If this is just a coincidence, it think it is too accurate.
Princess and Miguel are siblings. They are both friends of my brother (and I didn’t know about it!). Both of them are my classmates. And both of them are also fans of Point9.
I need a moment to absorb everything.
“How come I didn’t meet you even once?” Princess joked which made Miguel laugh.
“Terrence said his sibling doesn’t like to meet strangers.”
I pouted. “You guys are making fun of me.”
Princess giggled. “Sorry! It’s just too funny to pass.”
“You’re being mean,” Miguel defended and smiled at me. I think my cheeks turned red.
Princess, still smiling, questioned her brother. “Anyway, why are you here? You should be… somewhere else right now.”
Miguel suddenly turned serious. “Change of plans.”
“Still, you should be there. Go now.”
Miguel looked confused. “But I just got here.”
“Because you don’t need to be here in the first place, dumdum.” Princess insisted. “Besides, I’m going to take Sabinna home.”
“You don’t have to, Princess. I’ll just call our driver.” I declined.
Princess pouted. “But I want to spend more time with you.”
Miguel scoffed. “You’re such a clingy friend.” Princess just rolled her eyes at him.
“Let’s just message each other.” I suggested. Princess agreed.
“Then let’s just wait until your driver arrives.” I nodded. Princess, still smiling, looked at her brother. “And you should go.”
Miguel just frowned at his sister. “I told you—”
“Please.” I felt a slight tension between the siblings. Princess suddenly looked serious, same with Miguel. It’s like they are talking about something important.
Miguel stood up. “Fine. You guys be careful.”
“Alrighty, sir,” Princess mocked a hand salute to him.
Miguel smiled at me and waved. “Bye, Sabinna!”
“B-b-bye!”
Fuck, why did I stutter?
I looked back at my cup of ice cream when he left. I saw from my peripherals that Princess was looking at me.
“Uhm, thank you for treating me.” I said and looked at her. She looked serious for awhile but then she sheepishly smiled after.
“No problem! I want to spend time with my new found friend.” She giggled. “Gods, I still couldn’t believe that you are Kuya Terrence’s little sister. Our brothers are really good friends.”
“Looks like it.” I nodded. “Where is Miguel going, though?”
Princess finished her cup of ice cream before answering.
“Responsibilities.”

When I got home, my brother was already there with his girlfriend Ysa. They were watching Netflix while a box of pizza was on the table. My brother is clinging to Ysa and shouted when something scary appeared on the screen. Ysa just laughed.
“Such a scaredy cat.”
“I told you I don’t like horror movies, babe!”
“You should get used to it! If we’re getting married in the future, we will watch horror movies every night.” She teased and kissed his cheek.
“Christ Jesus, no please.”
I rolled my eyes at them. Do I have to witness all these cheesy act every time?
They looked at me when I sat beside Ysa. I grabbed a slice of pizza, ignoring the horror movie in front of me.
“Welcome home!” Kuya Terrence said. I grimaced.
“The fuck do you want?”
He laughed out loud. “What? I can’t welcome my little sister?”
“Stop teasing your sister, babe,” said Ysa. She took the remote and paused the movie. “It’s her first day being a college student. She must be tired.”
“Being tired is an understatement,” I said and chewed on my pizza.
Despite that, it was fun. I met Princess, a fellow Point9 fan, and Miguel.
I suddenly remembered Miguel and his smiling face. Why the fuck is he in my mind the whole day?
“Well it’s an improvement that you are out of your cave the whole day.”
I rolled my eyes. “Shut up.” Kuya just laughed.
“I heard that Miguel was your babysitter?” Ysa asked, amused.
I frowned. “It’s Kuya’s idea.”
Ysa laughed. “And it almost failed because Terrence thought that Miguel harassed you.”
My brother scoffed. “I’m protective when it comes to my family. I don’t care if he’s my friend or not.”
“But you overreacted, babe.”
I shook my head. “It’s actually my fault. If I cleared things up, there wouldn’t be any… fight.”
Ysa tapped my cheek. “No. If Terrence just informed you that Miguel will accompany you then you wouldn’t feel uncomfortable. So it’s your fault, Terrence,” and faced my brother.
He frowned but didn’t argue.“ Fine. It’s my fault. Did Miguel make you uncomfortable again?”
“Nope,” I replied. “He’s actually friendly.”
And he’s mesmerizing…
The way he smiles, he talks, he walks, he looks at me.
I blushed with the thought. Sabinna, what are you doing?
“Good. If he makes you uncomfortable again, just tell me.”
“You almost punched him babe so I don’t think he would.” Ysa chuckled.
They continued watching the movie as I walked to my room. Uncomfortable, huh…
He’s making me feel uncomfortable. But in a different way.
I shut my eyes. Am I having a crush on him? Just like that? But we just met!
No, no. Maybe I just like his smile. That’s all.

I took a shower before heading to bed. It’s just 8pm but I’m already sleepy as heck. Going outside really drains my energy, what more if I do this everyday?
Just thinking about the whole school year exhausts the hell out of me.
My phone rang. Princess is calling. I took my earbuds and answer the phone.
“Hello?” I answered, suppressing my yawn. Damn I am already sleepy.
“Heyow! You still up?”
“Yup.” I said and smiled. “What’s up?”
“Nah, I’m just bored. Let’s talk about random stuff!”
I giggled. “Are you always this excited about talking with someone?”
“Depends. I just find you reliable in some sort.”
“Reliable?” I laughed. “What do you mean by that?”
“You look like someone who is ready to listen despite all the nonsense I’m going to say.” She giggled. “Plus, I’m just excited to know that you are also a Point9 fan.”
“Point taken.”
We indeed talked about random stuff. Princess is a cheerful girl. She never ran out of topics to talk to. I’m glad that she didn’t mind if I don’t have anything to say. She said that she understands introverts like me.
“No way… Are you serious?”
We’re now talking about the incident where she ditched her date one time.
“Yes way!” she laughed out loud. I couldn’t help but to laugh, too. Not because of the incident, but because her laugh is infectious.
“Why did you do that?” I asked, still laughing.
“He’s boring. When I had the chance to go to the comfort room, I decided to leave.”
“That’s still rude, you know.”
“But it’s more rude if I fell asleep in front of him.” She said matter-of-factly. “After that, I haven’t entertained any suitors.”
“Hmm, must be nice to have a lot of suitors.”
“Not at all. What if the one you like doesn’t like you back? All those suitors are nothing.”
I pouted. “Why do you suddenly sound serious?”
“It’s because you asked something serious!” and giggled. “How about you? Are you single?”
“Yep.”
“But why? You’re pretty and kind and smart and everything nice!”
I grinned, blushing. “That’s an exaggeration but thank you. I just don’t feel like entertaining someone, I guess?”
“What if somebody wants to court you?”
I took a pillow and hugged it. “Hmm, it still depends…”
She went silent for awhile. I thought the call has ended but I could hear a song playing on the background.
“Say… If my brother wants to court you, decline him.”
I almost choke at what she said.
What? Why? Did she know that I’m crushing on Miguel?
Fuck, wait! I have a crush on Miguel? What’s with the sudden realization, Sabinna?
I looked for the right words to say but I just stuttered. “W-what—I mean, w-why would he court me in the first place?”
There’s a pregnant pause on the other line. I suddenly felt nervous. Did she notice the way I look at Miguel? Or do they have some weird sibling connection and she felt that someone has a crush on her brother?
Is there even such a thing?
Why am I overthinking?!
She sighed and I could feel my heart beating fast.
And just like that, disappointment runs through my system.
“Just… don’t let him, okay?”
