The Goodwill Event Part 04

Only curses can kill curses. This was already said in Episode 1.

As long as you use only physical energies whether they be mechanical, electrical, heat, light, or nuclear?? a curse cannot be exorcised completely.

The last one needs to be tested as it was never tested before.

Usually, to kill Cursed Spirits, you must use Cursed Energy in the finishing blow to exorcise them.

"But can I shave off its Cursed Energy? Yes."

All he had to do was damage its body when it's in its physical form and shave off its energy or immobilize it.

Unfortunately, he can't take out his missile launcher. After all, you know...the crows should be watching the semi-first-grade curse.

So, he settled with a C4 explosive.

While burying it underground, he only had to make sure that he was not in the vision of those crow shikigami of Mei Mei.

After shooting some bullets at the Curse which seemed to get its attention, all he had to do was lure it near the explosive and you get,

*BOOM*

"Wow. Maybe, art is an explosion," he admired the orange in it walking slowly toward the immobilized curse.

As the staff and other spectators were watching, he smirked at them.

Punching a few times with C.E-enhanced fists on its head, the Curse died.

"Yay. We won the first round," he shouted with a dull tone.

("Everyone, you can stop fighting now.") he spoke the message to everyone.

("What?")

("What happened?")

("Why?")

("I killed the main curse. We can have our lunch early.") Just as Mai said those words, there was a big wave of Cursed Energy passing throughout the central area.

("Or maybe not.")

As it settled, it was clear that there was something new that entered the event grounds.

'So, Hanami moved via underground which is why my Senses couldn't find him.' In general, Mai's senses got muddled up when the density increased.

Sensing underground for more than a few meters was exhausting.

("Kamo. It looks like something's near your area. Be careful. I'll observe from a distance and call back.") Mai said and cut the call.

'Now the thing I need to make sure of is that Gojo arrives at Mahito's location as early as possible.' After all, this whole thing was a distraction to get the Cursed Objects from Tengen's barrier.

Even though he didn't care for someone he doesn't know, he'll at least do whatever he can to make sure fewer people get a shitty death.

"Only if I can." He didn't consider himself to be like Itadori. He was somewhat like Megumi with a dash of Gojo's personality added.

As he was waiting, he sensed two others with Cursed Energy.

'One is around Grade 2 while the other is semi-grade 1.' Soon the Curtain formed.

"Mmm. This thing is tasty. I should probably leave some for everyone."

While Inumaki, Kamo, and Fushiguro were fighting for their lives, Mai sat down and started having the Toriko burger while looking at them through binoculars.

All he did was keep Hanami in his quirk's range, just in case he needed to help.

("What just happened?")

("What was that?")

("A curtain all of a sudden?")

("Everyone, there is a Special Grade Curse attacking us. It's extremely strong, durable and fast. We need some help here.") Kamo sounded desperate but he kept his voice low enough.

("Yeah. I can see. It looks like Todo and Itadori are coming to help. I'll call Utahime and inform our situation. Kasumi, is my sister with you?") Mai asked while munching on the burger.

("Mai, are you eating something?")

("Yes, a burger. Don't worry. I have some for you all.")

("What? How could you eat alone?")

("Your sister just came here. She wants to go fight the Special Grade but looks unsure.") Miwa replied.

'Did the fight affect her? Who am I asking? It's obvious.'

("Well, you heard her, Kamo.")

("What about you?")

("I'm not helping you with that thing. My bullets will fall off like tiny pellets. But I'll see what I can do.")

("Fine.")

("Looks like Todo and Itadori are coming in your direction. It'll take about a minute or two. Bye.")

The next moment, he called Utahime to inform her of the situation.

"Sensei, there is a special grade here. Where is Mr. Strongest?" he said in a playful voice.

"I can't break through the Curtain." It was Gojo's voice.

"Wait. It's in loudspeaker mode? Hmm. if YOU can't enter, then it must be specially made for you."

"You are certainly a perceptive kid. Now why don't you explain the situation?" Gojo asked.

"As far as I can see now, the special grade can communicate, it has wood or plant-based powers and about half as much Cursed Energy as you. There are two others that look like humans. Most likely the ones that put up the Curtain/veil."

"Hmm. What about others?"

"They'll probably live. But I have a question."

"What is it?"

"Won't it be easier for the curses to escape if they trapped you inside instead of keeping you outside?" Mai said

"That's true. There could be various other reasons though." Utahime spoke.

"Well, the most likely reason would be-"

"Distraction. Alright. I'll check it out. Utahime and you old man, you both go in." Gojo said and disappeared.

"What will you do, Mai?" Principal Gakuganji asked.

"I'll help others in the long range. Todo and Itadori are heading toward the Special Grade. One of the other two seems sneaky though. Be careful, sensei." he said and cut off the call.

"That kid. Be careful." She muttered slowly. She was happy that Mai got to become stronger but now, a new problem arose.

As Mai looked the other way, it seemed like they weren't able to deal proper damage to Hanami.

'Looks like I'll have to help.' But at the next moment, Todo and Itadori arrived to tag out Maki, Megumi, and Kamo.

'Nice. I can finish my burger.' He sat back and watched their fight like a live-action movie.

**Gojo's side**

Gojo, with his superior speed and perception, took a speed tour around the whole school within a minute or two.

"Looks like that kid was right," Gojo said looking at Mahito. He arrived the moment Mahito was about to get out of the warehouse.

'Did he already sneak in before they raised the Curtain? Tch.'

"Are you serious right now?" Mahito was not expecting Gojo to arrive this early.

"Can you bring these guards back to their original state?" Gojo turned completely serious when he looked at their state.

"Who knows?" he replied with his sadistic smile.

'This is bad. Real bad, I can only hope Geto's way out with those weird barriers can help me.'

Even though he was maintaining such an expression, Mahito knew that he was in a fucked up situation.

Before he could think of any way to buy some time, all his limbs twisted themselves and were ripped off.

Calmly, Gojo started walking towards him.

"Why don't you answer properly again? Can you or can you not bring them back?" In an instant, Mahito regained back his limbs.

Pushing out his hands and making them larger, he attacked Gojo but to no avail, his hands stopped just a few inches away.

"Tch. I really can't touch you. Then, *blergh*." He vomited tens of transfigured humans but Gojo didn't give him a chance.

"Did you think I would be as kind as my student?" A small red sphere appeared on Gojo's fingers that blasted away all those transfigured humans.

After throwing Mahito hundreds of meters away, he saw that the only change was a tiny decrease in Mahito's energy.

'So this is what Nanami was talking about. He reshapes his soul which in turn reshapes his body.'

And as a Special Grade, it can use its own Technique to a highly proficient level making it require very less Cursed Energy.

"Then there is only one choice."

Since Gojo didn't have any attacks that can attack souls, he came to a few decisions.

Gojo could use Purple to destroy Mahito's whole body. The other option was to bring Mahito into his Domain.

But he gave up on both of those options as the first option was not a surefire attack. Mahito could change his body's size and avoid getting killed.

The second option of getting Mahito into his Domain was also a problem because there might be someone watching him out of his Six Eyes perception.

He didn't want to get caught off guard and the moment when the Domain Expansion is over was a vulnerable moment.

The conclusion he reached was that he had to just destroy his body so much that Mahito won't have any Cursed Energy left to use his Technique.

'This time, I won't let any of you get away.' He didn't want to give even the slightest chance.

As he didn't give any chance for counter-attacks, he kept squeezing out the juice in him. Literally.

He twisted Mahito's whole body to a pulp. And then to a pulp again. And then to a pulp again. And again.

It required Mahito to use [Idle Transfiguration] constantly just to keep up with Gojo's attacks.

And slowly, his Cursed Energy kept plummeting. As it reached the minimum, something suddenly happened.

"[Frost Calm]"

As he was about to teleport behind Mahito, a large layer of ice formed throughout the area. It seemed much tougher being enhanced by Cursed Energy.

"What the! Where did she come from?" Gojo was surprised. His blindfold was off yet he couldn't detect her until she activated her technique.

'A Curse user? he? she?' Still, it was only a moment before he blitzed through the ice. All the ice shattered in his path as he teleported to their location.

But to his surprise, he got stuck in a weird barrier. Within two seconds, he broke out with sheer power but both of them disappeared.

"..." This time, Gojo really got worried. Not only were there new Special Grades but also Curse users?

"At least I got these from him," he said looking at three fingers and two containers.

"I should get back to Yuji and others." Without waiting, he disappeared in a flash.

"Now get off of me." Uraume dropped him on the ground like a sack of bag.

"You don't have to be so rude," he said playfully.

'Gojo Satoru. Looks like he won't play even for a moment. Even if physical attacks are pointless because of my Idle Transfiguration, Cursed Energy is used up for my Technique.'

Normally, it would be pointless to make him run out of Cursed Energy(as he is a Special Grade with a ton of Cursed Energy.)

But Gojo kept damaging his body continuously for the whole period of one minute they were fighting. Mahito had to keep his Idle Transfiguration ON all the time, and still, his limbs were chopped off like nothing.

"Did you get everything?" Uraume asked with his usual blank expression.

"No. I lost three fingers and two objects."

"Useless." he showed a disgusting expression before leaving off.

"Rude. How was I supposed to attack him? I can't use Domain Amplification yet." Mahito shouted but Uraume didn't respond to his words.

Shrugging off, Mahito went along with him.

"Are we going to wait for Hanami or not?" Mahito asked Uraume.

"Not after you were discovered. Still, he should be able to escape with his powers, right?"

"I hope so. If Gojo is as serious as he was now..."

--*In the veil*--

("So, how was the fight?") Mai asked Kamo playfully.

("You didn't even help!") Kamo was certainly not happy listening to Mai's tone as he was being carried on Mechamaru's back while Megumi was carried away by Panda.

("Hey! Hey! I need to wait for the right moment. There's no point in giving away my presence.")

Even though Mai said that, he was itching for an actual fight. Looking at Todo and Itadori fighting, a small spark lit up in Mai.

'The best time would be after Itadori lands his consecutive Black Flashes.'

Unlike others who just see black, Mai thought his senses might help him in gaining some understanding after observing Black Flash from a different perspective.

He started getting near and near while maintaining his vision via binoculars.

It already looked like Itadori landed his first Black Flash and Todo was using his Technique.

"I guess it's time."
