Chapter 21 Amegakure

Amegakure.

Hidden Rain Village, a village right in between the land of fire, wind and earth had huge importance due to its geological position.

For Iwagakure located in Land of Earth to invade Land of Fire the easiest way after land of grass is Amegakure and is the same for Konoha.

True to its name, the village like usual was covered with dark clouds and rain pouring down continuously.

Towering steel buildings were everywhere but at the center the tallest was the residence of the leader of Amegakure, Hanzo the Demi-God.

Currently Hanzo wasn't at his residence though, at the northeast of the village a whole building seems to have been blown to pieces by an explosion, despite the rain fire still lingering around somewhat.

Rain shinobi were all gathered around the burning building, all with expressions of anger, shock and disbelief.

At the front with all the rain shinobi gathered behind him stood a figure with above-average height, donning a large black coat, a respirator like mask on his face, his blonde hair reaching his back.

"The logistic squad was controlled by Konoha and using them they blew up the warehouse lord Hanzo"

"What are we supposed to do now? We still have to march towards Sand Battlefield but we don't have enough supplies for the fight!"

An Ame jonin stepped forward and quite a concerned face told the result of the investigation and also reminded about the battle they had to participate in.

"Konoha got us good; I should have been warier of the village which houses so many famous clans"

Spoke Hanzo in a frustrated and somewhat regretful tone, he knew Konoha was going to be a tough challenge but it seems he still had underestimated their capabilities.

Silently they were able to intrude in his turf and blow the main warehouse storing most of the weapons bought in last couple of years.

Even though the guards at the entrance of the village check every shinobi to see if he is under illusion, they were still able to pass through the check showing their superior ability.

"Ha…

Taking a deep breath Hanzo forced himself to calm down and turning around to face the jonin behind, he spoke up.

"With the supplies we have left if we head to the battlefield it will be a serious handicap, although it's a shame but I can't keep my word now" Said Hanzo in a helpless tone.

"Sunagakure won't forget about this betrayal, my lord!" Reminded the Ame jonin with a serious face.

At his words Hanzo tilted his head up to gaze at the dark sky for a long time before bringing a wry smile on his face under the mask, his lips parting.

"If Suna sends someone for explanation just say…

"If I had a choice I'd rather face ten of them then one Konoha!"

Swish!

Dropping the words, Hanzo disappeared from his place leaving the ame jonin stunned.

Konoha.

Hokage Office.

Sitting at the hokage seat, Sarutobi was smiling from ear to ear with his eyes on the unsealed scroll in his hands.

"Finally the tables have turned, Danzo's plan to destroy the main warehouse worked."

"And at Sand front we were able to force Suna back without any major loss, without the support of Ame Shinobi they were forced to retreat."

Told Sarutobi the news with a big grin on his face, the news seemed to have made him ten years younger.

"Hiruzen! Danzo has made a huge contribution for the village, you have to appreciate it!"

"Yeah and for starters we should share this news of his success in the whole village."

Hearing the good news, both Homura and Koharu were happy as well but didn't forget to ask Sarutobi to properly reward Danzo for his bravery.

"Ha! You don't need to worry about his deed going unnoticed, I can bet he already has made preparations for that."

Responded Sarutobi to the requests of his two friends in a joking manner, no one understands Danzo more than him.

Although he always talks about staying in the shadows but his desire to be in the light is not hidden to him, he will definitely not let go of this chance to glorify his reputation in the village.

At this words both Homura and Koharu couldn't come up with anything to argue back, agreeing with the statement of Hiruzen.

They were worrying for nothing, Danzo will never let go of this opportunity.

"So, are you going to call him back or are you thinking about his other plan?"

Suddenly Koharu remembered the plan of Danzo to assassinate Hanzo all by himself so she couldn't help but ask Sarutobi about it.

"As I had said that day, we'll wait and see Hanzo's next strategy; if he steps out of the war then there's no need otherwise we can think about that!"

"So for now I'll call him back!"

"Umm."

Told Sarutobi his current plan, Koharu and Homura agreeing with his thinking.

"Now that the big matters have been discussed, let's talk about this kid."

Koharu and Homura who thinking that the meeting has ended and were about to leave were stopped by Sarutobi, who speaking with an interesting face handed them the scroll with all the news from Sand Front.
