Anansi

"Really, you're going to make me repeat all of that?" Anansi asked as he tilted his head with his brows raised "I mean I could but, really…"

"No… wait No! what are you trying to say here? You want me to believe a character from folklore broke into my house".

"First of all, that is offensive. I am not just some character in folklore; I am a god!" Anansi exclaimed the last bit briefly losing his gentlemanly demeanor, Samantha just looked him in the eye before she burst out laughing, "I… need… to… sit… down" Samantha managed to utter between breaths as she made it to her sofa.

She began to calm down and looked to the guy who claimed to be, 'the Anansi'. "Okay I'm going to applaud you for doing your research and all, this is obviously some prank of the sort maybe orchestrated by Gloria, yeah I'm going to go with Gloria but a little tip if you're going to introduce yourself as Anansi you should at least mention his most famous title the trickster god. Although I do applaud you for being able to mention all the others, most people can't".

"I thought from me not mentioning that title you would be able to infer that I'm not really a fan of it" The man continued to speak as though he was truly Anansi, at this point Samantha was beginning to tire of his antics. "Okay, I don't know who you are and why you broke into my home but considering the fact you gave me a good laugh, I'm not going to call the police. Now if you don't mind could you leave, I'm really tired and could use a good night's rest" Samantha motioned for him to leave.

"You don't believe me, do you?" the man sighed, "really… what gave it away" Samantha replied to him in a sarcastic tone. The man proceeded to do something that caused Samantha's eyes to widen and for her to take step back with her disbelief clearly written over her face.

The man who was before her had morphed into an identical copy of her, clothes, hair and everything down to the slightest detail, "how about now?" she heard her own voice escape the lips of the person before her.

"How… what… how?!" Samantha began to freak out as she ran her hands through her hair, "I can see this is form is a bit disturbing to you, how about this?" he morphed into her father, "is this much better?" the form spoke in her father's voice, even mimicking the calm but stern tone her father always used to speak to her.

"Fine! I believe you, okay! I believe you… just, just turn back!" Samantha screamed to Anansi who returned back to his form with his suit and everything. Samantha just stared at him with her mouth opening and closing, countless thoughts rushed through her head but she was unable to utter a single word.

The tension in the room was palpable as both individuals remained silent staring at one another, after another minute Samantha spoke up. "Okay, Anansi… why, why are you here? What is a god, doing in my home?" Samantha gathered her courage and ask the most prominent question in her mind.

Anansi's lips curved into a smile hearing her question, "finally, I thought I would have to spend the whole night proving my identity to you. You see I've been watching you for some time now and I am convinced you are the descendant of Yaa Asantewaa-"

"Erm..." Samantha cut in, "I think you might have gotten the wrong person; my last name is Boateng, maybe there was a mix up somewhere?"

"There is no mix up, I am confident that you are the one I seek. You are the one capable of wielding this sword." Anansi proceeded to pull out an Akrafena, seemingly out of nowhere, the blade was a true beauty with a length of 80 centimeters. The blade had a pure golden handle with the adinkra symbol symbolizing humility, strength and wisdom etched unto its handle, the blade itself was pitch black in color with two diamond shape holes in the midst of the blade.

Samantha felt a strong attraction as she laid eyes on the sword, she subconsciously reached out to take the sword causing Anansi to smile at her. Samantha caressed the sword running her finger along the blade, "beautiful" she muttered unconsciously.

"Of course it is, after all I did make that sword for Yaa Asantewaa after all" Anansi spoke with his pride clear in his voice. "What?" Samantha looked up from the sword after hearing that. "Yes, it was around the time when the white men began their search for the golden stool, Yaa Asantewaa tried her best to fight against them but alas her power was not enough. So, she began her quest to find me and request my help, me being the great and merciful god I am forged that blade. With metal taken directly from the land of the gods, I forged the sword you now hold in your hands. The others gods seeing this decided to bless this sword with their abilities, granting its wielder with the physique of Tano, speed and flight of Bia and finally the power of Onyankopon himself, with this power she was able to stop the white men."

"Okay that's impossible, I've studied a lot about Asantewaa and nowhere in history is anything about a sword like this mentioned"

"History recorded down is almost never accurate, there are a lot of major events some even recent that the populous has been made to forget and as for impossible, is my existence alone not enough proof for you. In Kuntunse right now beings you consider to be impossible are about to have a battle the scale of which you cannot begin to imagine, trust me when I say nothing is impossible."

"When all is said and done you still haven't told me, why you are here? Why you want me to wield this Akrafena?"

Anansi gained a solemn look after hearing her question, "An evil has risen and as of now you are the only person who can stop it and save everyone."
