The promise

Completely drained of energy, farmished and thirsty for water - little Katherina lies on the dirty rug in the small dungeon cell where she is being kept captive. This is the third day she's gone with no food and no water. Her beautiful egg-like skin has turned pale and dry - like the sand.

'Why did her parents abandon her to suffer like this?' That's the only thought spiraling in her head.

She is crying silently - painful tears streaming down her cheeks, that is when she hear the sound of footsteps approaching her cell. The sound kept growing stronger and only fell quiet when the person stopped in front of her cell.

She tried moving but to no avail, she is too weak and could die any second.

"Hi um… are you okay?" A little boy's timid voice echoed in her ears.

She gave a weak sigh of relief - glad it isn't Kate Banks.
