A legend's awakening

He woke up breathless and in a cold sweat. "Despite it being 6 years I still dream of that day," he says out loud. 'Everytime I close my eyes I see that bastard's face and hear him laughing at me as if I am nothing but a joke. If I get my hands on him he'll beg for mercy.' He thought viciously.

After he died he was surprised to find himself living in a newborn's body. After crying for several hours and frightening his new birth parents he came to accept his new identity in this new world, a world that looked like ancient China.

"There exists no Alexander anymore. My name is Zhi Feng," announced Zhi Feng in his mind. Zhi means 'ambitious' and Feng means' sharp blade'. His new mother and father are Zhi Ju and Zhi Genghis respectively.

His father is a farmer of the profession while his mother works as a seamstress. His father is a large man with a wild unkempt beard and muscles the size of boulders due to the hard physical work he performs. On the other hand, there's his mother who, despite not being a jade-skinned beauty, was still a woman of beauty with a kind look in her eyes.

For these past six years, they have lived peacefully together tending their field while selling their leftovers in the nearby village called 'Flowing river village' because of their proximity to a large river that provides both fresh water and fish.

'Alright, that's it no more wallowing in pity. I'm gonna prepare and improve myself so that I can have a great life this time around. Looking around it's safe to assume that I have landed in ancient china so I reckon I can become a scholar by taking the imperial examination and joining politics or a general by joining the army' Zhi Feng thinks in his mind while planning his future in this ancient past.

So for the next six years, he plans to prepare both his body and mind. Preparing and building up his body is not a difficult task physical exercise, proper nutrition and sufficient sleep will take care of that. To prepare and temper his mind however is another story. "how does one temper his mind?" he asks himself sitting on a hill while overlooking miles of farmland. "I suppose reading books and meditating will suffice. But that means I need to be able to read which I can't. So acquiring a literate person to be my teacher is crucial for my plans. I think I'll have to look in the village for someone who can read." He says out loud knowing that nobody is nearby.

"Alright, now that everything is planned out I can take action. Because not planning is planning for failure after all." He tells himself with a smile. Right after saying that he looks up at the sky and notices the sky getting dark and decides to go home. While he's running home however he fails to notice a yellow glint in his eyes before it vanished as if it never existed.
