Chapter 78: April Herrington!

The Girl noticed the look on Alpha Azrael's face and that of Alex Bayly and she discovered how awkward the moment was at the time.

"Joking... I was joking..." She spat out quickly.

"Sorry, Too much....?" The girl asked as she looked from Alpha Azrael to Alex Bayly.

"Yeah, too much..." Azrael relaxed a bit.

"What's your name..." Alex Bayly asked as she got closer to the girl.

"I don't have a name. I was born into the slave trade, and I only have a number, which is 4. I escaped from place to place, I have been raped time and again. At times it felt like I was going to lose it all, but I was lucky at a time when I finally found a moment of escape. It still wasn't enough as those men caught on later and pursued me. If it weren't for you, I would be dead now..." The girl began to explain and immediately got teary.

Alpha Azrael was touched and moved to sympathy but he didn't dare move as he looked toward Alex Bayly for instructions on what to do.

Alex Bayly smiled, as she focused on him.

"It's okay, she alright..." Alex whispered softly in Alpha Azrael's ears.

Alpha Azrael stopped being tense and relaxed.

He moved toward 4 and pulled on her shoulders gently and compassionately. "From now on, you will be my sister, this month is April so your name will be April, and you can have my last name, Herrington..." The Alpha spoke in a commanding tone.

Everyone present was gobsmacked. It was a huge honor to be related to the Alpha. Just as ordinary guests are treated so well, one could just imagine how luxurious it is to be a member of the family.

Alex Bayly was a little shocked. In her mind, she felt her lover went overboard. Even she doesn't have his last name, how much more a stranger.

The girl on the other hand was excited. She knew it was a huge honor and that goes without saying the wealth associated with it.

"April Herrington, I love that name...From today on, my name is April.., Herrington the sister of the Alpha" The girl declared boldly.

She then went close to the Alpha and curled her arms around his arms, "Shall we go now, brother...?" She said with a jovial ebullience.

Her brazen attitude shocked even the Alpha.

"You're in the leadership role now and a representation of the Alpha as his sister, you can't be cracking all these kinds of jokes anymore. People would start looking up to you, you need to start carrying yourself with Elegance and with an air of royalty." Alex Bayly cleverly separated April from Azrael and held her closely as if talking to a loved one.

April realized what was going on and chuckled, "Oh, you're damn good.. Don't worry, I won't steal him from you, I see him as my brother anyway..." April spoke with a carefree charisma.

Alex was dumbstruck by her ability to read situations expertly and even read people correctly beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Alex looked at April and then at Azrael. Azrael understood that look, to salvage the situation, he decided to divert the attention of everyone present.

"So, I hope you've been comfortable so far...?" He spoke to no one in particular but his focus was on the other 30.

The woman who seemed somewhat like their leader spoke up at this point.

"Yes Alpha, we are greatly indebted to you. Despite being humans who happen to know about your secret, you still treat us with such kindness, and we appreciate you. However Alpha Azrael, we know that right now we carry a heavy secret and in one way or the other it might affect the pack, yet I still want to ask your good grace, if there is any chance you can let us go...?" The woman asked with her face contorted as if she was expecting a large boulder to suddenly fall on her head.

She knew in her mind she had asked too much. She was asking that this 30 be released. This could mean exposing the entire werewolf existence to the world.

Normally the price of such knowledge is either on a life and death basis or maybe accepting to be turned into a werewolf.

Although some people know about the existence of werewolves, however, the few that knew hardly counted. Most of them just wanted to be converted to werewolves so they would rather die than reveal to anyone the existence of werewolf creatures.

However this time, Alpha Azrael runs a risk of letting the secret out on the street if he decides to release this group of 30.

Alpha Azrael appeared deep in thought, he was about to speak when his beta Londan Grey entered.

"Londan..." Azrael called him immediately he set his sight on him.

Londan came in quickly and gave a slight bow.

He went towards Alpha Azrael and whispered something in his ear.

Alpha Azrael looked at Londan in shock. He then decided to follow him out, leaving the conversation with the humans hanging.

Alpha Azrael came out to meet a crowd of journalists and reporters with cameras and microphones who rushed up at him like a swarm of bees.

"Alpha Azrael, we are from the werewolf international news and award television, we've come to interview you..., is it true you slayed an immortal werewolf single-handedly?" A male reporter wearing an ID card around his neck on a blue shirt and jeans ran up to Alpha Azrael and asked.

Another female reporter jammed her microphone at the mouth of Alpha Azrael, "DTV News, Is it true you jammed your claws through the throat of Alpha James and killed him in one strike..."

Yet another came in from behind and almost slammed the microphone on the mouth of Beta Londan who stood in front of Alpha Azrael to block the persistent push by the reporters in their bid to get a word with Alpha Azrael.

Alpha Azrael looked at the swarming crowd and decided to come up with a solution.

"First of all, I am an Alpha, and this is my pack, so show me some respect...." Alpha Azrael suddenly roared and everywhere became quiet.

Not even a pin moved. The command of authority by the alpha was domineering like the whale to the sea.
