Chapter 16 She created a monster.

 After Alesia left Simon was sad and quieter for a few days,every time he looked at her gift which he wore around his neck he remembered her parting words to him.

-You can return it when we meet again.

Mikael tried to comfort his young friend but it had little effect.

The thing that woke him up was the gift she left them on the data pads.

They contained star maps and they were translated to federation common language.

That meant that they could get back to earth and even find her if they wanted to and had a ship.

The chance to go home and to see her again was enough to get the young man out of his dazed state.

Soon they returned to their routine from before she arrived but Simon started to learn more diligently.

Now he had a purpose,now there was a goal in front of him.

-What are your plans?

Mikael asked one evening after their martial arts training.

-I need to learn as much as possible and master the technology that we find. I also want to figure out how all this works so I can repair it.

Then I want to find a ship that can be repaired and fix it up.

After that I want to go home and at least try to get our world to smarten up so that it can either be independent or join some larger power but for that we need technology.

Right now we are just sitting ducks waiting to be picked off.

And if i manage that then i want to go see Alesia and if by some miracle she isn't married yet or whatever they have in her world then i want to ask her to be my wife.

Mikael was stunned at the words of his young companion.

His goals became way more ambitious and if he managed to achieve all that then maybe just maybe he could be considered a suitable candidate for her hand in marriage.

-This is an ambitious project, and it would take a lot of time.

I don't want to discourage you but even if you can accomplish all of your goals it is not at all assured that you will even be able to see her, not to mention marry her.

Mikael liked a challenge but this was a bit over the top even for him.

-Do you have a better plan?

Simon asked with a challenge in his voice.

-Actually i was also thinking about escaping from here when we managed to find a working shuttle.

But my ambition ended with returning to earth.

You on the other hand want to unite earth and kick start a technology boom.

Not to mention turning our solar system into a mini super power on a galactic scale.

This is almost impossible and I doubt that the rest of the galaxy will just stand by while you do all that.

-First of all I plan to escape with as much knowledge as I can get my hands on.

Second,I want to find a military ship to escape in so earth can start building its own fleet.

Third There will not be another abduction when we return because anyone attempting it will get what's coming to them. Think about it, we are prisoners and this world is our prison.

Four, I believe that our arrival on earth will have to be done in the open so that governments can't sweep it under the rug.

Fifth, there is no guarantee that our planet will not be invaded by some galactic power just because we are almost defenseless.

Sixth, If I want to get the woman I love,Then First I need to come from a world that her empire would acknowledge as its equal.

Mikael was speechless again.

-You are a fool to go through all this for a woman,but sometimes a fool is what is needed to accomplish great things.

I will help you with your plan but under two conditions.

-What conditions?

-First I want my own star ship.

-And what's the second one?

-I want to be the best man at your wedding.

They both laughed at this.

-I accept your conditions.

-Then let's get to work as soon as this science vessel is charged up.

The next few days they studied the star maps Alesia left them while waiting for the ship computer core to charge up.

They found JK 18557 and also they found the Sol system. It turned out that they were quite a distance away from home.

Elani empire was also on the map and it was a small empire consisting of around a dozen systems while federation occupied a sizable chunk of the map.

There were many other smaller or bigger star nations.

They also found out that earth is located in the middle of unclaimed territory,far away from any neighbors, so if their plans worked then they could create their own star nation.

They both worked tirelessly to learn languages and they also started to disassemble some technology they found and make notes about their discoveries.

 Seeing their progress Mikael couldn't stop himself from smiling.

-That princess has no idea what a monster she had created.

He thought to himself.

Finally the day arrived when the computer core was fully loaded and Simon redirected the power to a terminal on the bridge.

They accessed the data and to their surprise it wasn't even protected by a password or anything.

Simon decided to use the captain's terminal to access the data as it had a comfortable chair created for some kind of humanoid.

The data was written in the federation's common language and he has been studying this language lately.

There was a search function and many sections such as xenobiology,chemistry,physics,engineering, and many more including weapons.

There were petabytes of data in this ship and it was close to his home so no one would drop anything on it.

-We have just found a gold mine of information about everything. I don't know how old this data is but it's decades or even centuries ahead of humanity.

Simon said with a smile.

-At least you can understand some of it. For me it's like magic.

The old man said after reading some data.

-We need to redirect the smaller power source to this terminal and the big one back to the computer core.

Simon suddenly said.

-Why? I thought that it was at full charge.

-It either uses a lot of energy or its batteries are damaged.

Simon pointed to a power gauge on the screen and it showed that the energy would be depleted in around 10 hours if he was reading it right.
