Chapter 83: Catching up!!!

Lancelot Jr stood rooted to the spot as his emotions surged.

For some reason, he felt something sprout inside of him, a forceful attractive energy that had such an immense effect on him as he looked into the eye of Alisha.

Instinctively he held both of her hands and she blushed slightly, her playful tantrum broke down immediately and she became so expectant.

Her heartbeat surged.

The beating was getting fiercer and her breathing was unsteady.

She had been worried over the future of their relationship, for so long she hoped and wished Lancelot Jr would acknowledge her as a woman and not just a friend as he had done while they were growing up.

Lancelot Jr placed a hand on her cheek caressing it softly. "You're more than my best friend, you're my partner, you are my buddy, my family, you are also my...lover" as soon as Lancelot Jr said those words Alisha Morgan gasped loudly.

She hoped for this outcome but she never expected it.

All through the six years that she stood by his side, and wept silently, she hoped and prayed that more would come from their undefined relationship.

Even at a time, the mom (Mrs. Morgan) opted to tell her to bring herself and Lancelot Jr to her for protection, but Alisha refused.

Alisha weighed the danger her mom might bring because of her figure as an affiliate of the elementals she decided to not add unnecessary risk to the already huge one she has to go through in protecting Lancelot Jr.

Now 6 years later, he had woken up and he is saying all the words she had dreamt and imagined in her mind that he would say to her, it felt like a dream come through.

She couldn't hide her excitement.

They hugged tightly for the next few minutes, time seemed to fade away,

Lancelot Jr's heart was beating so fast, and the spirit speaker inside him had to speak out, "Steady your heart son or you will force it to burst out" she joked.

A crucial moment came when a silent morning breeze blew in, everything felt perfect.

Feelings surged high, instinctively, Lancelot Jr cupped Alisha's face gently and placed a kiss on her lips, they were lost in the moment before a monk entered unannounced, he then cleared his throat, 'hmmmmmmm'

They broke apart and looked awkwardly at the monk.

"Senior Lui???" Alisha was startled.

"Alisha, Two brothers called Zain and Lamil are looking for you..." Senior Lui paused.

"And please don't do this here, you two, the monks are in a constant state of meditation, this action could really cause one to lose focus"

Alisha smiled sheepishly "Sorry Senior Lui, we will find a place where the monks won't be able to find us or 'lose focus" Alisha joked

"Very funny, when you're ready, you could introduce your friend to the entire monastery" Senior Lui added.

"Yes Senior Lui, I would"

Monk Lui then turned around and left, his burgundy robe was billowing in the wind as he left.

Lancelot Jr was silent all through, all he did was pay attention to the exchange.

Alisha now turned to Lancelot Jr, she had a slight blush, a butterfly feeling was swelling within her, she couldn't describe the joy she felt

She wanted to run and shout and tell the world about how delighted she was.

She felt on top of the world. On the surface, she looked calm and blushed now and then she would stare at Lancelot Jr every 2 seconds as if without her stare Lancelot Jr would disappear. "Let's go to meet Lamil and Zain" Lancelot Jr finally spoke up, disrupting the awkward silences that had invaded the atmosphere for a few minutes.

"Hmm," Alisha nodded and walked out, with

Lancelor Jr following her in tow.

They remained silent as they walked to the front of two figures who stood by a tree. They were tall men.

One had a red mark on his forehead and his eyes were glowing momentarily. He had a serious expression.

The cloth he wore was a sleeveless Jean top with long brown trousers. He carried two huge axes on his back.

The other was wearing a black leather jacket top, his eyes were blue, and he also wore it over a hakama. An assassin pant trouser. He had a long spear tied to his back.

"Zain" Lancelot Jr spoke excitedly turning to the broad-chested man with a red mark on his forehead.

He hugged him "Brother I thought you'd never wake up, welcome back."

They separated and Lancelot turned to the blue-eyed tall youth.

"Lamil"

He hugged him also tightly, and patted his back , Lamil hugged him back, he was a very close friend of Lancelot Jr and would never betray him. Lancelot Jr trusted him that much.

"l missed you brother, welcome back"

Lancelot Jr smiled, "l must have missed a lot. What of Xavier, Rob, Rick, and Gerald?" Lancelot Jr asked, now extremely curious.

"It's a long story brother, I'm surprised that Alisha hadn't told you everything. I hope you guys have made out by now"

Lamil joked and ran away allowing Lancelot to give chase and punch him playfully, "dude" Lancelot Jr feigned dissatisfaction but smiled after, he just couldn't hold out playful anger the way Alisha had done earlier.

"Okay guys let's enter and catch up," Zain said as he chuckled and shook his head.

After a while they sat on the floor in a round setting, looking at each other. "It's good to be back," Lancelot Jr said with a smile, "so what did I miss?"

Lamil wore a serious expression and started speaking, in his mind he had prepared all the bad news, he had to release it one after the other, "After the attack by the elementals on the roadside, we really didn't know what happened, but somehow we managed to survive 3 laser beams which could kill a god, but then you were unconscious, we knew your unconscious state had to do with our safety but the danger wasn't over."

"Luckily for us, after you passed out, General

Wang showed up and saved us from the elementals and we managed to escape."

"However, you had been in your unconscious state ever since, breathing but not awake. We didn't know what to do, we got to a house that was left uninhabited and laid you on a bed, we all decided to stay for a while."

"After 3 months, we were unaware that we had been tracked by the skeleton organization, before we could make a run for it, they got to us and rounded us up. "

"We didn't have any escape route so we decided to have a showdown. We were all united in that encounter, Alisha was by your side all the way and protected your body with everything she could, her injuries are healed now but back then she took quite the hit for you." Lamil spoke as clearly as he could.

Lancelot Jr glanced at Alisha momentarily, his eyes were filled with emotions, it surged and he felt extremely grateful, as he mouthed 'thank you' in a low tone and turned to face Lamil, signifying for him to continue.

"Gerald Guye and Rick Warren were Killed in that encounter, Rick sacrificed himself to protect Alisha in the end. Rob Drill and Xavier Xu were captured, while the three of us managed to escape with your unconscious body."

Lamil stopped and sighed as tears roll down his eyes, "They died heroes, even though initially they didn't bond with us, I vowed to avenge them but we were too weak."

"We kept running and hiding, the world had turned into turmoil. Over the next two years, a lot of elementals were killed, Emperor Wang fled and was exiled, General Wang was not seen ever since, the humans reigned supreme alongside the skeleton organization."

"During those two years, a group of people fell out of the sky, they were known as Variants. Their blood was used by the skeleton organization to brand weapons, it was lethal to elementals, so many were killed."

"The humans weren't safe either, some human bodies were invaded by the consciousness of the variants and their families were brutally murdered"

Lamil was sobbing uncontrollably, Alisha patted him on the back to comfort him. "We met a girl during one of our hiding escapades, she hid us from her parents, unknown to any of us, the body of both parents had been invaded, they brutally murdered the girl before we knew it."

"By the time we came from our hiding spots she was torn into shreds, her bones were scattered all over the place."

"The variants are extremely sinister, only strong and evil humans can coexist side by side with them. Feeble humans were killed ruthlessly.

After intense fighting for the past two years, a new human leader rose. His name is Grom Muther."

"Grom Muther, was a void assassin, who managed to end the great war momentarily. The variants and humans learned to coexist, but the variants were given powers as overloads, they do whatsoever they wish and plundered whatsoever they wanted."

"They acted wantonly and no one could stop them. Grom Muther ensured that the humans were to an extent protected, but the elementals couldn't be protected, we are all on the run".
