Revival....

The crackling sound of a fire burning through its timber awoke Kakashi. He was lying on the ground a few feet away from the campfire. He quickly got up into a fighting stance and observed his surroundings.

He was in an area of full darkness, with no one but himself. The fire was the only source of light in the area, illuminating the rocks around it. Kakashi was struck with a pang of realization.

"I've.... been here before? I'm sure of it," he muttered to himself.

The fire behind Kakashi suddenly grew in size and became brighter. Kakashi turned around in swift motion and took out a kunai. The fire began to morph into something different. No, someone.

Kakashi's eyes widened, and he dropped his kunai, making it clang as it hit the ground. In front of him was the Sage of Six Paths. His white, full-length Kimono hung loosely off his frame, as he floated above Kakashi.

"S-sage-sama! What are you doing here?" Kakashi stammered.

"No need for that, Kakashi-kun. I'll tell you why I'm here. After you died, there was no one else to protect the world, thus leading to my mother taking all of the Chakra back into herself."

Kakashi looked down. His hair shadowed his eyes as he gripped his hands.

'If only I had been stronger!' he thought in anger. Hagoromo interrupted this thought process.

"Kakashi-kun, don't blame yourself, in actuality, I'm the one to blame."

Kakashi looked at the Sage in shock. How was he to blame?!

"I've placed too much faith in my children to do the right thing over and over again. All of the times it has failed. I have placed my burdens on them for countless centuries, and now it is the time to stop!" the Sage said with finality in his voice.

"Kakashi-kun, I have one thing to ask of you? Will you help me with changing this outcome?"

Kakashi looked conflicted.

"Sage-sama, with no disrespect, how can I help you? I just died against Kaguya, do you expect to face her again!?" Kakashi said incredulously.

"Kakashi-kun, we won't be facing my mother again. No one besides my children working together could do that. Rather, what we will be doing is never facing her in the first place."

'What does he mean by that? Never facing her? That's imp-'

Kakashi's eyes widened at the sheer shock he was feeling.

"Sage-sama! You don't mean what I think you are!"

Hagoromo chuckled.

"Sharp as ever, Kakashi-kun. Yes, we will be reversing time so that this future will never come to pass."

"Sage-sama, how can you reverse time? I have never heard of any Jutsu or any ability that could do that!"

"No one has ever fully mastered the Rinnegan as I have. Not even my mother. One of it's rarest abilities is the Jikū yusō-Jutsu, the ability to send oneself or someone else back in time itself. The Rinnegan has mastery over all forces, time included."

Kakashi looked even more surprised. To think the Rinnegan had even more complex abilities like this!

"Kakashi-kun, there is one thing that we need to change right now, though. You! You are not strong enough. I need you to be strong enough to help in this mission."

Hagoromo raised his hand, as his Rinne-Sharingan and two Rinnegan's glowed. His hand glowed, as white and black particles formed in his hand as he manipulated pure Yin-Yang Chakra. The particles merged to form a black and white ball, and faster than any Jutsu, impacted Kakashi.

Kakashi gripped his sides in pain as he felt his body become rearranged molecularly. A groan escaped from his mouth, as he felt his body suddenly surge with new power. His eyes began to itch before stopping. Kakashi panted as he fell to one knee.

"W-what did you d-do to me?!"

The Sage smirked.

"I've made you better, Kakashi-kun. What I have done is changed your body's DNA so that the Sharingan would recognize you as a full-blooded Uchiha. In more laments terms, I've made it so that you can use the Sharingan like any other Uchiha. You also get to keep both of the Sharingan's."

"What!"

But that's not all. I've also taken the liberty of increasing your Chakra pool and have granted you 2 Kekkei Genkai in order to give you an ability in case your Sharingan fails. I have given you the abilities of Swift and Storm release. What do you think of that, Kakashi-kun!"

"Sage-sama, wait! If I have both of Obito's Sharingan then how will he in the past have his right Sharingan eye work?"

"Kakashi-kun, when I changed your DNA, I have also changed your Sharingan. Both of your Sharingan's have become your own. Your left eye still has the Kamui ability but your new right eye has a whole different ability. I have given you the ability to use Tsukuyomi in your right eye. Also,as a result of my blessing your Mangekyou will not cause you blindness."

'That's Itachi's left Mangekyo ability if I recall correctly. And now I won't have to worry about my vision deteriorating.' Kakashi thought to himself.

"Now with your abilities out of the way, let's talk about your mission. What I want you to do is train my sons and everyone else enough to prepare for any threat too great. My mother is the least of your concerns. I want you to make the best possible outcome there is."

Kakashi got up from his kneeling position and bowed to Hagoromo.

"Sage-sama I will try not to fail you!"

"Good, now you may be thinking when will I transport you. With the amount of my Chakra, I can transport as far back as two months before you will be assigned to Team 7. Now I'll be transporting you. Good luck!"

Kakashi felt happy. He'd get another chance!

His body began to fade into motes of green light. He looked at his hands as they began to fade. He gripped his hand one last time. He looked to Hagoromo and said one last thing.

"Thank you, Sage-sama. Thank you!"

Kakashi finally faded, leaving Hagoromo to himself. The Sage smirked.

"I have no doubt you will repay me Kakashi-kun."
