Chapter 4: Black Wings

Elisse's POV

Fairy Chandelle left with our classmate Freya. All of us were left here inside the classroom and had no idea where fairy Chandelle and Freya were going.

"Oh crap. It's happening." Suzy said.

"Come on, let's go out too." Said Venice.

"All right. Do you want to get in trouble?" Suzy asked sarcastically to her.

"Damn? What happened at the Fairy Garden?" I asked them.

Suzy immediately looked at me. "You do not know?"

I shook my head at Suzy because I knew nothing about the Fairy Garden.

"The Black season. The Black Wings are coming." Said Suzy.

"Black Wings?" I asked. What are those Black Wings? I've never heard of them.

"BLACK WINGS!" My classmates shouted and pointed at the window behind us.

I was about to look what's behind us but Suzy and Venice suddenly pulled me under the table. I heard the window shattered and something or someone had entered... A human? No.

"Who-"

Suzy immediately covered my mouth.

"Don't make any noise. They'll hear you." She whispered in my ear.

I can see six feet. That means there are three of them and they walk slowly here inside our classroom. We remained silent as we observed them walk.

I saw one of my male classmates hiding under a small table. I could see in his face that he was scared. Our eyes met and he was asking for help. I feel sorry for him. I do not know what I will do. He was shaking and crying.

I saw a Black Wings heading to his direction. I can't see what the creature looks like. She has a long black hair and the size of its black wings are huge. That's why they are called Black Wings. Why are they here? What is their purpose?

"Help..." That guy tried to keep his voice down.

Fine. I will help him.

I was about to get out of my hiding place but Venice suddenly stopped me.

"They will kill you. They will eat you rather." Said Venice. Is she scaring me?

"Look at our classmate, he's really scared. No one will help so I will do it for him." I said.

"No. You don't know what kind of creatures they are." Suzy said. What is the problem with them? Are they cowards?

"It's up to you. I just want to help him." I said.

I no longer had second thoughts. I went out of our hiding place.

"Hey you! Whoever you are, leave!" I command.

At once the three Black Wings turned to me. I was shocked and petrified where I was standing.

What are they? They have no eyes, no nose, and no mouth. Their faces are pure white.

Terrifying. I wish I hadn't come out earlier. I really regret it.

The three of them went slowly to where I was standing. What is going on? I can not move.

Crap! This will be the cause of death? How unfortunate. They are so close. A little bit more steps. I can already see my death.

I just closed my eyes. I can't look at them anymore.

"Stay away from her!"

And here. I'm still alive. The Black Wings were all lying on the floor. Surrounded by their black bloods.

Someone saved me.

Suzielette's POV

Elisse is really stupid! She almost died earlier because she did not want to listen to me and Venice. The Black Wings are really dangerous. This lady is really ignorant.

Here we are at the clinic again. Elisse is really, really, really stupid!

Elisse and I are not that close to each other but I can say that she is a fool. Fortunately, someone saved her. Who is that again?

"I'm Prince Harold Ruby." He introduced himself.

That's right, a Prince saved her.

"Uhm, thanks for saving our friend earlier." Venice said to the Prince. She was just staring at for him the whole time.

Prince Harold just smiled in response.

Venice sat beside me and suddenly held my hand tightly.

"You go with your Prince Harold. I will take care of Elisse." I told her.

"What are you saying there?" Venice asked.

"Oh nothing. I'm just talking to the wind." I said sarcastically to her.

"Fine. I only talk to a Prince once, you still even forbid me." She says.

I just stared at her. I would really hit her face. Has she forgotten the past of her family and the Ruby family?

"Really, a vampire like you?" I asked.

"What is the connection between being a vampire and forbidding me to talk to a Prince?" She asked.

I pulled her over and whispered in her ear.

"Didn't you hear what he said? He's not just a Prince. He's the son of the Ruby family. Maybe you forgot." I told her.

He looked at Prince Harold sitting on the other couch. Sleeping.

"I already forgot that for a long time. I've moved on from what happened." She said sadly.

"Stay away from him. For your sake. And for all the vampire's sake." I told her. She looked at me. Her eyes. It got teary.

"But I love him." She said.

I kept my face straight after what she said.

"Is that how you react?" She asked.

"I don't know about you. You are always talking about love. You will not get satisfied there." I told her.

"All right. Consume all the bitter gourd in your place. You are bitter." She said then she went out the clinic.

When Venice left, Prince Harold suddenly woke up. He almost fell on the couch he was sitting on.

"Is she awake?" Prince Harold asked.

"Yes. She's awake. She just closed her eyes." I said sarcastically to him.

Such a fool. He already saw that Elisse is still asleep.

"You're rude. I know what's on your mind. You should respect me. I am a Prince." He says.

"I'm sorry. There is not a word like Prince that exists for me." I told him. I do not know the word Prince. What is it?

I saw Elisse's hand move. Prince Harold immediately approached her. Elisse did not die. Just almost.

"You're awake." He said to Elisse.

"Altherine." Elisse said as she caress her head.

Altherine? Who's Altherine? I've heard of that name before but who is she?

"Altherine? Who is she?" Harold asked. From now on, I will no longer call him a Prince.

"Nothing. I forgot already." Said Elisse.

"Wait, who is he?" Elisse asked me while pointing at Harold. Ah, he is a Prince. He just looks like a foot.

"He's the one who saved you. Harold Ruby—"

"Prince Harold Ruby." Harold corrected.

"The Black Wings, where are they?" Elisse asked. Gosh, you almost died Elisse because of the Black Wings, why are you still looking for them?

"They're gone. They're dead—"

"I killed them to save you." Harold said again. I'll hit this guy on his face! I'm annoyed already.

"Ah... What about Altherine?" Elisse asked again.

"Do you remember again?" Harold asked her.

"Oh. I forgot. Who is she?" Elisse asked.

"I don't know. I just heard of that now." Harold replied.

"Hey, will you please go out first? We'll just talk." I command Harold. He stared at me like he's choking me to death in his mind.

"GO AWAY." I repeat. He immediately got up and left the clinic. Good thing he is obedient.

"Where did you find that word Altherine?" I asked her.

Her head bowed and she seemed to be thinking.

"Uhm. I don't know. I just suddenly thought." She says.

She just suddenly thought about it? Don't tell me...

"Maybe you're thinking of someone? A girl." I said.

"Come on. I'm not a lesbian." She says.

How could she just suddenly say the word Altherine? Is that a person? Who?
