Not So Happy Reunion

So after explaining that Ari would be allowing only so many people to speak with her a day in exchange for some of their energy Marcus and the others started back towards the old book store and their home. Once inside Marcus had taken the lead and upon reaching the stairs that lead up to their home he froze. He'd picked up a pleasant but strange scent and was more worried about walking in on something then he was worried his parents could be hurt.

"What's the hold up lad?" asked Old Ben as he made his way to the stairs yet it took his aged nose a bit longer to pick up the scent then it had the kids but when he did he added, "I see maybe it's best you wait here for a minute and I'll go check on them."

Thus Old Ben started up the stairs while the three friends stayed down stairs looking through the books and talking. Okay Rebekah was the only one really looking through the books but she couldn't help that she like books almost a such as she loved Marcus.
