Chapter 13

You come out of the school when you saw Aoki waiting for you. For a second there you almost mistook him as Kiyoshi.

"Hey.." he says as soon as he sees you. "Hi.. How's life?" you ask. "Pretty boring." he replies back. "Why?" you ask. "From the past few days, nothing exciting is coming up.." he says.

"You guys must be bored because you have no one to bully.." you say. "No.. That is not it.." he says.

On the way to your houses, while chatting you both come across a weird looking house. "Was this there before??" you ask gazing at it.

"Umm.... I don't think so.." Aoki says also looking at it closely. You both are fascinated but at the same time scared of the darkness and bizarreness of the house.

Still looking at it, you ask in a low voice, "Should I go inside?"

Aoki hears the small whisper and says in low voice, "We shouldn't.." You then slowly run your head towards him and ask, "Why not?"

"I don't know.. There might be a person like Kiyoshi inside." he replies. "What is that supposed to mean?" you ask. "I mean I only knew that one guy who lived in a house that radiated this kind of energy.." he says.

"Hm.. Made sense." you say. Then after you both observed to house closely, you finally decide to leave.

It was long walk from that house to your house. Aoki's house is in another direction and yours in another.

"Tata!" you say and open the fence outside your house. "Bye!" he says and starts walking towards his house.

You enter the house and feel weird. "Why is there no noise?" you think walking in the living room.

You search everywhere, in the kitchen and all the rooms (including the bathrooms) but still couldn't find anyone.

"Where is everyone? Is this my house? Am I dreaming?" you kept asking questions to yoursel while running around.

Finally, after you confirm that the house is yours, you lock the main door and head to your room.

After changing, you lie down on the bed and stretch a little. You take out your phone when you hear some noise from downstairs.

Clang! Thud..

You heard sounds from the first floor. "And I thought nobody was there." you say getting alert.

You grab the baseball bat of yours which was hidden underneath all the clothes in the very right corner of the room.

You open the door as quietly as possible and get down the staircase.

Step by step, the noise becomes clearer. It was a rustling sound.. Like a packet of chips or chocolates.

You get in the living room and hide behind a couch. You can hear the footsteps frantically running back and forth and around the KITCHEN.

You slowly sneak behind the couches and finally find a guy in a black hoodie. "I am so hungry... Where is she?" he mumbles loud enough for you to hear. He keeps going through all the cupboards and eats whatever he finds.

"Who is he talking about" you think and get ready to strike.

You walk quietly behind him and see him eating your favourite chocolates. In anger, you raise the bat and hit it hard on the back of the guy's head.

Thung!

"Ow! urgh..." the guy falls and groans on the ground. You bend down to see his face.

"Wait.. It is you?! " you ask surprised after looking at his face.

"Yep.. Hi sis.." Y/B says still groaning on the ground. You pick him up and apply some medicine on his head.

....

"Why were you eating like that? And when did you return back home?" you ask.

"I was already in my room after school. Mum wasn't there but she left a note. I was hungry so I ate chocolates." he explains.

"But I couldn't find you.. I just checked all around the house like fifteen mins ago.." you say.

"Did you check under the bed?" he asks. "No.. What the hell were you doing down there?" you ask.

"I was playing video games and listening to music.. And I guess I forgot to lock the door." he says smiling.

"Oof... What did mom say in the note?" you asks. "She told to order something from outside.." he replies.

"Do you want something from outside or should I cook some noodles?" you ask. "Anything is fine... Just gimme! I am hungry af." he says holding his grumbling stomach.

You rush to the kitchen and make some noodles for the both of you. "Is this what heaven feels like?" Y/B says slurping the noodles. You smile at him and switch the television on.

After a while, your parents return home and everyone goes to sleep. Just then the door of your room opens and Y/B enters the room.

"What happened?" you ask getting up. "I wanted to talk to you about something weird that happened today." he says sitting on the bed.

"Okay.." you say. "Today when I was coming back home, I came across this weird looking house." he started.

"I saw it too.." you say in a low voice. "Without a second thought, I entered the house and stepped up the stairs and came back down when an old lady just popped infront of my face and she started saying some shit.." he says.

"Like?" you ask. "Like I am the alpha of some place named Pethra.. East city or something." he says.

"Hmm... Probably a prank." you say. "Yeah I think so too.. But what if it isn't a prank? What if there is some thing called Pethra?" he asks. "I will search on Google." you taking out your phone.

The only thing coming was 'Are you looking for' or 'Did you mean'. "No such thing exists.." you say.

"What if it is a parallel World?" he asks. "Such things don't exist." you answer.

"What if-" Y/B continues to say another what-if but you stop him and say, "Enough what- ifs. Now go and sleep."

"But.." he says. "No buts too.. Good night.. Let's check this out tomorrow." you say and take him outside your room. "Ok.. Good night.." he says and returns to his room.

"Huff... I am so tired!" you think and go to your comfy bed. Just as you lie down, you fall asleep.
