The villagers observing the situation thought about Liu Xiaolan's words and changed the way they looked at Liu family.
Although they are peasants and have no high education, their lives are still relatively simple. Everyone farms their own land and they can live a quiet and peaceful life.
But now it would seem that the Liu family was nothing good. It's not the first time they've made a huge affair in the village out of nothing, and this time they even wanted to hit someone.
If nobody takes care of them, who knows what the Liu family will do tomorrow?
Just as the folks were getting a little angry and the situation was about to escalate, Elder Ren made his appearance.
Usually, in case of any conflicts popping up in the village, his son, Ren Lanfeng, would deal with them without the need of interventions from the older generation.
Today however, early in the morning, Ren Lanfeng took an ox cart from a nearby village and went to the city. That's also the reason why the Liu family could shout in the center of the Liuojia Village for so long and nobody came to take care of them.
Elder Ren's real name was Ren Xipeng. He was the previous village head of Liuojia Village, and spent most of his life taking care of the affairs of the nearby villagers and the village itself.
After spending such a long time working for the good of Liuojia Village, he was also a little tired and gave up the position to his educated son. After that, he still accepted the position of an Elder, but usually he didn't really do much.
Ren Xipeng was getting older and didn't like to preside over fights of other villagers, so initially he just wanted to wait it off and let everyone go in their own way. But now it would seem that not only wasn't the situation getting better, but even the nearby villagers were about to run in and take care of the Liu family.
With no other choice, he could only step in and clean up this mess.
Elder Ren looked at the commotion and asked with a stern voice, "What are you all doing here? Can someone explain to me what's going on right now?"
It might have been some years since Elder Ren gave up the position of village head, but his prestige around the village was still very big. With just one sentence from him, most of the nearby villagers calmed down and no longer cared about the Liu family.
"Elder Ren, it's all these Liu family…"
"Yes, exactly, aren't they making trouble again?"
"They can even beat people in the bright day, who dares to be neighbors with them?" Another villager added, but his voice couldn't go through because of the noise made by other folks around him.
Ren Xipeng looked at the villagers and had a headache. Can't you guys at least speak one by one? How can he understand anything in this kind of jargon?
"Quiet, everyone be quiet. I don't understand you when you all speak at once.." Elder Ren looked around and noticed Liu Xiaolan and her husband.
He still had a pretty good opinion of the girl based on the fact that she reminded him about his dead daughter, so with a little softer voice he asked her, "Girl Liu, you're here as well. Can you explain to me what's happening over here?"
Liu Xiaolan noticed Elder Ren as soon as he came towards them.
Finally, she could breathe some fresh air and release some of her worries. After all, Ren Xipeng is still a honorable elder. With him here, there shouldn't be any more issues for her and she can just let him take care of the mess made by the Liu family.
With no bias towards herself, she quickly recalled what happened today from the moment she left the city and explained in details what the Liu family was doing.
The more Elder Ren heard her recount what happened today, the more he was getting angry.
He knew that the Liu family had something against Liu Xiaolan and made some trouble previously, but enough is enough for him. How many times do they need to make such trouble before they can stay quiet and don't disturb other people?
Ren Xipeng looked at Grandma Liu and said, "Yan Rusheng, don't you feel your face hurting? You keep calling Liu Xiaolan as a shameless girl, but have you looked at yourself?"
Grandma Liu knew that they were wrong this time, but she couldn't admit it. "What's wrong with me? I'm just disciplining a person from my family, what does it have to do with other people?"
"Your family? Who are you kidding? Or perhaps you truly want to let Liu Xiaolan back onto your genealogical tree?" Ren Xipeng said with some anger.
"What? How could she be taken back to our family's record? Are you crazy…" Grandma Liu almost shouted again, but was stopped by her daughter-in-law.
Shen Meijing forced a smile on her face and said, "Elder Ren, don't take her words to your heart. My mother-in-law is getting older and she's just talking crap, no need to think twice about what she says…"
However, Shen Meijing played this trick a few times too much. Now, almost every time they make trouble their Liu family would force the ugliness on the fact that Yan Rusheng is getting older and simply can't think straight.
Ren Xipeng didn't buy her words one bit. He looked at Shen Meijing and asked, "Madam Shen, do you think I'm also stupid after getting older? Otherwise how can you expect me to believe in such a stupid lie?"
The faces of the Liu family changed once they heard his voice. It seems like this time they've kicked a steel plate and Elder Ren intends to take this situation to the very end…
It was also at this moment that Liu Xiaolan once again opened her mouth and spoke towards Elder Ren and other villagers...
