"Officer Jackson has arrived with a Brian Dobbs. I've escorted him to Interrogation Room one. Brace yourself; he's a feisty one."
"Thanks, Sergeant Williams."
In the distance, Jackson was walking toward Jessie as she made her way down the hall to the interrogation room. "Here," she said, handing Jessie a file folder, "this is Dobbs' criminal history."
"Thank you, Jackson. Since you've spent the last couple of hours with Mr. Dobbs, why don't you join me? It would be best if you didn't say anything. Just smile to give him confidence. If he thinks he's got you in his corner, he might open up and tell us what we want to know."
"Thank you for the opportunity." Side-by-side, they walked into the interrogation room and found Dobbs pacing back and forth.
"Mr. Dobbs, please have a seat," she motioned with her hand.
"I'll stand," he said defensively.
"Sit down," Jessie said firmly.
