“Keava, no! This is not part of the plan,” Shirley scolded when she found me waiting by her limo.
“I know–I know! But something just isn’t sitting right with me. I need to be there, please,” I begged.
I had not been put on the list so the only way I could get into the event was as someone else's guest. Luckily for me, Shirley had decided to go solo seeing as this was not any ordinary gathering.
“Roman is not going to be happy,” Shirley said as she opened the car door and gestured for me to get in.
“Well after tonight it won’t really matter as long aswe win,” I slid in, my heart pounding as we began to drive towards the culmination of our efforts.
“What’s so important that you just decided to go rogue?” Shirley asked.
“I caught Andrew sniffing around the head office at the Gazette,” I explained. “He was on the phone with Salazar.”
