Unknown Year, outside the boss room~
.
"Here!" Evelyne approached Max now named Kal-El and handed him a double-barrel shotgun.
"What's this?"
"This is a Magicule powered firearm. Use it to distract the Boss." Evelyne answered with an annoyed tone.
"Hey hey hey! Come on Evelyne, if Kal here used that on the boss he wouldn't even know when he died." Wilas spoke before Kal could thank her for the gun.
"Yeah! The lad should stay as far away from the battle as possible. He'll die from stray attacks probably even from aftershocks." Rathgull backed Wilas with a laugh.
Evelyne grumbled but agreed, she tried to take the gun from Kal's hand but he pulled his hand back, making everyone in the party to look at him with a surprise look.
"I think I should keep this who knows what's going to happen behind that door? I can probably use it at a critical moment to help you guys." Kal explained nervously, not wanting to give a negative impression.
"Bahaha!!! I doubt you'll hardly be useful but sure. Not that the gun could seriously hurt any of us." Rathgull replied laughing, his party members nodded to his words.
"You can keep it," Wilas said before he turns around and addressed his party. "Now! Golden Lightning Party prepare yourself, Misha be a dear and buff us, please. Evelyne you too."
Misha nodded as she knelt and brought her hands in a prayer. After muttering silent prayers for a few seconds she shouted.
[Golden Vow]
A golden light engulfed the party for a few seconds before fading away.
Once it did, the whole party was surrounded by a golden aura.
"As expected your buffs are great Misha!" Wilas praised as turned to look at Evelyne.
"It's your turn now, Evelyne."
Evelyne nodded before chanting with her eyes closed.
[Greater Strength] [Greater Dexterity] [Greater Endurance]
At her every individual chant a blue light surrounded the party, enchanting their power on top of the golden vow.
"Amazing," Kal muttered with wide eyes, feeling at least two or three stronger.
"Isn't it? Adventurers fight each other to recruit a Clergy in their party. But a Mage who has mastered not one, not two but three schools of Magic? They probably kill each other to have 'em Bahaha!!!"
"Rathgull is right. We were already lucky to have Misha with us but Evelyne?" Wilas agreed with Rathgull and continued with a weird glint that Kal noticed.
"I can't imagine her value." He finished, licking his upper lip.
Kal noticed all the party members except Evelyne had the same weird look in their eyes.
'Wierd…' he thought.
"Let's not waste the buff duration, Captain. And enter the boss room." Evelyne ignored the praise and reminded.
Wilas nodded to her and motioned Rathgull to open the door.
Kal followed behind the party to the boss room, clucthing the shotgun for the sense of safety.
His view immediately changed when he crossed the gaint door. The dim and dampened cave-like surroundings changed to an open vast desert with a sun hanging on his head.
Kal sucked a big breath in anticipation. Hoping for his Kryptonian's cells to start absorbing the sunlight. But it did not happen.
'Is this a fake sun?' Kal thought, not even considering he could not be a Kryptonian making sunlight obsolete. Kal doesn't want to consider such possibilities as it will probably make him go insane.
Stranded in a wierd world with no power? Its a nightmare.
Kal's thought process was interrupted when a sudden shockwave came and sent him stumbling on the ground. He quickly raised himself and took cover behind a small rocky hill.
He carefully peeked to see what looked like a sand Golem attacking Rathgull's shield with a barrage of attacks.
Rathgull easily endured the attacks and aggroed the Golem's focus on himself, giving other party members the opportunity to attack.
And Kal noticed those attacks of the party weren't random. They never attacked the same area twice. Their attacks were purposeful. And as if answering his question. Kal saw one of the slashes Wilas gave reveal a red crystal-like object near the golem's chest.
'The core!!!' Kal shouted as he saw Elena shooting an arrow at the core, only for the Golem to conceal the core with sand.
Wilas tried to cut open the Golem's chest again but the ground suddenly rumbled as a huge sand pillar shot out disrupting the party's formation.
Elena and Misha were far so they weren't that much affected but Rathgull, Wilas and Evelyne were thrown out by the pillars.
Evelyne wasn't thrown far but the other two weren't lucky as they were the closest and was sent quite distance.
The throw made them disoriented, making them defenceless. The Golem took advantage of that and shot a sharp sand shard at Evelyne who was closest to its proximity.
.
Evelyne's POV~
.
"Evelyne! Behind you!!!" Wilas shouted causing me to look back, my vision blurry from the previous attack.
My eyes instinctively closed looking at the huge sand shard a distance away.
'It seems I failed you, Your Highness.' I thought and waited for the pain and death that would follow.
But nothing came just a loud *Bang* sound. Opening my eyes I saw the half-destroyed shard lying some distance to my left.
I turned to my right as the handsome otherworlder dropped the Magicule firearm and nodded at me.
I nodded back as I saw him freeze and hurriedly roll away from the sand pillar hurled at him. I looked back at the Goelem whose focus was on the rolling otherworlder.
I quickly raised an Earth wall before the otherworlder just as the Golem sent multiple sand shards at him.
The wall held for a moment before crumbling but it gave enough time to the otherworlder to roll out of the attack path again.
Just as I thought he safely dodged those shards I saw him standing up while holding his dangling arm.
"Aghh!!" He cried in pain, completely out of reality as the Golem sent another attack at him. But luckily Rathgull has recovered from the previous attack and jumped before the otherworlder, aggroing the sand pillar.
The shockwave released from the collision of Rathgull's shield and Golem's attack sent the otherworlder stumbling back, breaking him out of his daze.
I saw him slowly standing and backing away.
Sighing I focused on the battlefield.
Wilas was already preparing his strongest move with Alisha buffing him. Elena's aim was already at the Golem's core, supercharging an arrow to shoot the moment it showed.
I also started building Magicule, preparing a Tier-7 spell.
[Greater Shackle]
Immediately at my call multiple shackles materialised around the golem and latched on to its limbs and torso.
"Now! Wilas!!!" I shouted but I didn't had to as Wilas was already in motion.
He held his sword like a Javelin as golden lightning coiling around it. The move that gave this party its name.
"Take thisss!!!" With a war cry, he threw the sword which disappeared from my view and only appeared lunged at the end of the floor.
I quickly turned my head to the golem and saw its upper completely vapourised with its core visible.
The golem churned as the surrounding sand rushed towards it to heal its upper body but before the sand could reach the core multiple rays of light struck it.
*CRACK* the core cracked and exploded with the built-up Magicule leaving behind just the nuclei of the core. An resource of immense value
I sighed letting down my guard but it was a mistake as I felt a sharp pain from my chest, looking down I saw a dagger sticking out.
"You think I wouldn't notice your identity?" I heard Wilas's voice from behind as he took out the dagger.
"See you in hell." He said and swung the dagger, aiming to sever my head.
But before he could a bang sounded. Wilas hurriedly changed the direction of his swing and intercepted the Magicule bullet.
I took advantage of that and used Blink to the fallen nuclei and retrieved it before Blinking to the otherworlder who fired the shot.
[Grand Shield] I casted a Tier-8 shield spell around us, something far above my level, but sacrificing my remaining life force did the job.
"Here! Take it!" I handed him the nuclei as I felt the golden lightning bastad bombarding the shield.
The otherworlder confusedly took the nuclei with his unbroken arm as I retracted all the memories of the boss floor and placed them in the memory vial. I wanted to store more memories but unfortunately, that was the most the vial could handle.
Closing the vial I handed it to him alongside Her Highness's Imperial crest.
"Show the crest to the guard standing outside the dungeon and hand the vial to the person they bring you after," I instructed coughing blood.
"But how would I reach outside?" He questioned, clenching the crest and vial along the nuclei.
"By this. Tear it and you will be teleported outside the dungeon" I handed another object. A talisman to be exact. The most precious thing on me. Not because of its materialistic value, no, but because Her Highness herself handed it to me so I could escape the dungeon in case the golden lightning party tried to kill me like now.
"But if it really does what you say then why are you not escaping with me, I'm sure we can find someone to quickly heal your wound." Smart guy, he'll go far… in Her Highness's service.
I looked at him weakly and replied with a shake of my head.
"I can't, the talisman can only teleport one person." At my words, the otherworlder looked ready to retort but I didn't let him continue to speak.
"And even if I use the talisman to escape, I won't survive. The bastard has stabbed with a knife dipped in the Scarlet Rot. Very few things can detoxify it. And none can be acquired in the next few seconds I'm gonna parish." I finished coughing blood multiple times in between.
Seeing the situation he nodded seriously and spoke.
"I understand. I will do as you say, I will hand the golem core and this vial to the person the guards outside brings me after showing the crest." He said solemnly and ripped the talisman, disappearing with a bright light.
With a sigh, I gathered the little Magicule I had to cast the last spell of my life.
[Coarpse Explosion] I chanted as my body lit up. I don't want to leave even my cold body in these bastard arms. They will probably butcher it and sell its part in the underworld.
'I hope I was a great service to your exhalted self Your Highness Lucia Jircniv Farlord El-Nix' With that hopeful thought my body exploded and I embraced the eternal darkness.
