Sacrifice

Red calmly made his way to the dungeon guard office, where he acted as if he was doing regular book keeping. Here he was able to discover information that shocked him.

The prisoners he noticed were not captured by the Chiba Clan at all. Most of them were in Core formation stage and there were even a few in Nascent Soul stages. These prisoners had been captured by some clan known as the Taira Clan. He had never heard of Taira clan before, but apparently these prisoners were given to Chiba clan to hold and use. He couldn't make out much more information from the details. Instead he found the particular prisoners he was looking for and made his way to them.

Appearing in front of the prisoner with a mask covering his face, Red clanged the jail in which the prisoner was lying dazed. The man suddenly snapped and looked at the guard that disturbed him out of his dream and clanged his chains, but soon noticed something was wrong. The guard was wearing a black mask covering everything but his eyes.

"What do you know about the sacrifice?" The guard asked the prisoner who was shocked. Then he laughed.

"That bastard is going to use us as a conduit for a sacrifice boon, how didn't I realize this earlier!" He wailed in self hatred, but then he stopped and looked at the masked guard in absolute calm. He seemed unhinged.

"Is it possible to stop the sacrifice before it begins?" The guard asked.

The prisoner looked at the guard for a long time and didn't say anything. Finally after five uncomfortable minutes, he opened his mouth. "Don't you feel the eery atmosphere in the air? I bet the atmosphere is all over the planet. The sacrifice has already begun." Then he went quiet again.

"How to stop it?" The guard asked. He was very weak, yet, it seemed he was very calm and unfazed.

"You can't stop the arrival. But it would be the best opportunity to kill that blasted Chiba clan." The prisoner said.

"I will release you, but you must listen to my instructions until the sacrifice begins." The guard said. "Enemy of my enemy and all that jazz."

The prisoner nodded. The prisoner was the very soul cultivator who had come to save his soul beast pet and captured in the auction hall. The guard with the mask was obviously Red. Following this, he went and discussed with the other four who had tried to capture the soul cultivator and got their agreement as well before freeing them up.

The five followed Red and discreetly took out all the guards in the dungeon. It was a slow affair, ensuring no one was intimated was difficult to do without being patient.

On the streets of Sakura Planet blood was spilling everywhere. Various Noble families and the imperial armies were clashing to death. The first and second prince had begun the bloodbath for the throne. As they were reaching a stalemate, when both sides realized that further war would only lead to a worse bloodbath, a third force arrived on the scene. It was the third prince with the entire Chiba Clan.

When the Chiba Clan's actual strength was revealed a chill ran through both the armies, however, there was no choice now, a three way slaughter took place. The Chiba Clan however had too many Foundation Establishment and Core Formation experts. Even the other two groups combined weren't a match for the Chiba Clan, not to mention that the Clan Leader was actually a Nascent Soul practitioner.

Red was still in the dungeons. He had spent bartering with the prisoners for their freedom. Many initially thought to kill him upon being freed, but Red simply said that killing him wouldn't achieve nothing. Only the Taira clan will find more clues to catch them again. That threat managed to calm them and agree to the conditions. Red didn't ask for a lot, he explained that the planet would be sacrificed in some ritual and fighting the Chiba clan was the only to survive.

Meanwhile, on the battlefront, chaos was ensuing and the factions of the first and second prince were almost being decimated. The Clan leader of the Chiba was looking smug that his plan was working out without any flaws, yet at that moment a new force suddenly entered the field and began a massacre of the Chiba cultivators.

This group of people were all ragged and had a terrifying killing aura emanating from their bodies. When the Chiba Clan leader saw them, he was shocked. "The prisoners escaped!" Seeing his forces being slaughtered, the other two factions gained a renewed vigor and joined forces to attack the Chiba and third prince as well.

Infuriated, the Clan leader attempted to enter the battlefield but was surrounded by five cultivators at the peak of core formation. These were the five cultivators captured at the Redmond planet black market Auction. Nascent Soul is a big leap from Core Formation peak stage, but these were five soul cultivators, they were easily able to compete with the Chiba clan leader.

Red was still in the dungeon. There was still a single prisoner he hadn't released and it was one who had been kept in the most highly secure facility in the dungeon. Currently he was talking to this old man who was calmly meditating on the floor.

"So the sacrifice has already begun... If we don't kill the Chiba clan the whole planet will become devoid of life." Red said to the old man.

"Killing those idiots won't stop this ceremony." The old man sighed. Although he was designated as the most dangerous person in the dungeon, he was just a simple old man who looked ordinary in every way. "Do you know what the sacrifice...is?" He asked Red.

"I do not." Red answered. The old man smiled before he waved his finger in the air and then tasted it. "This energy, I can tell it is a soul sacrifice. If I am not wrong, all the prisoners in this dungeon among others had been turned into conduits. We will die either way. When enough Sul's are sacrificed in this ceremony, a god will descend." The old man frowned.

"A... God?" Red wondered, shocked speechless.
