063: Miss Kobyashi and her kids

After a few months owning the place in Tokyo, Katsumi Kejoro decided to let her assistant Chisato to take care of the Tokyo saloon as Katsumi decided to leave to her hometown which was on the city side of Kyoto

As she bid farewell to her assistant to take care of the Tokyo branch, and went on train to Kyoto.As she reached the city of Kyoto, Traffic was non-existent for a while but soon she reached her new home which was just a few kilometers to Kitano Tenmangu shrine and the Imperial palace and stayed near the city of Kyoto where she leased a two storeyed building with the ground floor she opened her saloon and on the top was her house.

On her first day in Kyoto,A call came in from a client saying It was the beginning of a new school year and she needed her three kids' hair cut.

Obliging her request,Katsumi went to the house; it was a house not far from the town.When she knocked on the door, a little girl with raven tresses answered the doors. She was no more than eight and she curtailed when she saw her.A woman came to the door and smiled,"You must be Miss Kejoro , the barber I spoke to on the phone"

"Yes", she replied, shaking the woman's hand.

"Please, come in",the woman invited me in,"I'm Kobayashi"

She escorted her inside, the place was dimly lit by sunlight and it was very clean.The mother introduced me to her three kids: Gina, Himmawari, and Mio.

The one Katsumi just met, Gina, was the youngest with her siblings being a year and two years ahead of her.Her hair was long and thick and desperately needed a trim. She was the first in the chair.

It was a dining chair, her mother and siblings gathered round as Katsumi tossed a cape over small frame.

"What style do you want me to give her?"she asked the mother.

"Oh, they're all getting the same haircut",she answered ,"Buzz the sides and trim the top short"

Katsumi was a bit taken aback by the request . Her hands opened the suitcase and pulled out the clippers.As she separated Gina's crown from her sides, Katsumi asked Kobayashi what guard was best to use on her children. She told her to use no guard as to let the hair grow back slowly throughout the school year.

With that, Katsumi got to work.The locks on the sides of the little girl's head tumbled into the cape and onto the ground. She sat still for me and never complained.It felt like a tragedy to see so much hair come off at once but also exciting.

Her sides were completely buzzed and Katsumi started brushing her crown. Kobayashi looked at her which gave her pause,"You know what, just buzz it all"

Gina's other siblings were shocked at their mother's words but said nothing.Katsumi shrugged and did as she asked, taking the clippers and buzzing the rest of Gina's hair off.When she was done, Gina looked like a boy in a dress but she worked with what she had. She rubbed her shorn head gingerly as Katsumi shook out the cape for the next kid.

Himmawari, a black-haired beauty, was up next. She was paler than Gina and walked nervously to the chair. Katsumi sensed she didn't want all her hair to be buzzed but like Gina, she accepted her fate.She caped her and had her buzzed in no time. Her widow's peak made her look like a little vampire girl and when Katsumi told her that, she smiled a little.

Girls all buzzed, Mio was the last of children in my chair.At least, for her, it made sense for herto get such a short cut because she was on track team. Katsumi finished buzzing and let her free to rejoin her siblings.

Katsumi thought that was it so she was about to close her suitcase when Kobayashi piped up."Miss",she said,"Can you cut my hair as well?"

"Yes, ma'am",she replied.

"Good, I could use a change",she rose from her seat and sat in the chair. Katsumi assumed she wanted a trim and caped her up as she did her children. Shecombed through her hair and asked her what haircut she wanted.Kobayashi smiled,"Give me a buzz, why don't you"

Katsumi was giddy inside,"Same as your kids?"she asked.She nodded and so, Katsumi gave her what she wanted. Her tresses mixed with her children's hair and when the deed was done, her was so short she almost looked bald.

Her kids ran to her and she hugged them tightly to her chest.They all now looked the same.Buzzed and ready for the school year.

As for Katsumi, she was paid generously for her labor and tipped handsomely.
