Megan spied her mother across the reception hall, and she weaved her way over to her. When Chloe spotted her daughter coming toward her she stood and pulled Megan into a tight hug.
"Why didn't you tell me? I would have pushed harder to come see you." Chloe asked looking torn about what to say.
"That's why I didn't tell you. I don't want to talk about it. Okay?" Megan stepped back giving her mother a small smile to let her know she was okay.
"Are they really gone?" Cloe asked with a frown.
"I haven't seen them since the night this baby was made. I got a two-sentence note that said we have urgent matters to take care of, I'll be back. I don't know anything else." Megan explained the truth making it hard to pretend that she was fine with it.
Ryan Steele snuck up behind his daughter wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "Congratulations! It seems things are working out well with the husband I chose for you."
