Chapter 99: Settlement! _1

The Barren Land had been a tale of blood and tears, ever since the dawn of mankind, a battle against foreign tribes. This was a harsh reality - living in constant fear. Some tribes found themselves cast away in vast wilderness without even their own hunting grounds. Their greatest wish was to join a tribe that had attained a rank.

Tribes like them, those scattered and rootless ones, with not an ounce of strength to their name, lived everyday balancing on the brink of starvation. They spent their days and nights fleeing from vicious beasts and foreign tribes, with hardly any warriors of merit in their entirety. Even the weakest and lowest-ranked tribes were unwilling to accept them.

So, for these scattered tribesfolk, their greatest wish was to join a ranked tribe, where tribe people have something to rely upon in old age, something to nurture life. They would not have to aimlessly wander through the Great Wasteland, living their life in constant fear and uncertainty.
