"No" Jaime answered promptly. Linri was confused as to why she had refused.
"But why though?"
"Because I can't write." Linri looked at Jaime blankly.
"What do you mean you can't write?"
"As simple as it sounds I can't write and I don't like writing."
"It doesn't have to be good just write something. I mean you already saw what I write and it was awful even you said that. What I am trying to say is it doesn't have to be good just write something and we will see if it is true or not."
"No" Seeing her refuse again Linri started to become annoyed. He simply can not understand why was she so adamant about refusing.
"Okay then tell me why and by that, I don't mean just saying you can't write give me a thorough explanation."
"Listen carefully then, I CAN'T WRITE PERIOD. Before you give me that look think about my characters Jaime and Brie. Between the two of them, Brie has a darker past but that was Diego's doing think about my initial concept 'a girl who has lost her parents and searching for her brother' then look at Jaime 'a girl who lost her parents and trying to survive in this world independently'. Can you see a connection between them? Of course, you can it is so simple they are both orphans and do you know why? Because I can't be bothered with writing an NPC I am not going to use. I am already struggling with writing those 2 and you would expect me to write an additional character. Also what about their biographies they are also so simple, one is a troubled child who is kept being sent to other institutes and other is some kind of second coming of Sherlock Holmes but I never wrote why she was so good at detective work. It's not that I don't want to it's because I can't. Simply put I don't have creativity. Even Brissa was edited in Jaime's background. Oh yeah abilities, how can I forget talking about abilities. Why did you think that Jaime is an attribute user while Brie has her own ability the answer is because I started making Brie first but because I couldn't come up with anything I just made Jaime first to start playing and figure things out as I go. Truth be told between the two of use you are better suited for this but you are not focused. You just add things you find cool and forget about the initial stuff; if you can stick to one thing you can be a better writer. So do just that and don't involve me in this stuff." (Author's note: Sounds like the current arc :P)
When Jaime was rumbling in a frustrated manner Linri did not know how to answer her. It seemed like she was really feeling bad about her inability to write anything. I mean once she explained it that way Max could see that she was telling the truth and not making up anything. What she said about him was also true I mean look at the body he was in possession of right now. It was half kitsune half werewolf and also a 'chosen one' of the gods. He had added in so much stuff that he didn't even know how to organize his own species. Was he human after all weren't werewolves supposed to be human so was he a quarter human but if he was only a quarter human wouldn't that make him a kitsune since he was half? Oh yeah thinking along those lines then why was the bloodlines in equilibrium since he was half a kitsune shouldn't it be stronger and dominate it? Or were werewolves a completely different species from humans? Man, he should have spent more time thinking about these before just making it all up. Also why a werewolf and a kitsune one was from western mythology and the other one was from the eastern just how the hell did his mind worked that he thought it would be cool to combine them. Nah who was he kidding he still thought it was a cool idea but that was beside the point. The point was he had tried to combine so many things that he did not know anything. It was like you read so many books in your life that when someone asks what is your favourite one suddenly you become quiet and unable to choose. I mean look at him he can not even answer a simple question of what was his own species.
"Hey? You alright you dosed off suddenly?" Jaime asked him concernedly upon seeing his blank look.
"Oh? To be honest no suddenly I feel depressed, I blame you though."
"Me? What did I do? If you can't take constructive criticism it's not my fault."
"No not that. It's just that I noticed if I want to learn about the truth of this matter I have to wait for more than half a year. We haven't even been here for 3 months and thinking about that I became depressed suddenly. It's like nothing I do matters and we will be stuck here forever."
"Hey, you really alright? I mean weren't you normally upbeat and always kept on talking about definitely going home no matter what. So why are suddenly so depressed what's different from back then and now?"
"I don't know maybe perspective? It's like when I first arrived I still wasn't aware how hard this was going to be. I thought everything was going to be easy since I knew about the future like those reincarnation novels with OP MCs you know but I never really thought about how hard they suffered. Just look at us we are just normal people who haven't suffered a single day in our lives. We aren't even from a poor background just average. We haven't even starved a single day in our lives let alone feeling pain. At worst maybe we went through psychological pain but that's about it and now look at us. Always so beat up, always in so much pain both physically and mentally. One thing I am gonna say is getting murdered brutally each night definitely didn't help." Jaime became silent upon noticing that too and looked at her arm. He was right this was definitely different from books it was so painful and hard. No amount of descriptions about how hard it was could explain its severity. Actually, that was the reason why they had that illusion in the first place. The books always described how unlikely X was or how hard Y was but the hero always succeeded in the end but what about them? They were no heroes if anything they were the farthest thing from the heroes; they were selfish, greedy, scared, arrogant, insecure, afraid.
So they just sat there in silence looking at the calm lake.
"Max?"
"Yeah?"
"Why don't we just stay here?"
"I don't know... Before that, I still have to find a way to survive."
"Yeah, forgot that you were a walking time bomb" Jaime answered dejectedly. The uncertainty of the future was scaring her. What if Max did not survive? Just the thought of it was enough to bleed her heart in pain. Seeing her like this Linri put his arm around her head and made her lean against his shoulder.
"Well, at least there is one thing I figured out from this."
"What?"
"We have to walk a single step at a time and push forward. We can't think about doing grand things. Just do what we can and that's enough. Grand goals set you up for grand failures. So just push it all away and leave it to your future self and do what you want to do now and that is enough. If we can return home that's fine but even if we can't it doesn't matter as long as we are alive. After all, we are only human... I mean I am not human but you catch my drift." said Linri in a positive manner. Letting go of his goal actually made him feel like a giant burden was lifted off of him. He was never one to plan for his future trying hard like this was never his forte anyway so why not just stop and do what you are best at?
"That actually sounds good. So if we should do what we want now I know what to do. Let's go get ice cream."
"Sure"
Hello Again! I, unfortunately, have to inform you that I won't be updating 2 chapters a day for at least about a week or more. Truth is when I said I was gonna update twice a day I was berated by my kind of editor friend Light who is also the inspiration for Jaime. Who knows I might even make a mass release at the end of the month.
Anyway as always thanks for reading and have a nice day :3
