Prologue

A ten-year-old girl was sitting on her bed with a paper swan in her hands, head bowed, with tears in her eyes. She wanted to hold them back until the woman sitting beside her said "You should be happy for him that he has found a rich family to live with" She sobbed at this but never said a word.

It reminded her of that 'incident'.

A match lited the room. A five-year-old girl was looking at the match with curiosity sitting beside a bed in a small room wearing a white summer dress. She was so close to it that the small blue flame could be seen in her eyes. She was disturbed by the door as it was opened by someone. The match slipped from her hands and fell on the bed sheets which took the flames instantly and soon the whole bed was on fire. She was standing in the middle of the flames looking at them with her mouth shut. She admired the the beauty of those crimson flames with a tiny of blue in between.

"You little thing!" said a voice beside her as the speaker grabbed her arm and dragged her out of the room. "Fire! Fire! Fire!" the woman shouted as they both stood in an open corridor. Then the woman threw the little girl on the floor but Jason caught her before she could hit the ground.

"Don't cry! There are a lot of other kids here who will play with you just like Jason did." The woman tried to console her, but all the little girl could think of was her twin brother. She loved him dearly. He was her only biological family. Being an orphan, she was afraid of people but he was by her side every time she sat alone. He was still willing to be with her, but he was recently adopted by a wealthy family looking for a single child. She was abandoned.

"You seem to dislike making new friends. That is fine, but don't be sad. You will meet new people. And he'll return one day!" She immediately glanced at the woman who was squeezing her hand. She remembered his last sentences.

"Someday, I'll come to you. You'll look for me if I don't. Is that acceptable?"

"Yes he will return." She smiled at the lady. She wrapped her small arms around the woman's body.
