NOTHING'S REALLY CHANGED (Ch. 4)

Raven rubs his chubby palms together, staving off the onslaught of cold AC air, standing behind the store counter he tries desperately to ignore the searing cold before ultimately giving up and re-directing his mind to other matters, reminiscing on the ordeal he'd gone through to secure his post he exhales, rubbing away at his eyelids, the already encroaching tendrils of fatigue weigh heavy on them,

(He'd basically thrown the job at my other body but as soon as I mentioned the interview he'd lied about it being over, I had to mention all the products of the top of my head), puffing away the cold he sighs turning to take a look at the clock behind him, (even now I'm sure it's probably because of the hope of my other body taking his offer he let me get the job. I've been Living in twelve-hour shifts to maintain the health of both bodies but what if the new bodies suddenly disappeared? What do I do then?, Do i just return to living like i did before?, Can i even return to that life?, It would've been better if I'd never even gotten a taste)

Hearing the glass doors of the store move Raven is pulled away from his thoughts

He looks to see three mean-looking guys walk up towards the counter, upon getting closer he's able to make them out better through his foggy glasses, (those uniforms.... They're from my school!)

"Hey kid four morello packs"

(They're still underage, even if i wanted too i can't )

Ravens tilts his head down nervously as he requests for their ID, he sees the ID pulled out and checks it,

(this isn't even you!, and nineteen eighty-six?, Even though you look like a thirty-year-old you can't possibly be that old!)

"I don't think this is your ID sir"

"Huh? I've just gained some weight"

"I'm sorry but i can't sell you the cigarettes..." Raven trails off avoiding eye contact.

"If he's not gonna sell let it go, hey kid what's your name?"

Raven looks to see the new speaker, he's shocked to see jay leaning against one of the item racks

"It's raven.." he trails off, catching his mistake late and his unable to correct it,

Jay's face darkens instantly he hesitates briefly before slowly walking up to the counter,

"Hey boys I think we might even be able to get some alcohol to boot" he states sporting a sinister grin, after relenting and selling them what they wanted Jay grabs him by the collar out of the blue

"Wha?, Wha... What're you d" Raven stutters as he's being held up

"Hey, why's he in such a bad mood?"

one of the three boys asks,

"You don't know?"

"That's why I'm asking retard"

"Fuck off, it's cause of the new kid"

"The transfer student?"

"Yeah he got Maya blushing and shit and they were meant to go on a date but she turned him down right after"

"quiet if he hears us he'll flip"

(These bastards!) Jay holds raven up higher leaving his face inches away from the chubby boy's own, (it's that bastard's fault, that fucking man whore!)

"I'm sorry, I could get fired so ple.. pleas..e" a frightful Raven states, Jay's unfocused eyes lock into Ravens form before releasing him.

"Th..a" a right hook from Jay sends Raven flying,

"Ah",

"fuck!",

"stop it you retard!" the three guys shout in tandem as Jay continues to assault Raven, punching him in the face repeatedly, the boys quickly surround him and pull him off while restraining him.

"Sorry about this dude"

"Well we're off"

"On that note...." One of the guys walks up to raven to help him up before ordering him to pull down his pants,

"The hell dude!" The guy with the fake ID exclaims

"Chill bro, it's just a little insurance" he says as he takes out his phone and takes a picture of Raven's manhood, "Don't say a word about this or... You know" he continues grinning as the three exit the store with a still struggling Jay

Exhaling Raven picks up his phone and gives his mom a call,

"Hey, baby" her excited voice filters through, "why are you still up by this time?"

"Hey mom, I actually just woke up i'm just taking a stroll, the midnight breeze is pretty nice"

"So" she drawls "how's your new school!?" She inquirers excitedly"

Giving an awkward smile Raven re-re-vises his story before proceeding with his answer," It's amazing mom, I've made a lot of friends already, I was just with some friends actually, so how are things with you mom" he states before redirecting the conversation

"Well it's been a bit lonely being by myself but i guess you had to grow up eventually. I'm really proud of you Raven, I mean it, I'm sending you enough for living expenses right?"

(She only uses my name when she's serious), " yes! Mom, i think you're sending a little too much actually, you should save more for yourself"

"Nonsense!" She replies,

"I'm glad to hear that though, just focus on school alright? I love you Rave, your my world, now go to bed you've got school tomorrow"

"I love you too mum, goodnight"

"Goodnight Raven"

Dropping the call Raven gives a rueful smile, (just with friends?, What a joke, I'm still as pathetic as ever)

Waking up Raven turns to his side to see the swollen face of his hefty body, the left eye swollen lower lip busted and left cheek bruised, (at least I don't have a crooked nose), with that thought Raven quickly gets himself ready for school.

Upon getting to his class door Raven takes a deep breath before

Sliding the door open. looking to his seat he sees Jay surrounded by three guys from the previous night talking fervently about something, upon getting closer he realises what they where speaking about. the previous night.

Raven ignores their words for the most part focusing on Jay's comments on his body being a 'pig' his temper flares but he tunes them out .

"Hey, Raven!" Laura says walking up up him before greeting excitedly "come over, they've got something to show us"

Looking over to the three guys the one in he center is holding on to the phone. Raven sees the picture of his manhood and chubby body and flares in anger, he clenches his teeth before willing himself to calm down, (they're all the fucking same!),

"Ugh, i don't wanna see that" Laura exclaims disgustedly,

Ehn? One of the boys laughed, "this chick is lying again" he replies with a snarl

"What!? Your lucky i even talk to you pleb" Laura practically screams in reply, one if the three quickly questions Jay to change the flow of the conversation.

"Your fists are fast as fuck though, how the hell do you move them like that?" the boy inquired... ignoring laura

"there really isn't a how to talk about guys, it's a gift" Jay replies with a gloating grin, (say it more you dumb-asses, i need this man whore to hear this)

her opinion on Jay's words.

"That's stupid" Maya stares stating her opinion on Jay's words towards her seat mate,

"Why? are you always so harsh with him, He's nice to you right?, Just date him"

"He's too reckless" Maya replies with a disgruntled expression

"I haven't heard a no" her seatmate remarks sporting a smug expression

"He's always fighting, even on our last date he beat up a stranger"

"So it's true huh?, what they say" Maya's seatmate exclaimed

"What's true?" Maya inquires with a troubled expression

I'd heard he was an upcoming boxer in middle school, apparently really talented but he quit for some inexplicable reason"

Maya looks away with a frown,

( i know that better than anyone, jay just wouldn't tell me why he quit)

"Stop it guys, you know i used to box, I'm a bit ashamed that I'd almost knocked the kid out" jay explains,

(So that's why he was so fast, i couldn't even see the punch)

"Hey Raven", Raven looks to see two girls walking up to him, trying to recall their names he comes up short (i probably never learnt them)

"Do you have a gir...."

"Raven!, Want to play a game with me?" Laura interrupts causing the two girls to groan in frustration before attempting to inquire in a round about way before giving up as Laura takes up defense, turning back towards their seats Laura watches them triumphantly

"Seriously who does she think she is?!"

"That bitch is seriously getting on my nerves" the two murmured on departure

"By the way" one of the three guys interject, that pig's mum must be a pig too right?"

"If we get him to bring his mum then we'll have both their naked pics" the other of the three laughs

A fist flashes through the air and less than a breath later a body drops unconscious, Raven takes deep breaths as he shuts his eyes tightly, I know I'm a coward, but my mom, my mother!?, You dare!?, Exhaling Raven glares down the remaining three Jay included as the class goes dead silent.
