Caught in the crossfire

Overlapping voices speak, "Katherina… Katherina… Katherina!!"

As soon as the name rolled out of John's mouth, Blair felt her heart clot with anxiety. She stumbled back from the shock as images from her past rapidly came flashing before her eyes.

"So use every ounce of your talent to show Cara she is better off with me, Zion is not a good choice!" John said, smirking, then striding away.

Scoffing, Blair clenched her fists, "you will pay for this!"

Zion is on the balcony lost in thoughts when Damien gently tapped his shoulder.

"How do you feel now that John's back?" Damien asked, leaning his hands against the banister.

"I've been struggling being the alpha, you know, trying to be half as good as my brother, now that he's back i don't have to do anything, I can return to being the bystander i've always been!" Zion responded in a flat tone.

Damien nods, "so does that mean you are planning to give up on Cara too?"
