When God, or Mic as she called herself, said that I would be reborn, I had not expected this outcome. I think I should reintroduce myself.
My name was once Michelle, my name now, is Ash Ketchum.
I was born into the family of the main character of the show against all odds. Mic merely said I would be born near Oak, not that I would live next-door to him in Pallet town. Though it makes it easier to pester him for information and learning from him.
He also seemed to have the impression that i want to be a researcher myself, but I immediatly told him I wanted to travel the world and see as many pokemon and sights as possible. He was of course a bit dissapointed but quickly got over it and started to tell me about the pokedex. Maybe in hopes that I would bring one since I wanted to meet many species of pokemon during my travels through the regions. I had no problem with this of course, even though I wouldnt need it because of my system that activated at the age of four. My system had the functions I asked for and more. But it wouldnt tell me more before I started my journey.
Since I was born, my mother Delia seemed to think something was up with me since I developed more like a girl than a boy. She took me to the professor, but all he could say was that my genes were the reason. Since I was a girl in my previous life, I had no problem with this, I also had a theory yhat it was to make me feel more normal, you know, as normal as reincarnation is. This also gave my mother a reason to dress me up. No problem here, I embrace it.
I often ran over to Oaks lab to learn and play with the pokemon there. Oak was a bit nervous, but once he saw how friendly the pokemon were with me, he instead used this opportunity to study our interactions. This also became a habit over time.
--------------------------------------Third persons POV:--------------------------------------------------
Ash often learned about pokemon from professor Oak to learn about these mystical creatures. This was also where Ash first met Gary. At first glance he seemed like a nice kid, but with time Ash saw how truly arrogant he really was. He did not have a good impression of Gary Oak.
He also went to Oak`s lab to learn about this world since God said there were differences since it now was a real world and not a kids show.
One of the things he found out was that trainers now had to be thirteen before leaving for their journey. This was a law made so that the fatality rate of children went down and parents could feel safer knowing their children were out there.
Another thing was that kids could get their first pokemon at a younger age, they just couldnt leave for the league challenges before they were thirteen.
---------------------------------------End of POV----------------------------------------------------------
I was now seven, and Oak was holding his yearly camp. This camp is made so that kids can get a better understanding of pokemon, wild or not. He also taught us about camping, cooking and other usefull topics. Kids from many regions come each year to attend this camp.
Many kids vere excited to go and Ash was no exception. Ash spent the whole night reading up on what they were going to be taught, only to freshen up his knowledge. This went on until morning when Delia went to wake him up.
"Ash, its time to get up." I heard her and looked at the clock. I hadnt even realized that it was already morning. The time on the clock said 06:45, and the camp started at 07:30 so I hurriedly went to take a shower. When I got out, he got dressed in some shorts and a tank top to help with the summer heat. Over the years I had let my hair grow out, so I put it in a ponytail. When I was finished I went down to greet my mother.
"Morning mom." I exclaimed happily seeing my mother.
"Morning honey. Ready for camp?" She asked me.
"Of course mom! I have been waiting for ages to go, but I was never allowed to." I said while pouting with puffed cheeks. My mother just chuckled and poked my cheeks.
"You couldnt go until now because of the rules. Its so that the kids are old enough to understand what they are teaching you." She explained.
"I know, but you know I`ve always been smarter than others my age."
"That might be true, but what would the other kids think if they saw a kid so much younger than them, while they had to wait?" She asked in a lecturing way.
"I know, I know." I sighed out while finishing my breakfast.
"You got everything?" She asked me.
"Yeah mom. I got it all."
"Good, then I will see you in a few days."
"Sure mom. see you." I quickly said, then gave my mom a hurried kiss on the cheek and ran out. I had afterall only about 15 minutes left to go to the lab.
When I got there I could already see Gary among other kids standing with Oak waiting for the kids from other regions. I ran up to Oak and hugged him.
"Morning gramps." I said while hugging Oak. After spending so much time in his lab with him, I started seeing him as a grandfatherly figure. He always acted like one so it fit well with him.
"Haha, morning there Ash. Ready for an exciting week?" He asked me.
"Of course I am. Learning is the best after all." I smiled up at him while saying that. Oak looked surprised for a moment, then smiled softly as if he remembered his own youth. We started seeing the busses in the distance and let go of the hug so Oak could look a bit more professional.
As the kids were disembarking the vehicles, I could clearly recognize some of the faces among them such as Goh, Chloe, Serena and even Misty was there. I thought that it wouldnt hurt to start making friends with them as we would all most likely meet in the future after I start my journey around the world.
"Alright kids. Welcome to this years Pokemon Camp here in Pallet town. For those of you that come from other regions, welcome to Kanto, and I hope you enjoy your stay. Now, to start this camp off, I believe we should start by setting up your tents. After that, come see me so that you recieve trackers so you can roam the area." Said Oak.
"Yes professor!!!" The kids yelled in chorus.
I quickly got my tent set up and started walking to Oak. On the way I saw many that had troble putting up their tents, so I decided to help. Among them were Goh, Chloe and Serena. Misty was simply too stubborn to ask for help, so I just shrugged my shoulders and walked towards Oak.
"Hey gramps, I`m done with the tent." I told him.
"Impressive as always Ash. Now take this badge and put it on your shirt. Inside is a tracker so that we can find you if you get lost." He said as he handed the badge over. I took it with a smile and put it on the front of my top. Once that was done with I started walking towards the forest surrounding the lab. The further in I went, the more sounds of pokemon I could hear. I always enjoyed these sounds ever since I was born in this world. There was something comforting about them.
I continued walking for a while until I reached the big tree that you could see even from outside the forest. I was always curious about its age and had even asked Oak once. He hypothesized that it was easily around 250 years old. Just thinking of living that long gave me shivers. I was happy enough with a human lifespan.
As I walked up to it, I began running my hand across it while walking to the other side. When I reached the other side I noticed something lying near the trunk. It was white. I walked up to it carefully in case it was a hostile pokemon, but I had nothing to fear as I came up close. I could clearly see what it was. It was an egg. As for which species, I had no idea.
