Second Meeting

When they arrived at the orphanage Linri was still holding the back of his head. He was also thanking the gods that Spark picked 2x speed instead of strength otherwise he might have to go to ER from a head concussion.

Linri walked into the reception and told the Sister at the counter that they were here to see Brie. Sister gave them a weird look but didn't say anything and went to call Brie while asking them to wait.

After 5 minutes Sister arrived with Brie.

"Big Sister!" Brie shouted and ran towards Jaime. She immediately went on to hug her. Strangely enough, he could see the enjoyment in Jaime's eyes. Weird was she a single child or something?

After having her fill of Jaime Brie finally noticed the existence of Linri. She looked at Linri with hateful eyes. Because of him, she had to spend the entire night in the prayer room.

"You!"

"Me?" Linri pointed at himself.

"Because of you I-" was saying Brie before being cut off by Linri

"Wait a second. This is no place to talk. Sister, you wouldn't mind if we took Brie out to play right?"

"As long as she is here before 5 pm it should be alright. Just don't get into any trouble alright?" said Sister. She was especially looking at Brie while saying the last part.

"Yes, Sister!" and Brie immediately dragged Jaime out.

Linri followed after them.

"Where should we go?" Jaime turned around and asked Linri. Since she was not from London it was obvious that she wouldn't know any good places here.

"There should be a pastry about 2 blocks from here. I heard that their cake was excellent?" Linri knew that Brie was into sweet things and he thought maybe buying her food would make things easier for himself.

Once they arrived at the pastry they found a table and sat down. From the way she acted Jaime almost seemed like the original. Linri didn't it find it too weird as he already saw about this in the train but he was thinking that maybe Spark was being influenced by 'Jaime' still unless the other party admitted herself he couldn't be too sure.

He was at least better in that department as his personality was extremely similar to Linri in the first place.

"Anyway order to anything you want girls. It's on me" said Linri. Currently, he had a hefty pocket change. He could understand his father's intentions. He wanted Linri to show off in front of Jaime. Arkady thought that Linri had a thing for Jaime but Linri didn't mind as he himself mislead Arkady to think that way to make it easier for them to let Jaime stay at the house.

"You serious? You are not gonna back down from your promise right?" Brie asked as she was sceptical about Linri.

"Yep, you can eat till your little tummy bursts. This would make it easier for both of us actually." said Linri.

"Wow, you are the best!" said Brie and seemed to ignore Linri's rude remark. That was mainly because Brie liked sweets but they did not give her anything too sweet or too salty in the orphanage. The sisters were telling them they should stay away from worldly distractions in order to feel closer to God. As they were still children they could not let them eat gruel every day and let them eat some normal food. Still, things like cakes were a luxury and they were not allowed.

Once the waiter came Brie ordered everything which Linri expected. So he and Jaime did not order for anything else aside from some lemonade.

"Anyway, Jaime why don't you tell Brie about why we are here?"

"No." Jaime answered simply.

Linri did not expect that. He was actually thinking Jaime was on board with bringing Brie along but the results indicated otherwise.

"It's your call. Just know that she is gonna end up there anyway." said Linri simply. He would have wanted a bodyguard but he was not gonna argue Jaime over this. There were still his parents so he should be safe at home. Still, some of his plans had to be pushed backwards which he didn't really like.

Jaime just looked at him but did not say anything else.

"What are you not telling me?" asked Brie. She was quite curious that there was something which Jaime did not want her to know.

"Nothing important"

"Oh yeah? I remember him saying he found my brother and him being at somewhere called Autumnfall is that true?" asked Brie there were some determination and some kind of eagerness in her eyes.

"No that was a lie. He just needed to find me so he lied to you." Jaime did not hesitate to throw Linri under the bus.

"Really? Then why are you still together with him?" Brie asked suspiciously.

"It's for a job. Why do you think he paid for our food? There is no such thing as a free lunch in the world" said Jaime

Linri still did not understand Jaime's actions. He found her behaviour quite irrational and he started to get annoyed by that.

"Is that so? I did not know that I was that despicable. Not even buying lunch for my 'friends'." said Linri displeased. He did not wanna stop Jaime as he did not know the reason she wanted to stop Brie from going to Autumnfall but he was not going to let her badmouth him for no reason as well.

Jaime looked at Linri with a complicated gaze.

Brie wanted to say something but before she could do so their order had arrived.

They started eating the cake but the atmosphere in the table was quite tense. At last, Brie couldn't stop herself and asked.

"What is she not telling me?" looking towards Linri.
