The Heist Part 2

Once the group made sure that Selim was good to go they repeated this process and hacked the camera in the main hall too.

The architecture of this manor was quite weird. Even though they were supposed to be on the ground level when they took into account the floor plans right now they were actually on the floor -1.

The entrance of the house was a stairway made out of marble leading upwards. So when you came in through the front entrance you would be in 1 floor higher than the ground level.

Just like in the backyard there was a knight statue with a sword that facing downwards in the middle of the room. However, compared to the one outside this one was in better shape. After all, it still had its head and all of the arms. There was not even any cracks on it. That was probably because this one was located inside being protected from the wear and tear of the weather.

On the left side of the group, there was a spiral staircase leading upwards. On the right, there was also another staircase but this one was grander. It was not hard to imagine that this room was used to be used for holding balls. The nobles who came through the main entrance would be announced at the head of the staircase and they would walk down elegantly. Linri wondered if they would ever imagine that their family would end like in poverty today. If they did would they still live an extravagant life that they did? Not caring about their descendants?

Linri checked the time it was 2.58

In the manor, only 2 guards were patrolling this giant 3 story high building. They would patrol the perimeters every ten minutes and that was the time frame they could use to sneak in. The problem was getting past them. The guards were going to check each and every one the rooms one by one, floor by floor.

However, they already had a solution to this problem. Currently, they were on the floor -1 so it was most likely the floor used by servants.

Linri and the others made their way into the laundry room. Because this was an old Victorian style manor it had a vent for all the laundries. So when the guards leave their post for a short time, they were going to use that short time frame to climb through here and make their way past them.

"Leslie." Linri called her.

Upon hearing her name Leslie nodded and took out the rope that on her shoulders. She tied it around her waist and took off her shoes handing them to Luke. Then Leslie climbed inside the vent and transformed her feet and hands. She climbed to the first floor and once she made it she saw the hatch. She pushed it open slowly but it didn't give enough space for a human to pass through. The only way that she can get through was if she ripped it apart. That was not possible as if she did that it would make too much noise but what if she only ripped apart the joints? Well, it was worth the try. So Leslie pushed the hatch open once more but this time with her other hand she checked for joints. She found one that was reverse V-shaped. It was folding when the hatch was closing and stretching when the hatch was pulled it open. Leslie pulled it apart with her free hand. It came easily. I guess it must have been weakened because of the passage of time and lack of any maintenance. She did the same for the other joint and now, nothing was keeping this hatch from fully opening.

She crawled outside and pulled the rope twice. Now the others were climbing the rope and made their way here.

The time was 3.06

Before the guards returned to their post they had at least 10 more minutes. The group quietly made their way into an unassuming room in the floor. When this manor was still being used it must have been a study room. However, the inside was not broken down like the rest of the house there wasn't even a single speck of dust here and there was a desk in the middle of the room with 2 monitors. One was showing all the cameras inside the house while the other one was a computer.

Now it was time for Hayato to work his magic. He used his nanobots to invade the computer. The computer was password protected but because they already had the password it was not hard to unlock it. The problem lay in the fact that they needed to call an elevator to their room. The room they were in was the entrance. The real research facility was underground and they had to hack the elevator and call it here but to do so they had to log in with a user account. Sarah obviously did not give them her account. If she did that would be crazy. The government could easily capture her and charge her with treason.

The solution was Hayato's nanobots. While they are waiting anxiously they were downloading the files inside the computer to themselves. Once they downloaded everything they could pick one of the previously used passwords and used it. Still, that was not a sure-fire plan as the computer might just log the entrants and not the user names and passwords. The other solution was Hayato uploading a new program into the computer and calling the elevator directly here but if they did that they had to destroy this computer otherwise it would leave a trace to them. The problem with that was if they did this it would alert the guards down there.

While Linri was still waiting nervously The bookcase to their left opened up and there was an elevator behind it.

"We are in." Hayato sounded quite satisfied with himself.
