Aarez Palace is one of the largest palaces on the European continent. Not only contains hundreds of rooms because the Palace of Aarez has many rooms with their respective functions.
Aarez Palace has many rooms. Such as prayer rooms, mourning rooms, state-owned private libraries, and many other secret rooms that will not visit a day.
Not to mention the many long winding hallways.A room that stores valuables, and also a spacious hall that is often used to entertain important royal guests.
Then there is a room called the contemplation room, a place that is far from the king's, queen's, or empress' rooms. The room is not inside the palace even though it is still in the kingdom's territory.
Once upon a time. The contemplation room was a place, which used to store the royal reserve weapons. But now, it has a different function, a large warehouse with a simple form that has changed its function. It was only a hundred meters wide and had no windows at all.
However, there are air vents in every corner of the room, and it is also equipped with a heating and air conditioning machine.
But still, it was a warehouse at first, nothing special about the place. Just a place with a dominant gray color.
A few simple pieces of furniture were already in the contemplation room. No high-tech equipment insight, even if it was just a radio or something.
In the corner of the room. There is a red door with the inscription "restroom" which is quite clearly visible to anyone who looks at it.
Then two large wardrobes lined each side of the wall, with the cupboard doors tightly shut. Nothing is interesting about the room. Other than a large painting with a view of green grass and a clear blue sky.
In the middle of the room. There is a high enough bulkhead, flanking a bed that is wide enough and can sleep for two people.
On the bed was someone lying weakly.
Yes, that someone is Helena.
Of course, Helena didn't know that she had moved. Because when Helena got punishment from Louis. She had fallen unconscious, unable to endure the pain any longer.
Knowing that and for some reason, Louis gave the order to move Helena to the contemplation room. Not bringing Helena to his room, nor Helena's room.
To the members of the Aarez Kingdom, the contemplation room was a lowly place. Because the room was a seclusion room, which marked the lowest caste for an empress. That's what Louis did because he couldn't possibly put Helena in a dungeon.
After all, Louis still had to prove Helena's lies that he still believed it.
Helena's eyelids twitched slowly, her consciousness starting to wake up. And when she opened her eyes, feeling a strange sensation in each of her knuckles.
"Ahh..." Helena said, who was holding back the pain, as she got up from her sleep.
Helena didn't get out of bed. She just noticed the surroundings that seemed foreign to her at that time. Not to mention there was a distinctive smell from a room she didn't recognize at all.
"Where am I?" asked her confusion. But Helena's gaze immediately shifted to her ten fingers, which looked different.
Helena's finger was still intact. Of course with no less and no more. But every finger was wrapped with a neat bandage.
"Hehehe!" Helena laughed at herself. Because she could finally remember the last thing that had happened to her.
"Not long ago, my back is bandaged. Now my ten fingers. Will tomorrow my whole body be bandaged, like a mummy?" asked Helena, and she laughed again because actually, she was entertaining herself.
"Mmm… what is this? An IV line?" Said Helena, who saw an IV line attached to the back of her right hand.
"Ahh… I don't… need… this!" Helena said and pulling the IV needle from the back of her hand immediately.
Instantly, Helena felt light on her hand. She pressed on the needle marks that were still clearly visible on the back of her hand.
Helena's legs were already down the bed,
"Fortunately, my legs are still intact. Otherwise, how can I walk." She mumbled back as she continued to look at her surroundings.
"Where am I? And what is this place? Hello! is there anyone here?"
Helena shouted because she wasn't sure if there was anyone other than herself.
"Mmm…? There's a door over there. Should I leave here?? What a strange place… Is this some kind of ward belonging to the Palace?" Helena wasn't even sure about the conclusion she just made.
With slow steps. Helena was in front of a large door made of wood with a jet black color. There was a peculiar smell when Helena was so close to the side of the door, making her often wrinkle her nose.
The door handle is circular. There is a picture of a lion which is the symbol of the kingdom of Aarez. Helena pulled hard on the handle of the round door, but Helena forgot that her fingers were sore.
The door didn't even move at all. "Ahh… my finger hurts so much," Helena complained, but she was still trying to do something else to get out of the room that made her feel uncomfortable.
"Is there anyone out there! Please open this door!" Helena shouted, and she hit the side of the door with her arm.
Helena was still in a weak state as if she had no strength.
"Please… open this door. I want to get out of this place! Please, open the door." Helena said in a low voice, but she couldn't hear any response at that time.
"I am starving," Helena said, and her eyes started looking for something she might eat.
There was a small round table. And Helena was sure that on it was a sandwich, a banana, and a glass of water.
Helena swallowed her saliva as she held her stomach. "I'm hungry… I hope what I saw wasn't my hallucination."
With slow and weak footsteps, Helena began to approach the round table, which was located between the brown striped carpet.
For a few seconds, Helena stared at her swallowing her saliva. After that, she had already picked up the stiff piece of sandwich.
Helena had to be careful when using her fingers because just holding the sandwich was already painful for her.
She chewed on the sandwich, which was just a slice of it quickly, but Helena tasted nothing but blandness.
"Mmm...?" The curious Helena peeked at the contents of the sandwich.
Turns out, she didn't find the filling for the sandwich. It was just two slices of bread put together without any filling. No wonder if Helena didn't feel anything. But at that time, she was so hungry that she just kept eating.
"Mmm… Is he still punishing me? Heh! how ridiculous you, King Aarez." Helena said with her mouth full.
Helena's throat felt dry as she swallowed the tasteless sandwich. She took a glass of cold water, which she drank immediately.
"Mmm… even this plain water doesn't taste sweet. You're very kind, King Louis." Helena was annoyed. Then she put back the glass of water that was still half left.
Helena resumed her meal, eating the sandwich, which only had one bite left. She crushed it quickly, and without she realized, her tears running down her cheeks.
"Why are you crying, Helena? Hk… hk…"
Helena wiped her tears immediately. Suddenly, the sadness hit her again.
"Grandma… I miss you. Why? Why do I have to cry? Surely this cry isn't for him, right? I miss you, grandma." Said Helena, who continued to wipe her tears with the back of her hand while she continued to chew the bread that was still in her mouth.
Helena patted her chest. Again her throat felt dry. She just wanted to take a glass of water, but suddenly, she stopped doing that.
Helena's gaze looked at her surrounding. She couldn't tell if it was night or morning?
There are no windows, all just big walls in dark gray. Helena thought, how long will Louis treat her like this?
A banana and a glass of water are only half left. Helena stared intently at her less food.
"I'll save it for later. It's better if I can save it. Who knows if King Louis no longer sends food for me." Helena said sadly.
***
Time seemed very long. Helena did not know how long she was in that place. She could only sit curled up and lamenting her fate. Even though she had finished the last remaining food and drink she had.
The air suddenly felt cold, and Helena was back on her bed. She pulled the blanket up to her neck.
"Stars in the sky, give me your light. The shining moon and light my way. Lead me to a place of light and high."
She repeated,
"Stars in the sky, give me your light. The shining moon and light my way. Lead me to a place of light and high."
Helena muttered under her breath. And involuntarily, she closed her eyes because she was starting to feel sleepy.
Helena didn't know how long she had been asleep, but something was moving above her body. Helena woke up and opened her eyes quickly.
"Who ... Who are you?" Helena asked when she saw the figure already on the bed.
"Heh..! So funny! Have you forgotten about me, Empress Helena? Even though you've only been in this place for a few days. and You can forget your king?" Louis quip.
"King Louis?!"
"King Louis, what are you doing?" Helena got up from her bed, she tried to pull her leg, but Louis quickly grabbed her.
"Our business is not over, Empress Helena. You still owe me one honesty." Threaten Louis with a red face.
"King Louis, are you drunk?" Helena asked. But she was sure she could smell the strong alcohol scent on Louis' body.
"HA... HA... HA…." Louis' laughter boomed. He gave Helena a wild look.
"Why do you dare to betray me, Empress Helena?" asked Louis, and he was already crawling on top of Helena.
"I'm not betrayed at all! I'm telling the truth, King Louis." Helena answered immediately, but she couldn't move when Louis' body kept pressing her.
"Do you think I believe it? No..! I don't believe it until I prove it, Helena. And right now, I want you to prove it to me!" said Louis with a face that looks scary. His gaze has a cruel and wild look at Helena.
"Prove it! If you don't betray me, Helena. Serve me tonight," Louis said earnestly.
