Mixing his dislikes and likes was risky for Isabella's life but to Miranda, it was more like pushing Isabella to challenge him about his dislikes and likes.
And Isabella who had been listening to the lady's explanation nodded her head with a stern face. She had accepted the job as the view of the house explained how much she'd enjoy but was she going to live with her Master?
While the woman was explaining she pondered on the situation and suddenly got lost. "Isabella?" As if Miranda noticed her absence, she called her.
"Ma'am," when Isabella replied, Miranda now noticed that the girl didn't even know her name so she went ahead to introduce herself.
"I'm sorry, was I too fast?"
"No, no," Isabella shook her head. "I was just wondering if I'd be living... with your son since... I'll..." How to let out her statement without sounding desperate was unknown to her. She wasn't really desperate to live in a big house like this, Isabella thought that that was what the woman might be thinking so she tried to avoiding sounded desperate.
"Of course, you'll have to live with him... what if he needs you at night? Who will cater for him? And don't forget about the pay," Miranda clarified.
"Ohh, but I have my sister, she can't live alone," Isabella's face expressed more than her words.
"There are plenty of rooms, she can have one as long as you treat my son well. By the way, I'm Miranda, Miranda Powers," she then introduced herself as she had planned.
"Oh, yes ma'am. I'm Isabella Hunt," Isabella replied.
"My son's name is Luke and while working with him don't address him as master or sir or whatever formal name. Call him by his name."
The woman's words surprised her. "Isn't that going to sound disrespectful?"
"No, it's not."
Isabella stared into space for a while causing silence to take over. Soon, the lady announced that she'd take her around so she could know her way.
While taking her around, Miranda went deep into what her son likes and dislikes and also told Isabella to always watch him when he's playing games.
Isabella then wondered where the lady's son was. So the girl asked only to be told that Luke had gone to the gym.
After a long discussion with the girl, Miranda told Isabella to resume work on Monday as she'd be moving out tomorrow.
Isabella felt this weird new energy in her as she head back home, she was going to sleep on a comfortable bed and would eat better food and experience a new environment and that place was close to her sister's school so Mia would only have to use her legs to school. Those thoughts and imaginations excited her.
The next day arrived again and before Isabella could reach the hospital to visit her sister, she was told that there was a problem with her sister and that she had to pay another sum of money to treat her sister.
With that, Isabella had to use the remaining money she had from the one-night stand to treat her sister and the doctor assured her that her sister would be okay as long as she was treated.
But even after she talked to her sister and was assured, the fear still settled somewhere in her mind, causing a dull mood.
When Isabella got home, she saw that Mia had done the packing as she had told her about her new job.
Mia couldn't stay alone in that house so Isabella told her sister to come along until Hannah gets discharged from the hospital.
Miranda had moved out of her son's house that Sunday and had also told him that his maid would be resuming on a Monday morning so he should stay home for a while before leaving for work.
Luke couldn't refuse his mother, he wanted to see the maid and state her limits to her so the next day by seven in the morning, he sat on his couch dealing with his laptop when suddenly he heard the doorbell.
Mia had gone to school so it was just Isabella by the door waiting for her master's response.
Suddenly the thought hit her hard, she was going to meet the woman's son but what if he doesn't like that she calls him by his name or he wasn't as nice as his mother said?
No, no, she then told herself to stop her negativity and hope for something better.
Luke had told himself that if she doesn't arrive in five minutes, he'd go and play a game but seemed fate was against him playing a game before going to work so when he heard the doorbell, he didn't bother to check who was at the door as he was 100% sure that the person at the door was the maid hired to take care of him.
Pfft, as if he was a teenager.
His journey to the gate wasn't so long. In two minutes, he reached the gate and heard the doorbell again so he frowned at her impatience and pushed the door open.
Isabella didn't practice her words.
Luke also didn't prepare for his meeting with his new maid. He just opened the door with a dull expression that said he wasn't interested in knowing who she was and how she appeared, he just needed to state her limits.
Lifting his eyelids, he settled his eyes on the girl with brown hair. She also had dark eyes and wasn't tall enough.
The girl had this innocent expression because of her lips that wore a smiley expression. And the girl turned out to be Isabella.
Isabella had also turned to face her left only to settle her gaze on... Luke? His name was Luke? But why did it have to be him?
His mother had said something different about her impression of him. He wasn't nice and she dared not call him by his name because she could clearly remember his attitude toward her that night.
He was proud and arrogant, especially with his words. He even mentioned her father whom she had forgotten for years which had hit her hard as her current situation was because her father was poor.
With their eyes on each other, they wondered why the universe was so mean to make them meet only to share a relationship.
