10. Hungry kids(?)

The boy was startled and Yuki saw him stiffen before trembling a little, he was really shy and embarrassed, but his stomach didn't care about his face and protested a bit more, his ears became so red that Yuki thought blood would come out of them.

Yuki didn't want to tease him, she simply said, "I'm going to get something to eat... Will you come with me? We can get something from the kitchen. "

The boy didn't respond and Yuki didn't force him, she was not that much of busybody.

She stood up, if he didn't want to eat, well, at least she tried...

She didn't know the boy and had only come here..hmm?

....Why did she come here, again?

Anyway, she should go and get something to eat, the boy was probably the kid of some staff and had sneaked in, he will eventually be found.

Yuki has lived in the side house for years now, except for the things she couldn't do because of her small stature, like cooking. She was used to doing things on her own.

It was not her house and she would've liked to ask someone before taking something out of the fridge, but she didn't find anyone in the kitchen, she was after all the child of the owners so, she directly opened the fridge to find something to snack on.

Her luck was great, she found some chocolate bars!!

She thought of taking one, but in the end, took two.

When passing by the table, she saw some bananas, she took them with her too.

The little boy was still squatting behind the pot, it was a miracle that no one had either searched for him or found him!

Yuki went to the boy and pushed a chocolate bar and two bananas towards him, "Here, eat them.."

Hearing her voice, the boy suddenly looked up, he definitely wasn't expecting someone to give him something, well, he was used to being ignored by others.

He saw a girl with smooth black hair, she looked a bit older than him and had a face without any expression, but the boy felt incredibly warm, though it seemed exaggerated, his eyes teared up.

He finally saw her face crack, she had a baffled look, she must have been shocked by him.

When Yuki had seen the boy look up, the first thing that crossed her brain was, ' he is a boy, right?'

He was very small and thin, Yuki labelled him as a 'boy' because of what he was wearing, even though this world was very modern, maybe because it was still governed by the nobles, the dress code for men and woman were different, which remained same for the children.

It was mandatory for a woman to have a skirt like garment waist down, which must fall below their things, it didn't matter if they wore pants below, but a skirt was a must; even Yuki was used to wearing them, though she felt that she could move better in pants she had her own hacks and wasn't obtuse; similarly, men could only wear pant and no one was allowed to wear Unisex clothes.

If Yuki had to guess the reason, it was probably the last form of distinction between the general gender...

Well, it wasn't a hindrance and she can't possibly fight against the Emperor for something so trivial as her dress right, she could use the same time to read a book or practice her sword.

Ah! She again went off topic!

Anyway, she looked closely, the boy was wearing pants...

He really was a boy, but he was extremely beautiful; she thought she might be hallucinating but for a moment she thought he was glowing with flowers blooming behind him, was it some sort of CG*? Visual Effects?

"...."

Anyway, he had soft fluffy hair that covered his eyes and from the gaps, she could see a pair of golden eyes staring at her, she could imagine an angelic halo around him, she could already count the number of people that will pursue this kid to profess their love to him, the next moment she saw those beautiful eyes tear up and her year-round RBF cracked, ' What the-- '

Her brain was on high alert and analysing what she should do about the situation, but before that, she felt a warm touch on her hand, she looked down only to see that the boy had reached out to get the chocolate and bananas, sub-consciously she let them go like they were hot potatoes and directly took fast steps towards the lounge.

She didn't want to stay there, she didn't like using her brain for things like that and she hated it when her life was not 'normal'!

Her coming here, her meeting the duke... many things were not 'normal' already, she didn't want to increase the numbers.

But what she didn't expect was that shy ball, *cough* the young boy had followed her like a tail, he still had the snacks with him and had run behind her, she had talked to him, she didn't ignore her like the plague and she also gave him food, unknowingly to her she was given the 'good person's tag by this boy.

She felt his presence when she finally sat on the sofa, the boy was standing about a metre away from her and fidgeting. Yuki felt her temples throb,

'What is going on, in this world? It wasn't the world she knew!! '

Though she was not a meddling person, she couldn't exactly ignore the boy, right? Or, should she do that, hm?

But now that he was standing, she could finally see his whole body, the boy appeared younger than her and for a boy he was unusually lean, though she had noticed it earlier, standing still made it more clear, he wasn't malnourished, but for his age, he should be a bit more chubby, she felt a bit soft for him...

'maybe kids these days were like that', was the floating thought of the young girl after a while, who herself was a kid!

CG: computer-animated graphics... hm.. if you guys see Anime, it's the time when a lead is introduced and they have flowers blooming in the back, or the world falls into silence as the wind blows slowly et cetera (-_-) ...it can get very cringy too!
