Chapter 13: Trust Me
Colton was looking at him like he would light him on fire. "Calm down man it's not what you think. Were watching a movie and it got late and we just slept." "So you didn't have sex with her?" "No but even if I did that would be only our business. It's not like we are just fooling around man she's my girlfriend we are in a relationship and I am serious about her. What we do or don't is up to us and only our business." Vincent told him flatly. "You got hell of a nerve to say that shit to me." "I'm just hitting you with the truth man. She's in the bathroom she's finishing getting dressed." Vincent told him as he blocked him from trying to get in the room.
"I just told you she's trying to finish getting dressed it's not appropriate for you to enter her room right now I don't know if she has her clothes or not. Please wait out here and I will tell her you're here." "Who the hell are you to tell me I can't come in here." "Like I said I'm he boyfriend and right now my woman is getting changed and I would like to request your presence outside until she is finished." He said politely. "You need ot get your ass out if she is getting changed. Don't you think?" "Like I said what we do and don't do is our business." Vincent told him flatly.
"She showed you her scars didn't she?" Colton asked him realizing that's what happened. "She told me a lot of things last night and yes I saw what she wanted to show me." Vincent told him in a respectful way. "You going to run?" Colton asked flatly. "Are you crazy? Why would I run from some old scars. Don't get me wrong I'm mad that anyone could do such a thing to that amazing woman. But aint nothing going to hold me back from that woman. I love her. I aint going anywhere unless she tells me to." Vincent told him flatly. "I jut got new found respect for you Cheng. But there is just so much more you have yet to learn you remember those words." Colton told him in a daring tone.
"Just tell her Landen is on her crew today and Sienna is back in the office I will meet you guys up at the river today." "Will do boss man." Vincent told him as he hollered the message to Ana. "I'll see you at the yard babe I got to go get a change of clothes." "Alright see you there." He shut the door happily as he made his way and got drilled by Damien since her didn't come home. Walking up to the guys as they smiled at her wishing her good morning. "At least it's Friday boss." Ryder said walking with his arm over her shoulder making them a smirk and smile to him. "Plus we get to see the river today. Too bad it wasn't Summer right?" Dylan added making Vincent agree with him.
"Come on guys let's shove off." Colton hollered. "Has everything been checked over? Everything working good?" Ana called to him. "Should be fine Vee it's all marked off." Colton hollered back. "Where's Jordi?" She asked one last time. "He coming up soon going to meet us there he putting an order with Cici we need by Tuesday." Nodding her head they all rolled off. "You want to go home today?" Vincent asked her. "Maybe I'm having a girl morning with Chloe on Sunday for about an hour or two." "Let me know. If not we can go out to dinner." VIcnent whispered into her ear wrapping his arm around her waist in the car. Making the guys make fun of them.
"I'd love to go Vinny." Ryder spoke up. "Yeah family trip y'all!" Jaxon said in his highest girl voice. As the all agreed. "Fine you damn vultures. Next time we getting a sitter." Vincent spoke loudly in the car as they all went up in cheers. Making Colton laugh hard shaking his head. Landen rolled his eyes at the car in front of him he could just imagine the conversation in there. Sienna was dreaded going up here although she was only to be a gopher bringing what they need to where they would need it, cleaning certain tools and directing certain traffic when they go to leave. It was difficult but they really couldn't have made it any easier.

Jordan was finishing up and was saying goodbye to Cici when security and another man came running in. "What's the problem." Jordan asked in concern. "Boss this man says we have a problem with one of the machines. They got mixed up and it should be brought back immediately." The guard said. "What do you mean all equipment gets tested before we even sign off on delivery maybe you got your machines mixed up sir." "The man translated in Chinese what he was saying back. Knoxx walked in listening to the conversation when his eyes popped opened. Looking down at the phone of the guard he got nervous.
"Send this to me. Jordi let's get there now. The damn thing is not only faulty and probably will break in the air it can fucking catch on fire." Knox said as they were driving down with Jordi driving as Knoxx kept trying to call anyone. "FUCKING MOUNTAIN WITH NO SERVICE FOR ANYONE!" "It can really catch fire?" Jordan was a little worried. "That would be the best thing at least we are next to the damn River. With the current it has near that damn cliff the fucking thing could fall apart. Jordan they re hovering over the damn waterfall or damn near on it." Knoxx said with fear in his eyes.
"Fuck. How did this happen we test every fucking thing?!" "Security guard clocked in the checker it was Sienna as she was going through the checklist someone came and asked her question on paperwork before she turned on the machine. She never did she got down signed off looked around like she forgot what she was doing signed it off and walked away." Knoxx said hold the bridge of his nose. We don't even have the right power to be using this one. It look just like the one we normally get though." Knox added.
"So we got a more powerful machine doomed to fail which can catch on fire, fall apart or even electrocute them I'm guessing. While they are above the damn Waterfall part of the mountain. How high is the fall." Jordan asked trying to grasp the situation. "If you land wrong in that depth it can kill you not to wonder what kind of wild life is in it. People don't go in this River too often so who's to say what's at the bottom." Knox said not feeling better about it. "Just stop talking bro. No one is going to answer they don't have service and we aint got no walkies.

"Damn this is pretty." Damien said. "Pretty fucking high." Daxton told him. "Calm down ladies were fine." Tony told them as they were moving around. "That's not what Vee was feeling at all when we turned it on and screamed for life for two minutes." Drew pouted. "Calm down ladies. Colton said it was marked were fine." "Yeah marked by who?" Dax asked. "Didn't ask just want to get this job done and get down." She responded back. Everything was fine for a few minutes. Drew was manning the platform of the machine they all used to get up on. Ana and Damien were attached to separate ropes working on some drilling on some poles that were on the mountain cliff. Attached to Damien was Tony working below him. Ana had Dax.
Another rope connected Damien to Ana. While Ryder, Landen, Dylan, Colton and Vincent were wielding until they heard some concerns around the machine. "Eli, Dallas. What the hell is going on? What's it doing?" Colton demanded. "Is that thing leaking?" Landen asked making everyone start looking around. When they heard the truck peel in. Knox starts yelling to the workers in Chinese to back away from the machine to stop working. Jordan starts yelling. "Get them down! GET THEM DOWN COLT." When the machine sends an electric current shocking Drew.
All of them including the four from the sky look down. "DREW! DREW you good." Killian hollered. Standing up with no energy face and body looking black and hair standing up he looked at back at Killian. "AM I Good? I just turned into fucking Pikachu bro." "Ana get them down." Vincent yelled. "OK guys calmly and slowly repel back down we got to get Drew off that thing." She told them as they moved fairly quickly. "I told you it was a piece of crap." Dax said moving the fastest. "Oh shut it dip nut." Tony hollered back.
"Tony got onto the platform checking Drew over. When the damn machine started rocking them back and forth and a fire quickly went up the machine. "Oh fuck." Get off the damn thing." Jordan yelled. Grabbing drew and getting back to the mountain wall. It dawned on her. "Drew hold on tight." Tony said as they moved. "Drew cut the lines." Ana told him in a rush. "What?" They asked as the were on the wall. "Cut the damn lin-…" She didn't get to finish before the huge machine was breaking down into smaller pieces and fell in the rushing current.
"Oh Fuck." Damien yelled. They were now falling being ripped away from the mountain wall thanks to the positioning they were now ahead of the tractor crane like machine. There were some huge old trees and there branches that were hanging low. When they landed in the water she cut Dax immediately and luckily they are all strong swimmers which is the only reason they were up there to begin with. Daxton was able to get out quickly as some workers Jaxon and Dallas came to help him. Drew wasn't connected and broke away from them on impact from the water. Eli and Tobias had ahold of him. They were all trying to pull on each others ropes except for Ana.
Taking the rope that was connect to Damien and Tony she managed to get it flung and stuck on the old strong tree branch. "It's too much weight with current pushing us like this. It won't hold long." She hollered to them as she was the last one furthest away. "Just hold on they're coming." Tony yelled back pointing to all the crews trying to get something going to reach them. "Avianna! Don't. Please don't." Damien yelled for everyone to noticed and Vincent and all the men hearts beating quickly. "It's ok. Trust me. This won't beat me." She smiled cutting the rope setting herself free to get dragged on by the current there was a boulder rock that stood a few feet away from the edge. Luckily she took the rope she had left and wrapped it around enough to pull herself on the rock and stand up.
She waved and smiled to the guys turning to her side taking a deep breathe. Looking back when she heard yelling to see the tractor metal crane part swing out of no where and push her over the edge. She didn't get tossed into the waterfall with the machine she got tossed a few feet away from it to land directly from air to the water. "AVIANNA!!" "ANA!" "BOSS!" "VEE!" "NO!!" All the men were screaming hearts shattering around them. Whoever wasn't helping get the machine and men out of the water or wounded quickly made their way to the trucks to try to get to the bottom.

Everything was happening so quickly and it was moving so slowly. The second she hit the water. She noticed the river was still flowing with a force not to be reckoned with. Grabbing onto anything as the impact alone hurt leg enough it wasn't broken but felt like it was about to be. When she impacted on in through the water she managed to slam her head on a rock and than again on the metal bar of the crane. Taking a deep breath she noticed just how dangerous this river was when she saw the village signs and the second edge of the water fall. Closing her eyes she just prayed this would work.
The men looked all over the place they even went to the village as most men got another machine to tow out the broken one. Almost the whole company came and left looking for her. Their hearts were shattered when they found out that there was not only another dip but another after that it would take a whole day just to get down to the bottom and no human body could still be functioning properly to pull themselves out of the water by then.
Vincent was on his knees looking at the water they had no way down to get to her. Where is she? Is she ok? How hurt is she? Why didn't I get up there with her? Why did she let anyone on that damn thing when she was nervous about it at first. Sienna was walking up in tears the twelve man crew stared at her. Cici hugging on Jordan. Landen and Colton helping Tony wrap his arm which got tangled in the rope. The whole world shifted into a winter temperature and anger fumed all over attack her with stares. "Is there any sign of her?" Sienna asked shaking slightly. Vincent knew how remorseful and scared she was. They all were. This was too much especially from her right now.
"You have a hell of a lot of nerve being her Si." Cici told her in a dark voice no one ever thought could come out of her. "Why wouldn't I be here. She's my friend too. I'm scared too. I want her to be ok too." She told her not appreciating her attitude. Jordan, Colton and Landen in angr rushing up to her. "Friend?! You're her fucking friend?! Jordan yelled at her. "LOOK WHERE FUCKING ARE SIENNA!! Look at that damn piece of crap that hurt MY FUCKING MEN! LET ALONE AVIANNA! You did that. You approved that. You did this to us. Over a simple little thing like checking the GOD DAMN EQUIPMENT! LOOK! Look where that one simple little thing brought US!" Colton yelled at her. The men looking at her.
"All these men work for us. They put their trust in us to do these dangerous jobs and we keep them as safe as possible. That's our fucking job Sienna. Men who have given you the sweat off their damn brows. Breaking their backs so we can have a damn company in the first fucking place and all we had to do is keep them paid and safe. That's it Sienna. We told you this was not your place we told you to go back and no the only person who was fighting for you is literally left floating down the DAMN RIVER WITHOUT A PADDAL!" Landen screamed at her.
Dallas was standing in front of Sienna. Killian and Tobias was in front of Colton. Damien was sore but he and Ryder was holding off Jordan, while Eli and Dylan had ahold of Landen. "You all still help her out after what she did?" Landen asked the men pushing him back. "She didn't do this on purpose. This is life crazy shit happens everyday. All accidents are avoidable that doesn't mean they won't happen." Elijah told him. "The fuck she didn't do this on purpose." Cici spoke out loud. Again bringing everyone even Landen to shock. Cici swore. Not only that she swore at Sienna.
"You were in such a mood to prove you could do this so you didn't have to go back to your parents. That you didn't even think to pay attention to the basics of the job. You have any idea the money we had to pay to keep this quiet. What are you going to do now Sienna. What do you think our parents are going to do?" "You crossed a line this time you can't even come back from. You didn't just take machine or income away from this time Sienna you hurt my men and you took my FUCKING SISTER!" Jordan yelled at her falling to the ground in tears crying hard choking.
"I didn't take her. Colton tell him." "I CAN'T TELL HIM ANYTHING SIENNA! BECAUSE I DON"T FUCKING NOW. I DON"T KNOW IF SHE"S OK. I DON'T KNOW IF SHE IS HURT!" Starting to choke on his own tears he was holding back and spoke softly. "I don't even know where the hell she is." "She's not dead. I would have felt it." Vincent said looking out the water. Everyone looking to him. "Me too." Colton told him coming to sit next to him. Landen, Jordan, Cici everyone came around him and sat down. Killian came back with his phone.
Looking up to him Vincent asked. "Well?" "The damn machine is broke apparently Sienna thought it was something else it can't trace her necklace, Dylan's, Ryders or mine." "Necklace?" Landen asked. All the men held up their wolf necklaces. "They are trackers as well as to show the world her mark saying who we belong to. Who they will have to deal with when someone wants to screw with her boys." Dylan told him all looking at the water. "I need her to come back. She's the only other woman besides our mamas who loves unconditionally." Dallas said making them all nod and be sad.
"Why you all in the dirt? I got dinner." They heard a female voice all snapped their head backs. "Why you look so sad? Did someone die?" Avianna was covered in mud twigs and every other things the water could drag her through limping her way with big bags of take out they all came running. To hug her. Vincent didn't even fight Colton as he squeezed her tightly picking her off the ground he towered over her anyway. Jordan took Landen by his shirt and flung him back. Getting in next. The three of them just stood there two crying on her.
"Why the hell you crying? Seriously did someone die? Do I still have 12 men?" "We thought you died. The man said you went off the second cliff no one ever comes back and there is no way down there that wouldn't take a day." Jordan was choking in between the words. "I did go over it. Only this time I was in the water fall. Turns out theres a little cave in there I managed to grab some roots before they gave out and climb my way back up.to a little hill. Walked all the way back after talking to the nicest family. I ordered some food and they told me how to get back." She shrugged.
"Only fucking you Vee." Landen said smiling to her tightly. Damien came up to her a little shaky. I told you to trust me. Nothing beats Avianna Alderman." "That's right boss lady." Vincent came walking up to her as everyone took the food away from her. Looking her over her clothes tattered. Blood on her forehead side of her head and face. Tore up pants with blood on her leg. Taking his jacket and wrapping it around her shoving her into him and holding her tightly. "You scared me. I'm so glad you're here right now." He told her.
"Come on we re taking you to the hospital it'll take over an hour to get there. "Ill get someone to get me a truck." He went to go talk to Colton When Sienna was standing in front of her with Colton, Cici, Jordi, and Landen at her heels. "Vee. Vee I'm so sorry. I'm so glad you're ok." Ana cut her off. "Look at men over there Sienna. Look at me. DO I FUCKING LOOK LIKE I'M OK?! Fucking with me is one thing Si. BUT THEM!" She pointed to her crew. "THOSE ARE MY GUYS! Do you have any idea what I would do for them? I'm the one who has to make sure I bring them home safely. THAT'S MY FAMILY SIENNA! Five years of my family. Other families depending on me to bring them back the same way I took them!"
"She done did it now she awoke the beast. There is no saving her now y'all just back up." Knoxx said to the men who understood. "I could understand a simple mistake that happened to go wrong but the more I thought about it the more pist off I got hobbling my busted ass up this hill. I have always put myself out on the line for you Sienna. ALWAYS! You never seem to meet me half way back. You know someone important to me asked me last night why I would create a plan to give you a second chance like this to prove yourself. When you could be endangering others. I simply said she wouldn't do that on purpose. I would personally take responsibility for anyone who got hurt." Laughing like a mad woman now.
"But you know what Sienna that's what I always do for you. I always take the responsibility so you never had to own up for your own faults. I realized walking up here that it isn't my place to do that. You could have checked the equipment that hurt everyone here today in one way or another. You know damn well if you can't remember if you did something to do it again. But you couldn't be bothered right because you wanted to show to him you belong here right?" Ana asked her with tears falling from her eyes pointing at Landen.
"It's always fucking about you Sienna. In our relationship it's always me with the sacrifices and getting us out of the trouble you and Maddie always got me in. Never once did either of you had to own for it though. WEL THAT SHIT ENDS TODAY! You hurt four people in my family and you put my man through emotional hell including them." She pointed to the life friends behind her. "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! LEAVE! Get your shit and go back home. Do. Not. Come. Back. Do NOT stand in front of me for at least a few days." "This is what she does Vee. I tried to tell you the other night. When you kept sticking up for her. You don't know so much. She even pulled shit with Bry." Ana cut him. "You mean with Bryson. I know Maddie showed me pictures of when she caught them too. When she was in the hospital that night she died. I knew this whole time. I'm not that stupid Landen." Ana told him with a chuckle.
"I did find it hilarious though you came to me to confess your love for him and how that's what good friends do they don't make a move or paly or get engaged to their friends crushes though right Sienna didn't stop you from fucking my worthless crush though did it." Ana asked her in a whisper in her ear. "You are a lot of work Sienna and I just don't think I have the qualifications to put up with it anymore." "Are you breaking contracts with me. Are you breaking ties me after all these years. After everything we've been through?" "Not been through Si, what YOU PUT ME through. Get that shit straight." Ana told her flatly.
"Yeah I think maybe this time I just might be. I need some much needed time away from you. You are too dangerous to have on site for the workers. You have broken the contract yourself over and over again. We all know I don't have the authority to do that not my place." Ana told her stepping back Colton stepping closer. "That's bullshit and you know it. We all know who pulls the damn strings at Jamison and why. You know you." Sienna was about to get in her face as she was yelling and pointing her finger at her as Colton came in between her. "ENOUGH! Get your ass back to your company and wait for us either in person or by lawyer. We got a lot of figuring out to do. Let's get these five down to the hospital. They need to be checked." Colton said as Jordan already had a big truck with another one behind him.
Picking up Avianna bridal style. "I can walk you know babe." "No Ana you cant another thing where the hell are your shoes." He said to her. "Don't worry I got it already. Chloe going to meet you there with some things." "Thank you Cici." Vincent said as the drove off. "Get in the car Sienna we got a lot to talk about don't you think?" Cici told her walking off with Sienna in tears behind her. She never felt more sorry and dirty in her life than she did in this moment trying to figure out how everything got so twisted up.
At the hospital the men all check out fine. Tony just needs to wrap his arm in the evening and he'll be good. Avianna however came back with needing to wear a boot on her leg for a week and a concussion. "She needs to be monitored for about a two days either at home or the hospital." The doctor told everyone in the hall. "I'll take her home." Colton told her. "the hell you will I will take her home. Can you help you in the bathroom or get dressed. Shower?" Chloe barked at him. "I'm taking my woman home." "The hell you are." Jordan went to protest. "It's no ones place but mine. Her brothers shouldn't be seeing her in certain ways that only should be for her partner." Vincent told them flatly. As they got mad.
"Let's ask Ms. Alderman." The doctor spoke up. "Let's." Chloe chuckled out knowing where she was going. "Ms. Alderman would you like to stay here this weekend for observation or would you like to go to any of their homes?" Before she could speak the door flew opened with Theo, Ethan and Richard and they were not happy. "She is going home with me and that's final!" Theo said in a tone daring anyone to argue with him. "I'm sorry sir are you family?" Doctor asked him pushing up his glasses. "You're damn right I am. That's my daughter and I am taking her home. Any one got a problem with that?" He asked fuming around the room. Everyone but Colton shook their head no.
"Now everyone out I got some things I need to talk to her about." Theo told them all as held the door opened. "You." He pointed to the doctor. "Get her discharge papers we're leaving." He said as he slammed the door on them. Walking up to her he looked so sad she looked so bruised and banged up. "Are you alright?" He asked walking up to her she grabbed his hand pulling him to sit next to her on the bed. "Are you?" She chuckled to him. "This isn't funny you had us worried sick. Even Nana Nel worried. This could have been worse. I mean look at you Ana." He said being sad seeing her body and head wrapped.
"I am fine. I am sorry. I just couldn't let them get hurt daddy Theo." She said softly tapping and rubbing her hand. "I know little one I know. But you know you still ended up hurting them in different ways. What do you think those grown ass men would do without you if something happens to you. You have no idea how big of a life source you are to so many people Ana." Theo told her. "Don't worry dad Colton won't fire them they would still have a job."
"It's not about the job Ana. It's you. You play mother, partner, cook, taxi, boss, nurse, gym trainer, life coach. You are these men's therapist. You are their sister, their friend. You are everything to these men out there and the ones waiting for you to come back. They are literally lost with out you. You are the only one who fights for them even though they grown enough to handle it themselves. They find peace in their souls knowing they never have to." Theo told her.
Eyes watered a little. "Thanks Theo. I think I will get dressed now if you could please hand me the dress Chloe brought me it will be easy to slip on over this damn boot." "Oh yes, yes. Here. You need anything else before I step outside." "No I'm good." As the men waited in the hall as she came out she smiled with her crutch. "Are you serious right now." Jordan asked her as Vincent growled at him. "What! Don't give me that bro look at thing it's taller than she is." Jordi argued as Colton slapped him in the back of his head although Ethan was laughing as well for Chloe and Richard to slap him in his. "Oh. Damn dad. Sorry babe." He told Chloe who glared at him.
"I guess we'll be heading back to the office I need to put the incident reports. You call me if you need anything I don't give a crap if its 2 int eh morning and you just wan tice cream." Colton told her. "I'm banged up not pregnant." She laughed at him. "Actually Vincent could you go sign for me on those papers and also please get in my desk and bring me the black USB I need to fix the damn machine to get those necklaces working Monday." "Sure Ana." "Here sister let me." Ethan said as he picked her up bridal style letting Chloe place Vincents jacket over her legs to cover herself better. "Seriously I can walk you guys." "Yeah sure you can short stuff. See you at home bro." Ethan hollered as Vincents family and Chloes walked off his whole world in tow.
"Come on you can ride in with us." Jordan was silently still crying in the back. "Please thank your family for us. I mean if she gets too much or anything I'll come bring her home." "It's not a big deal. We love her." "I see that. I'm thankful she has your family and they are good to her. For some reason though it still rubs me the wrong way it's a me issue though dude." "Well she is your family so I understand your confliction." Vinent shrugged. "I don't think you really do. It's. It's complicated." Colton said scratching the back of his head. After all the paper work was done Vincent went into her office.
It was very homey and very Avianna. He saw the USB she needed and put it in his pocket. His eyes caught the book shelf it was huge and that and the pictures all covered the walls of the whole office. There were pictures of each member and herself and than group pictures of five years. Pictures by the boat load of Chloe, Landen and Colton kissing her on the cheeks and head at places all over the world in side hugs. Cici and Jordan in couple pictures and them kissing her on each side of her cheeks. Pictures of them as kids. Her parents. Family pictures with an older version Colton and two other women he assumed was their mom, Maddie and Ana. "That was a great day." Colton said as he caught him off guard. He put the frame down when a folder fell out and pictures and reports scattered all over the floor.
"Shit. Sorry man." Picking it up he saw hospital pictures and reports of each mark on Ana's body and how they were trying to report it. "Offender in question Scarlett Jamison. Who is she?" Vincent asked in a mad voice. "My mom." Jordan said as he came in drinking from half a whiskey bottle. "Well she was my mom. She is dead. She's probably looking up at us right now." "Don't you mean looking down." Vincent asked looking at Colton who just looked away taking the bottle from Jordi. "Nope she was an evil bitch she's where she belongs hopefully." He said with a sad smirk.
"Don't get me wrong she was an amazing mother to me. And or anyone else she saw a way to make value of." HE said with a light chuckle. "Ana said the night she showed me all these. Your mom didn't like her." Vincent said silently piecing some things together. "That's an understatement my mother hated Avianna. Oh how she loathed her with every fiber of her being." Jordan told him sitting up using his fingers to talk drunk off his rocker. "Jordi shut up." Colton snapped.
"What? I'm not lying. This guy might even be family some day. Shouldn't he have a right to know? Shouldn't he get the right to make the right choices down the road of their relationship how do we even know he is strong enough to handle the truth when no one will give it to him. IF I WERE YOU BRO I WOULD BE INSULTED!" Jordan told him. "Look Colt my brother from another mother. A better mother." He laughed. "We already down the rabbit hole now he saw some of the files just tell him. Fuck it." Jordan told him. "Well fuck head might be right. Look sit down Vincent I'm going to tell you a story. It's not a nice one. It's more of a horror story. I'm going to tell and show you some things." "Like what?" Vincent asked him curiously.
