I dreaded going to sleep

And I couldn't even sleep and only up to three-four pills of Xanax could even get me drowsy .

It was probably bordering on an overdose but I couldn't help it.

The night terrors were too much and if I didn't take it, I would start to suffer from withdrawals, very bad withdrawals.

I made a mental note to ask Lila a trail so I could resume my daily runs but for today, I reached out and checked the alarm clock on the dresser.

I was barely 6am yet, and I couldn't even go back to sleep.

I started to roam round the room exploring, I entered into the walk in closet.

I had not noticed earlier but now I realised the amount of shoes, clothes, and bags that I had.

There were more than 1O different Nike shoes there.

I looked at my worn out own sitting beside them looking out of place, all the clothes still had tags on them, there were different colours of hoodies, most of them cropped and there were jeans and gowns and tops and even ball dresses.

I wondered why on earth I would need that, thinking of what to wear for school.

I decided that I would wear one of what Lila provided for me, remembering the disappointed sad look on her face yesterday.

I grabbed one of the black jeans, a cropped white hoodie and black loafers with a black back pack sitting on the shelf, I packed my bag.

I put some pills in a tissue and stuffed it inside, with some binders and writing materials on the shelf .

I set everything on the couch. I entered the bathroom to have my bath.

I took my time in the bathroom for the first time in my life, trying the different scented body washes.

I settled with the jasmine shampoo and body wash.

I dressed up wearing a sports bra underneath the hoodie and packing my hair up in a pony tail.

I was not used to make up or any of those stuffs, so that pretty much concluded my preparation, I checked the time again it was already 8am,alot of time had passed and I remember Blake telling me that school would begin at 9am but they had practice .

That meant we would leave at 8:30 as I was riding with them to school.

I popped two pills in my mouth , taking deep breaths as I headed downstairs, barely paying attention, and stuck in my head.

Suddenly, I bumped into a hard chest, strong hands wrapped around me to keep me steady, the person smelt really good.

I looked up to see Asher studying my face with curious intensity, I jerked back away from him.

" Maybe next time you should watch where you are going" he growled and stalked off

I had been meaning to apologize but he didn't even deserve it, I rolled my eyes and continued downstairs.

Blake was already sitted eating.

"Ahhh, my snarky little sister has arisen",Blake chuckled , I rolled my eyes at him.

" I'm not snarky, I'm not little and we are not even siblings", I murmured and sat down dropping my bag to the floor.

"Potato ,Potato", Blake sang , gosh, he was such a child.

Asher remained quiet through out the whole interaction, I wonder what crawled up his ass this morning.

Looking at the plate Blake dropped in front of me, I became very nervous , I was pretty sure that if I ate it I would throw up.

"I'm good", I pushed the plate away and grabbed an apple and glass of juice.

"Are you sure, you didn't have dinner last night?",Blake asked, his face scrunched in confusion.

"No, I'm good, it is just nerves, that's all", I said convincingly.

" you're nervous?", Blake asked me, his face softening. I nodded busying myself with chewing the apple.

" you know you don't need to be, you've I and Asher, school would be a walk over, plus you're looking really good right now, I think the only thing you need to be nervous about is the kind of attention you'd be getting " Blake ended with a laugh as my eyes widened.

"The most sought after, how does that sound?" He continued making me scowl and he laughed harder this time around, Asher joined him

"Okay, I'm coming, let me get dressed, so we can go", Blake told me then looked at Asher.

"You still getting a head start?", He asked as Asher grunted in approval looked at me and walked away.

Blake left to upstairs and I heard a car drive away.

I was sipping on my juice when Lila walked in.

" Morning, Audrey, how was your first night?, Did you sleep well?".

I smiled and nodded, " I noticed you didn't had a phone, so I got you this, and uhm these are your cards, both of them incase you max one out, don't worry, they are unlimited black cards, you can use them as much as you want and keys to your car parked outside"

Lilah said with a small smile as she dropped them ingront of me, I was still gaping at her.

" No , I can't accept this, you've given me too much already", I told lilah pushing them towards her.

"No, don't tell me that, they are yours , so please take them, please", Lilah pleaded and put them into my hands closing my fingers over them.

"Thank you so much,"my voice caught , tears threatening to spill down my cheeks.

"It is fine, it's fine, now I need to make a call, I'll see you after school, okay".Lilah waved and went upstairs.

I looked at the phone it was the latest iPhone phone brand, she had already entered her number and that of the house, Blake and Senator Mc'Brad.

I had never owned anything that wasn't a necessity, even things like tampons.

I had to beg for them and now I was the owner of a car, I put them in my bag, one glance at my phone number, and it stuck.

I had always been good in school work, I was in AP classes at my old school despite being a junior, and now I was starting senior year .

Blake bounded downstairs, calling out to me,"Yeah, I'm coming"

I followed him and we headed out ,There were two cars in the driveway, a red Aston Martin and a black GLE.

"Woah, smooth ride, Audrey, can you drive?",Blake asked as I shook my head.

"No issues, we would get that sorted out soon", he said as he slid into the Aston Martin.

That meant my car was the GLE, oh my God, Oh my God, I whispered continuously.

"Are you going to stay there all day or are you coming in, so we can go?".

"Uhm sorry, let's go", I slid into the car seat as Blake zoomed off.

We drove for a while before Blake started throwing questions at me

"You're starting senior year right?, I nodded at him.

"You don't talk much do you?", "I shook my head.

" What classes are you taking?", 'Uhm, I'm not sure yet but all my classes would be AP classes, art class as my elective". I told him.

Suddenly the car swerved and I closed my eyes tightly preparing for the worst.
