In other people's eyes, Kyran's defiant attitude toward the Dragon Emperor lessened because he was too focused on maintaining his domain. When Kyran summoned his domain, his primary target was Cyneah, with the Dragon Emperor as secondary only. But because the latter possessed far greater magic energy and mage level, maintaining the domain took a lot of toll on Kyran's mind and body. He also had to be careful not to alert the Macabre Glacier's sentient of Shaiha's presence.
