“It’s a year today, you know?” Felicity said, after we had both been bankrupted by Chloe on the Monopoly board and had retired to the sofa, whilst the twins tried to finish Louise. I was on her lap, through choice, happily cuddling up with my God-sister, who was wearing dark red velvet. “Since you told me?”
“Is it?” I sighed, as she kissed my hair, almost purring with pleasure. Felicity was sixteen and quite tall, almost as tall as her mother, but she was still very much a child in her parent’s eyes. But she did not seem to mind, most of the time, and she liked looking after her four little sisters. “Best thing I ever did…”
“You’ve changed so much…everyone loves you?”
“I think Kelly is jealous of that…it must be hard watching someone be you better than you did…don’t you think?” I murmured so that the twins could not hear, but they were so engrossed in their game, there was little danger.
“She said she was a better Kelly than you?”
