Yoko's Examination

Three months had passed since Yoko joined the academy, and she had unlocked several talents in her system. The talents that she had unlocked were Ninja Arts talent (novice) talent rank, Shuriken Jutsu talent (average) talent rank, Taijutsu talent (average) talent rank, Ninjutsu talent (good) talent rank, and Kenjutsu talent (average) talent rank.

Yoko and Mabui made friends with Akane, who is an orphan just like them. After the academy, Yoko spent most of her time either studying in the academy library, training with Mabui and Akane, or training by herself in the academy training ground.

Yoko is currently practicing Ninjutsu on the academy's training ground, she had read about these Ninjutsus in the academy library. The three Ninjutsus are the transformation jutsu, the clone jutsu, and the substitution jutsu.

Sujiro, the homeroom teacher of Yoko class, saw Yoko on the training ground doing a couple of hand seals, and then two clones popped out next to her. It was a perfect execution of the clone jutsu.

Sujiro's eyes widened in shock as he watched two clones emerge next to Yoko, who smiled at the sight of them. She then cancelled the clone jutsu, went through another set of hand seals, and substituted herself with a wooden log.

Sujiro was stunned; he then thought to himself, "It took her only three months since joining the academy to learn two of the graduation prerequisites, Jutsus, all by herself. " incredible", Then Yoko performs another set of hand seals and transforms into Mabui.

Yoko walked into one of the academy windows and saw her reflection. She smiled when she saw that she had executed the transformation jutsu perfectly.

She continued to practice the three jutsus over and over again.

"I need to report this to Lord Raikage as soon as possible. She is a genius; she could graduate at any time now." Before rushing to the Raikage Tower, Sujiro thought about himself.

In The Raikage Office

The Third Raikage was doing the paper work while Ay and Bee were discussing an important matter with him.

Suddenly, the trio heard a knock on his door. The Third Raikage gazed at the door and said, "Enter." Sujiro entered the Raikage office and bowed to the trio.

When the Third Raikage saw Sujiro, he raised his eyebrow and asked, "Sujiro, what a surprise! How can I help you?"

Sujiro stood up straight and respectfully addressed the Third Raikage, "Lord Raikage." I came to report to you about something; you asked me to keep an eye on Yoko Ichimaru and report her progress in the academy to you on a regular basis."

The trio got interested when they heard this from Sujiro, and he started to explain to them how Yoko flawlessly performs the three academy jutsus that the students learn in their final year."

The trio smiled widely when they heard this, but Sujiro continued, "It has only been three months since she joined; how could she have leaned these three jutsus?"

The Third Raikage smiled and answered, "You might not know, but Yoko is a very intelligent child; she had a chakra reserved of a Chunin and excellent control. She is also skilled in medical jutsu; in fact, I survived thanks to her."

Sujiro widened his eyes and asked in curiosity, "What do you mean, Lord Raikage?" The Third Raikage began his explanation, saying, "I nearly lost my life when I remained behind to confront the Mist Shinobi, allowing everyone to retreat." When she found me, Yoko used her medical jutsu, which she learned from her mother, to save me. Because of her impressive chakra control, it was simple for her to learn the basic academy jutsus on her own. I assume she found these jutsus in the academy library.

After he heard the Third Raikage explanation, Sujiro nodded in understanding. The Third Raikage was tapping his finger on the desk while smiling, then gaining a brilliant idea: "Sujiro, I want you to examine her theoretically and practically tomorrow. I want the exam content to cover everything that is taught in the academy from the first year to the final year. Do I make myself clear?"

Sujiro nodded his head. "As you wish, Lord Raikage, but may I ask why you want me to examine her?" With a persistent smirk, the Raikage responded to Sujiro, "I believe little Yoko will be one of the Hidden Cloud pillars in the future, regardless of whether she is a genius or not." "If she passes my test, we will move her to her final year, and she will take the graduation exam in six months with the rest of the academy final year class." 

Sujiro, Ay, and Bee were shocked to hear what the Third Raikage had just said. Sujiro calmed himself and nodded. "Your wish is my command, Lord Raikage; if you will excuse me, I have an exam to prepare."

The Third Raikage waved his hand, and Sujiro left the Raikage office.

After Sujiro left the office, Ay asked his father, "Pops, is it wise to move Yoko to the final year class?" The Raikage looked seriously at Ay and said to him, "You should know how much tension there is between us, the leaf, the rock, and especially the mist village," the Third Raikage said, glancing at Ay and Bee. A war could breakout at any moment. "If Yoko is a genius, we will need her in the war, and you will need to make her ready for war, Ay."

Ay nodded seriously, and Bee began to rap. "Killer Bee will be there and show her how to be killer-Yoko, oh yeah," Ay said, eyebrow twitching, before yelling at Bee, "Shut up, Bee."

The Third Raikage burst out laughing, "HAHAHAHAHA."

Next Day

After the class, Sujiro looked at Yoko and said, "Yoko, you stay behind." The students were confused, but they quickly left the class. When only Yoko and Sujiro were left in the classroom, Sujiro summoned a sheet of paper from the storage scroll and handed it to Yoko, who looked questionably at him.

Sujiro smirked and said to Yoko, "This is an evolution exam; you don't need to be alarmed; this exam will have no effect on your final score in the academy graduation exam."

Yoko nodded in understanding and began answering the exam sheet. Yoko noticed that some of the exam questions were not from the first year martials, but she knew the answers to these questions thanks to her photographic memory and the time she had spent in the library reading the books that were available.

After answering all the questions, Yoko handed the exam sheet back to Sujiro, who started checking her answers. He was shocked because all of Yoko's answers were perfect.

Sujiro looked at Yoko in a new light and smiled at her. "You did well, Yoko. Now it is time for the practical exam. Come with me to the training ground."

 In The Academy Training Ground

Sujiro handed Yoko ten shurikens and said, "Yoko, we will start your practical exam by testing your shuriken jutsu. You are required to stand behind the line and try to hit the target in front of you."

Yoko nodded to Sujiro, and she stood behind the line. Then she started throwing the shurikens at the targets, just like she trained with Mabui and Akane. "SWISH, SWISH, SWISH."

The shurikens struck the targets, nearly hitting the center of the targets.

Sujiro smirked at Yoko's performance and thought, "Now I understand why Lord Raikage is keeping an eye on this girl; she is really talented."

Sujiro then walked to the nearby barrel and picked up two wooden swords. He threw one of the wooden swords to Yoko, who caught it easily. Sujiro said to her, "We will now spar in Kenjutsu." Yoko, you know the rule: if you step out of the circle or lose your grip on the wooden sword, you lose our spar will last for ten minutes."

Yoko nodded and started walking to the Kenjutsu sparring spot. Suddenly, she heard the system in her head: [TING], [New quest had been issued survive the spar with Sujiro for ten minutes and increase REF by 3 points, earn 5 Ninja points, and Kenjutsu Talent will evolve from Average Talent to Good Talent Rank upon quest completion.]

When she heard what the system said, Yoko got excited and took the basic stance the academy taught in Kenjutsu. Sujiro nodded in satisfaction when he saw that Yoko's Kenjutsu stance was perfect.

Sujiro began swinging his wooden sword at Yoko, "CLAK, CLAK, CLAK, CLAK." Yoko blocked Sujiro's swings, but the difference in physical strength between them was huge, and Yoko was struggling to keep herself inside the circle and keep her grip on the wooden sword.

"I need to deflect and dodge his sword swings; his physical strength is way beyond mine," Yoko thought to herself, and she started to deflect and dodge all Sujiro sword swings. When there was an opportunity for her to counterattack, she either thrust or swung her wooden sword.

Sujiro was very impressed by her natural talent in Kenjutsu, and he cracked a small, unnoticeable smile. They spent the whole ten minutes sparring in Kenjutsu, and Sujiro lowered his wooden sword and said, "You did well, Yoko. I'm proud of you."

[TING], [Congratulation host, you have completed the quest; your Kenjutsu talent has evolved from an Average Talent Rank to a Good Talent Rank]. [TING] [Your REF increased by 3 points and you earned 5 Ninja points].

Yoko then began to check her status on her system, and she gave a small smirk at her improvement.

Sujiro then looked at Yoko and said to her, "Next, I will test your Genjutsu ability. I will cast Genjutsu at you, and you will have to break out of the Genjutsu."

Yoko nodded to Sujiro, and he started doing a series of hand seals. Yoko felt her body frozen in place; she couldn't move a muscle. She closed her eyes. "According to the books I read in the library, to break out of Genjutsu, there are two steps I need to take. First, I need to stop the flow of chakra inside of my body. Secondly, I need to disrupt the chakra flow with one powerful burst of chakra."

Yoko stopped her flow of chakra, and with a quick, powerful burst of chakra, she was able to break out of the genjutsu.

[TING], [Congratulation host, you unlocked Genjutsu talent, Genjutsu Talent Average Rank.]

Sujiro was very impressed when Yoko broke out of his genjutsu; he didn't start teaching his class about genjutsu yet, and Yoko already knows how to break out of one.

He smiled at Yoko and said, "Good work, Yoko. Now that there are only the Taijutsu and Ninjutsu tests left, let's start with the Ninjutsu test. You will need to perform the clone jutsu, the transformation jutsu, and the substitution jutsu."

Yoko nodded her head and performed a few hand seals before transforming into Sujiro. Sujiro looked around the transformed Yoko and nodded his head in satisfaction. "Good work, Yoko. Now try and create at least two clones."

Yoko cancelled her transformation, then did another set of hand seals, and two clones appeared next to her.

Sujiro smiled. "Well done. Now do the substitution, jutsu Yoko."

Yoko nodded, performed another set of hand seals, and replaced herself with a wooden log.

Sujiro clapped his hands at Yoko's performance. "Well done, Yoko I am really impressed. Now only the Taijutsu test is left. Just like the Kenjutsu test, you can't step out of the circle and the test will last for ten minutes."

Yoko nodded her head and pondered. "I should focus on dodging and deflecting his attacks, just like I did in my Kenjutsu test."

Suddenly, Yoko heard the system notification [TING]. [A new quest had been issued: spar for ten minutes with Sujiro in Taijutsu, reward increase STR, STM, SP, REF, BAL, FLX by two points, and evolve your Taijutsu talent from average to good.]

Yoko smiled when she heard the new quest that her system had issued. She took the standard academy Taijutsu stance, and then both Sujiro and Yoko charged at each other.

Sujiro threw punches and kicks at Yoko, who focused on deflecting and dodging his attacks and countering Sujiro's.

They sparred for ten minutes in Taijutsu. After ten minutes, Sujiro stopped and Yoko was breathing heavily. [TING] [Congratulation host, you have completed the quest; your STR, STM, SP, REF, BAL, FLX status had increased by two points, and your Taijutsu talent had evolved from average talent to good].

Yoko gave a small smile at what she heard. She could feel the changes in her body, and she also saw Sujiro smiling at her. "Good work, Yoko. Now it is time for me to tell you the truth behind this exam."

Yoko was looking confused at Sujiro, but she decided to listen to what he had to say: "I saw you training the academy jutsus on the academy training ground by yourself yesterday." "I saw how you successfully cast these jutsus, and I reported your performance to the Raikage."

Yoko's eyes widened in surprise, but Sujiro continued, "Lord Raikage asked me to examine you; if you perform well, you will be moved to the final year academy class and set for the graduation exam in six months."

[TING], [Quest upgrade: Instead of being the rookie of the year, graduate from the academy in six months and receive a golden ticket as a reward upon completion of the quest].

Yoko's eyes widened and she smiled, then she said to Sujiro, "Thank you sensei, I will do my best to live up to the Raikage expectation."

Sujiro nodded his head in satisfaction. "Good, you can leave now, Yoko. I will go to report to the Raikage."

Yoko nodded. She picked up her stuff from the class and started walking back to the orphanage.

She used her system again to check on her status.

After Yoko left, Sujiro wrote down his report about Yoko's performance, grabbed her exam sheet, and walked to the Raikage Tower.

In The Raikage Office

Sujiro knocked on Raikage's office door, "Enter." Upon hearing Raikage's permission, Sujiro entered the office.

Raikage smiled when he saw Sujiro. He was looking forward to knowing the result of Yoko's examination. "So, Sujiro, I hope you come bearing good news for me."

Sujiro smiled and handed the Raikage a brown folder. He then said to the Raikage, "Inside the folder, you will find my report about Yoko's examination, along with Yoko's exam sheet with her answers."

Raikage nodded. He first checked Yoko's exam sheet. His smile broadened as he examined Yoko's answer. Then, when he read Sujiro's report, he laughed loudly. "HAHAHAHAHA, this girl didn't disappoint me."

The Raikage then asked Sujiro, "Tell me, Sujiro, what do you think about my proposal of moving Yoko to the final year class?"

Sujiro was quiet for a second, then answered the Raikage honestly, "To be honest with you, it will be a waste of her talent if she stays with her fellow classmate. She is very talented, but what worries me is her age. When she graduates, she will be a six-year-old girl. The life of a Shinobi is a hard life; she might be scarred mentally."

The Third Raikage nodded seriously to Sujiro and said, "You don't need to worry about this because I will appoint Ay as her sensei, and she will be his apprentice. Ay will make her ready to face the hardships of the Shinobi life."

Sujiro nodded happily, and after that, he excused himself and left the Raikage office.
