Chapter 87 The Video.

The time flew by and soon it was time to depart from Sol as it was dangerous to stay any longer.

Simon's fleet rescued everyone they could find and salvaged all the provisions that could fit into the ships,even the Abydos was packed with stores and equipment that humanity would need to settle on another planet.

On Simon's orders the soldiers went to the sperm and egg banks to get as much genetic materials as they could to ensure the genetic diversity when they would recreate their species from less than a hundred thousand people.

This was actually Theresa's idea and it was a good one since they lost over 99% of the population and genetic diversity would become a problem sooner or later.

Right before departure Simon asked Athena to release the video that he recorded earlier.

He never thought that he would have to use this custom that he learned as he didnt want to be ignorant of the costumes and laws of his future wife's species.

Athena sent the video and made sure that it spread as much as she could so that the Federation officials couldn't censor or delete it before it reached as many species as it could.

She even had a little satisfaction while doing this because she didn't like Alesia much especially when she figured out that they were love rivals.

Now the pesky alien was out of the picture forever and she would have her chance as soon as she figured out how to create her own body.

She also knew that this video would hurt her rival as Alesia really loved Simon which was confirmed by her body reactions to his proximity.

However she chose to betray him and helped destroy humanity to the brink of extinction and that was something even Simon couldn't forgive.

-The video is uploaded and everyone in the Federation can see it.

Athena said with an emotionless voice.

She also wouldn't forgive Alesia and her people for what they did to humanity and to her own people as she was able to confirm the destruction of twenty two of the A.I that Simon found that day on the desert planet.

The rest of the A.I were with Mikael and Steuner so she wasn't alone but the loss of her friends hurt more than she had ever considered possible for her kind.

After the video was sent Simon gave the order and the fleet jumped out of the system.

Everyone left their loved ones behind and many people didn't even get a burial as there was literally not enough of the humans to bury their dead.

This grim task was left to the drones and droids that were left behind.

Simon's crew decided to sacrifice a few hours to bury their families and even Simon dug a grave for his grandparents ,two aunts,an uncle and his two young cousins.

He was the last one of his family that was alive,now he regretted that he didn't have more time with his family since he was always in space but it was to late for that now and the best he could do was to avenge them and he swore on their graves that he would not rest until the ones responsible for this massacre were exterminated.

He knew that it would take time for humanity to rebuild itself and be ready to take back what it lost,but once that time arrived there would be no mercy, only destruction and humanity was in a league of its own in that regard.

The best proof was floating in the Sol system as the human fleet managed to destroy more than half of the enemy fleet and that was after they were betrayed and lost their defense system.

Many humans that survived wanted to attack and burn the worlds of the alliance and the federation but Simon and other soldiers explained to them that they were not strong enough to do that.

If they attacked blindly to get revenge then they might succeed once or twice but soon enough they would be surrounded by enemy fleets and just like the Terran fleet they would be overwhelmed by shere numbers.

They needed time to rebuild and to ensure the survival of the human race before they got their revenge.

That seemed to calm the survivors as they also started to think about their species survival more than about revenge.

The fleet was on its way to meet with the remains of the Terran fleet and it would take them three to four days to get there as all the ships, even the repaired ones, were now equipped with new FTL drives and generators.

At the same time the video that Athena uploaded to the Federation version of the internet went viral especially after someone researched the Elani customs and laws and decided to add an explanation to the video so that everyone could understand the context of what it represented.

It soon reached the Elani who returned to their home system after betraying the Terran council.

They were not happy that Simon called them out on their actions and were shocked at the part in which he revoked the right of their princess to marry him.

This was a clear message that now she was not worthy of him and she never will be again.

The part that worried them the most was when he said that he would hunt them down.

The Elani knew that they were no match for the humans in a fight and if the remains of humanity wanted to destroy them for revenge then they had a reason to be afraid as they seriously doubted that the Federation would protect them.

The video also found its way to the palace and the empress wasn't very happy to see it especially since she got to know Simon well enough to know that he's threats were not empty as he never promised something if he wasn't sure that he could achieve it. 

The worst part was that he publicly accused them of treason and since she was a member of the Terran council for a short time she knew the punishment for what she had done.

Another blow was the Revocation of Alesia's right to marry him and he even destroyed her pendant which severely tarnished her reputation.

Liara was hoping that he would at least let them explain their circumstances before he judged them.

Unfortunately he saw their actions as a clear treason on a personal level as well as in the bigger perspective and she couldn't blame him for it.

She was responsible for almost exterminating his species,she did that to save her own people but knowing Simon he wouldn't care for her reasons especially when he learned that his hometown was destroyed and his family is dead.

Add to that the possibility that he was the last man of his whole country as Poland was razed to the ground on Irio's orders and the next time she sees him will be the time when he will kill her.

The video was most likely the result of the information that Alesia was to marry Irio and Simon saw it as a personal betrayal coming from the woman he loved and even fought for.

Even as Alesia's mother she couldn't blame him for his actions as she also learned many things about the human culture and especially about the value that Polish people put on their families.

All she could do now was sigh with regret as her daughter would be marrying the man she hates in a couple of hours while the man she loves, hates her to the bone right now.

Her thoughts were interrupted by a servant who rushed into her chambers in distress.

-Your majesty the fifth princess fainted and medics were unable to wake her up.

The servant reported.

Liara became worried immediately and went to her daughter's chambers.

-How did this happen ?

The empress demanded answers as she was walking fast through the palace.

-Your majesty,the princess saw the video that everyone is talking about and after she watched it to the finish she fainted.

The servant explained trying to keep up with the empress who was almost in full sprint at this moment.

Liara was worried about Alesia at this moment since she didn't know what she could do after seeing the video.

When she arrived at Alesia's room there were medics inside trying to figure out what was the cause of her unconsciousness as nothing they tried to wake her up caused so much as even a slight reaction.

She saw that the rest of her children were also present and had worried expressions.

The moment she entered the head doctor came to her and explained that he never saw anything like it and had no idea on how to return the princesses consciousness.

For now all he could do was to take her to the hospital and run some tests on her to see what was going on.

Liara approved and soon Alesia was transported to the hospital.

When she was carried out of the palace Irio saw her and demanded to know what was going on and why his future wife was taken to the hospital unconscious.

Inia showed him the video.

-She watched this and fell unconscious,the medics were not able to wake her up no matter what they tried so now she is taken to the hospital to run some tests and hopefully find out what is wrong with her.

Irio watched the whole video and he was shocked at Simon's knowledge about the customs of his people.

He also had to admit that he was afraid of this human as he did his research on him after they fought and he also knew that Simon wasn't someone who issued empty threats.

Irio himself was now an outcast from his own people's higher society as he lost the duel but was still alive so he was a disgrace for them.

The only reason he was still invited to the gatherings such as: parties,dances etc.

Was because he had the backing of the Federation and nobody wanted to cross him.

Another reason was that his body absorbed the stimulant and with some more medical help from the federation he was now as strong as a human so no one wanted to duel with him as it was a certain death sentence.

Now he was not only worried that the monster that defeated him would come back to finish the job but also exterminate his people for what they did.

It was now understandable why Alesia fainted but why wasn't she waking up?

He was sure that it had something to do with Simon revoking her rights to marry him as this was something that could never be taken back and even if she married Irio now than before the video she could have a glimmer of hope that Simon would come and kill Irio.

Then as a widow she could marry him.

However, now that everyone knew what she did,she became unworthy of him and would be shunned by all young Elani as a marriage partner.

Even Irio had his doubts now as if he married her now then his reputation would suffer another blow.
