Warm now?"
Feng Mian stopped a little. From this angel, he could see the red swollen eyes of this man and his down wards brows. Even in a melancholic mood, this man looked as pretty as a painting.
"I guess all you need is love and warmth huh?" wren gently caressed him though his shirt.
Mian at fist moved away from his hand but somehow the warmth from his hand made him quite comfortable. He nudged his fingers a little and climbed into his smooth palms. Moving around a bit, he found a comfortable spot and slept with the support of his palm.
'I guess my life is in his palms now.... but darn, why does he feel so warm. It's like I'm inside a furnace. So soothing,'
Wren watched the bird squeak a little and sleep cutely.
"Hachin would have liked you a lot little birdie,"
