February 2004 Japan.
I started the day by going to have breakfast.
Going to the breakfast table, I said good morning to Mom, it's Megumi, and I went to talk to Dad. He usually stays in the living room watching horse races, he stopped betting after getting a good beating from Mom, to this day I don't know how, but he doesn't bet anymore.
Sitting next to Toji I said.
"Father, I have awakened my innate technique," he looked at me and asked, "And what exactly is your innate technique and what does it do?" I then explained the good and bad sides of my innate technique and how it worked. Needless to say, he was completely surprised by the potential of my technique. I literally have several techniques in one. I can be the container of several techniques. For example, a sorcerer uses fire. I can literally reach absolute zero with my Pisces familiar. Another example is another sorcerer who thinks he is untouchable and lets himself be attacked without worrying. I, in turn, have a Gemini familiar that can literally "DEVOUR DIMENSIONS," which of course includes space-time. It seems that someone will no longer be so untouchable.
(Who am I talking about?)
"Well, so you can only use one familiar so far? And it can control ice and water. In order for you to use your other familiars, you have to defeat them alone without outside help." "Yes, that's right, I can also use the incarnation of the fish familiar's power, which gives me full control over the familiar's ability."
"I see, your technique is very similar to the 10 shadows. So, do you want to start training today?" Toji asked me.
"Yes, I already have several moves that I thought I could use while using the incarnation."
Toji then told us to go to the forest that is a few kilometers from home so we could start training. Arriving at the forest, Toji attacked me without even warning. I didn't even try to summon the fish familiar because I knew that, in his current situation, he wouldn't stand a chance against Toji, so I used the only valid option in this situation.
"INCARNATION OF FISH" ♓
My right arm soon gains a light blue tattoo representing a large mermaid. I could feel the water present in the atmosphere and I also knew that the attacks I had in mind were possible. I had to stop my internal debates, because Toji was already in front of me with a common katana. From what I can see, I don't think he wants to use cursed weapons in this training. He quickly made a straight cut towards me, but I managed to get some distance and counterattack with a swing of my own sword along with the fish familiar technique. I made a series of 10 successive attacks with my katana, the attacks generated ice to increase the power of the sword strikes. "Karesono Shizuri"
I had the idea of adapting some strikes from Douma Upper Moon two, leaving my monologue again, because Toji managed to avoid the strikes and counterattack with several small throwing knives that he soon realized would be ineffective, since I quickly defended myself with my own attack.
Chiri Renge: swinging my sword in several different directions, along with the power of ice, I created several ice bars. Not missing the opportunity to attack, I launched an area attack to try to gain a small advantage.
Itegumori: A gust of wind generated by Hiroto's sword, which creates a cloud of ice particles, freezing objects that come into contact with it. It also spreads cold air that, if inhaled, could completely freeze and destroy the victim's lungs.
Toji stopped for a moment due to the cold that spread through the forest, and soon realized that he was having a little difficulty breathing.
Hiroto wasted no time, and immediately went after Toji with the first form of the moon breath.
Moon Breath First Form: Black Moon: Palace of the Night.
Hiroto made a 180° cut that generated small waning moons made of cursed energy. Toji, still feeling the effects of Hiroto's previous technique, took only 1 second to jump into the air to dodge the attack, but that short second was enough for some of the moons to hit Toji's legs.
Seeing that his son managed to injure him, Toji was momentarily moved by his son's ferocity and all the potential he has to be the strongest.
Hiroto, seeing that his father would have to land somewhere, quickly prepared another attack so that when he fell, the attack would be guaranteed to hit.
Hasuhagōri: Hiroto creates several ice lotuses to attack and trap his target.
Toji could do nothing, as he was in the air and had no support to dodge the attack. He could only make an X with his arms to prevent the attack from hitting his head. The attack took effect and Toji soon found himself trapped in walls of ice. It didn't take long for him to free himself, but this small gap in time gave Hiroto the perfect window for another attack.
Tsuru Renge: Hiroto creates an ice stormin the form of lotus petals, which he sends towards his target to tear them to pieces.
The attack hit Toji and injured his arms and legs. Hiroto watched his attack take effect, but soon felt the effects of using the incarnation without due care and was momentarily too tired to realize that Toji had broken free from the ice walls and moved behind Hiroto with his katana in hand.
Hiroto soon realized that Toji had freed himself, but he could not see that he was behind him, ready to make an attack.
Hiroto soon felt that his back was cut in several areas.
Toji then placed his sword to Hiroto's throat and asked if he would surrender.
"Yes, I surrender, you crazy old man." Hiroto had forgotten about Toji's ability to not be sensed by any cursed energy user. This was an ability he could not use, since he himself has cursed energy, and this goes against the technique itself, since to be imperceptible to a sorcerer's senses it is necessary to have no cursed energy.
"You did well, Hiroto, but you were careless with your surroundings and your blows used a lot of unnecessary cursed energy. You used almost twice as much as necessary to perform one blow, in other words, you have to improve your control of cursed energy."
For the next few months, Hiroto and Toji trained together, this served to bring father and son closer together.
