"It's okay daddy! If they tell you 'No' Alexander and I will go and scold the higher-ups"

"Nina... What do you say we play together tomorrow?"

I was really happy when daddy said we could play together the next day, so happy that I dreamt about mommy and all four of us playing.

I came back from the playground as fast as I could, I knew daddy wouldn't have that much time to play with me since he had to finish his work.

"Welcome home Nina. Go wash your hands, I made a snack for you, you will need the energy".

Daddy was smiling so happily, I can't remember the last time I saw him smile like that. Probably it was around the time mommy left us. I swallowed the food in two bites and ran to daddy's studio and screamed for Alexander to follow me.

I opened my eyes and saw Alexander disappearing in front of me and as I tried to grab him I saw my hand turning to dust like the rest of my body."

I woke up lying down on the floor, weak and could barely stand up, I should have eaten more of the snack daddy made. Why is the smell so strange? Why can I smell so many things and hear so many things? Daddy's smell... how do I know this?

"How are you feeling?" he asked kneeling in front of me, "Can you walk? Alexan... I mean Nina...? No, that's not right. I don't know what to call you. One heartbeat stopped. The smell of blood filled the room, daddy fell to the floor and didn't move.
