Not Blind?

It wasn't long before Marcus' parents noticed that he was getting around really good for a blind baby but it would still be some time before they would find out the truth about his eyes. In fact it was shortly before his first birthday while crawling around the house when a stranger, a drunk lion warrior, came in and tried to force himself on Lilly. It was at this point that Marcus also said his first word.

"Lio Li" squeaked the little infant from where he sat.

Just then Marcus' eyes began to glow and the floor boards around him began to crack as sparks jumped from his finger tips to the near by nails and then from nail to nail until it crawled up the lions legs electrocuting him to the point he passed out but not before his testicles exploded and his penis was severely burned. So with his paws on his groin the lion fell to the floor and Marcus returned to his happy little self.

As for Lilly she was shaken up from the whole ordeal but in no way scared. It was odd in fact how she'd seen all that had happened yet wasn't scared one bit. Now she also wouldn't tell her husband just yet about Marcus' weird gift really because she didn't know what to exactly tell him. That is until it happened again.

This time it was at the forge while James was working, Lilly had brought little Marcus over to see his father and to tell him it was almost time for dinner. He was so wrapped up lately with one of his special projects that he often lost track of time. So with Marcus in arms Lilly walked over to the forge and was about to tell him to come eat when three coyote bandits stepped out of the shadows and the leader drew a sword on her while his goons aimed their crossbows at him.

"What do you want? I've told you multiple times I don't make weapons for bandits nor do I have any money. Let my family go and you can have those shovels over there." replied James pointing the red hot price of steal in his paws at the leader.

"Maybe I need to teach you a lesson!" snapped the bandit leader as he ripped Marcus free from his mother's grasp and shoving her to the ground to which one of the goons took aim with his crossbow but when he took a calming breath what come out scared him for one usually only sees their breath in very cold environments not near the hot fires of a forge.

"Cy Cry" chimed little Marcus which everyone except Lily took it as him just starting to cry while she knew it was him doing something weird again.

Which was exactly what was happening because as the bandit took aim and fired his crossbow he and his weapon including the bolt were frozen solid. This also forced the other bandit to fire at James who had no time to dodge yet little Marcus tilted his head and cooed, "She Da!"

Just then as the bolt would've struck James in the chest it seemed to deflect of some kind of protective barrier made completely of light. Now also by this point the village guard where alerted to the attack as well as the bandit leader who through Marcus right into the forge's fire to which he laughed clapping all the while his eye glowed and a blue mist seemed to flow from his paws causing the forge's fire to not hurt him.

James then quickly scooped up his son figuring whatever had protected him from the bolt would also protect him from the fire. Which it had as well as he'd managed to withdraw Marcus from the flames and stand up right just the guards arrived and drew swords on the scared and trembling bandits. The captain of the guard looked at the frozen bandit before turning to face James with a very questioning glance which included a raised eyebrow. He was a bulky timber wolf and didn't rust these foxes one bit.

"James what happened here?" asked the captain as his men lead the unfrozen bandits off.

"They tried to attack me when James used an ice ruin on the bandit." replied Lilly with a smile as she walked over to James and Marcus and kissing them on the cheek. "So if you don't mind sir our dinner is getting cold plus its getting late and I need to put little Marcus to bed soon."

Well after some persuading the captain finally let Lilly, James and Marcus go to their house across the street where they sat very quietly at the dinner table eating or at least for the most part.

"So he can do magic?" softly asked James with a glance over at Marcus who tilted his head slightly and gave his father a smile.

"He's also not blind. He saw us in danger and responded. Besides his eyes glow when he uses magic. I think the gods have a real big purpose for him." replied Lilly with a smiled.

"That may be true dear but how do we hide his magic?" asked James worried.

"Just the way I'd when that drunk lion stumbled in here." replied Lilly with a smile before she realized that she'd just admitted to lying to him.

"You told me that you struck him in then balls with a hot pan." replied James with a sigh, "So this wasn't the first time he's used magic."

"No just the second. I only lied because I was afraid you'd want to get rid of him out of fear or worry." confessed Lilly as tears began to form in her eyes she felt a paw on hers.

"Lilly dear I'd never want to get rid of our son, we are family and family means no one ever gets abandoned or left behind." replied James as he pulled her close to him and started to kiss her neck. "I love you and him too much to ruin our family."

"Then what do we do?" asked Lilly partially pushing away.

"Tomorrow I have to make my normal trip into the city for deliveries and supplies. I will seek out a wise man there and see if he knows something about this." replied James with a smile before giving her a kiss.

The happy family then finished their meal before heading off to bed for in the morning things were about to get very interesting t the point that none of them would be the same again.
