"Why are you doing this?"
Sean sat up and leaned on the dirty wall of the cell with the chains of his shackles connected to the wall. Fear and anger were written all over his face.
"Don't fret, Officer Devitt, I'm not doing this because you always tried to catch me in the past. In fact, I saved you from your death sentence. Everyone thinks you are dead now though," said Lauren with a bleak expression.
"What do you mean you saved me?" Now Sean was enlightened why he was in that unfamiliar dungeon. They must have taken him out of the castle by whatever means, but as much as how the act seemed like saving him, he knew there was more to it. It was the wicked princess and her husband who was a vicious lord they were talking about after all.
"You want something from me," Sean figured out.
"You are a smart man, officer. I wonder why you just wasted that brain of yours for my sister who never loved you."
"I know Eloise loves me!"
