Chapter 1

On the unknown mountain range, sunlight shined through the gap between the trees into the deep canyons. Roars of beasts can be heard, and on the valley's surface stood a magnificent but basic hut. The beasts have occupied the area outside of the hut. Inside the hut lay a person.

Jaune Arc is a strapping young lad with a mop of blond hair who practically screams, 'I woke up like this.' His blue eyes carry a mix of determination and occasional cluelessness. In terms of physique, he has a tall and sturdy build that suggests he can handle himself in a scrap. He usually dons the Beacon Academy uniform, which consists of black suits lined with gold, accompanied by a blue vest and a white shirt with a red tie; however, the one he has is modified with armor plates for protection and a symbol of a golden arc on his chest, proudly declaring his status as a member of the Arc family. Overall, he's the kind of guy you'd want on your team when facing down the creatures of Grimm.

Please make no mistake—he was not always like this. Before he arrived in the hut he resides in, he was a noodly person who you would mistake for someone who can be carried off by a strong gust of wind. Nevertheless, he is now part of the Ten Thousand Races World Wars.

What is the Ten Thousand Races World Wars, you might ask? It is an ancient and very dangerous game of the multiverse. Those who have not participated aren't aware of it, but there are exceptions. There is a reward that allows you to tell your family and friends about it. However, they must swear never to reveal it to anyone else, or Heaven's Divine Punishment may strike them.

From that alone, you must have realized that this is a game created by a Divine being. However, it is not as cruel as you think. Yes, you can die in the game, but it was a choice given to the people who became participants. None were forced. Additionally, with every fight you win, you get a unique ability and a benefit to the world you've originated from. This can be anywhere from a powerful ability to increasing the world's resources, whether livestock or the depleting Dust mines, for example.

As for Jaune, he came here after he was kicked out of Beacon when Cardin snitched on him. His friends were sad to see him go, and they promised to keep in contact, which they did until he came to this world. His friends were worried about him as he hadn't replied to their messages.

"I still have another few days before I can contact the others," said Jaune. He looked at his scroll, which had an infinite battery. "I bet the guys back in Remnant would be jealous that every device I own would have infinite battery."

Jaune stood up from where he was lying down and grabbed his weapon. It was time for him to go on a hunt.

The Ten Thousand Races World Wars is a point-based game. The more beasts you kill, the more points you'll get. You may think that is not so bad. Wrong! Because you can kill participants in your area and gain massive points. More points than a hundred beasts would give. Therefore, the more bloodthirsty races would go after participants over the beast.

Jaune thought, 'Status,' and a screen appeared before him.

"It seems my Aura is back to full," said Jaune. It has been a few hours since he started resting to recuperate his Aura. "I see that the talent also increases the speed of my Aura recovery. When I came here, I was told that I would be awakening between one to three talents, but I awakened three, not that I'm complaining. I'm quite lucky, I guess. Plus, I originally only had 240 Aura and 300 GP, but thanks to the talent I received, it increased by a hundred times."

[100x Increase (Passive/Active): The ability to multiply any action as if you've done them a hundred times. One push-up is equal to a hundred. There are exceptions. One can't multiply the act of going number one and two. GP (Active): 100]

[Endless Extraction (Active): The ability to extract. It can be done to remove impurities in metal, extract an ability from weapons to make your own, or extract diseases. Your imagination is the limit. Skill extraction – 1%. GP: 100]

[Divine Domestication (Active): The world's oldest and most mysterious godly pet-taming skill. With extraordinary powers, there's even a chance to tame a Mythical Beast. GP: 100]

[Divine Mining (Passive): The world's oldest and most mysterious godly mining technique. It has the power to change something rotten into something magical. Effect: Allows the user to harvest herbs of all types. There is a 100% chance to trigger a critical hit and the collected quantity x10. There is also a 10% chance to improve the quality of the herbs]

'Endless Extraction is why I could gain strength very quickly,' thought Jaune. He remembered using the ability on a carcass he found and extracted its status. 'It was good and all, but if I do it too much before my body acclimates to the sudden increase in strength, I risk killing myself. Plus, I may gain the strength, speed, and whatnot of the beast, but my body doesn't change. I still need to train to properly utilize the status I extract without harming myself. Also, depending on the materials of items, I can only do one extraction.'

'As for 100x Increase, it has given me a way to rapidly train my swordsmanship, survival instinct, and others by multiplying my experience by a hundred times.' Added Jaune. He remembered how grateful he was for getting such amazing talents. 'As for the other abilities, they are great! Thankfully, I could extract them from participants who had been killed or from Beasts I'd killed, which were then upgraded by the 100x Increase. Do I feel bad about taking the ability of the dead participants? I do, a little bit, but I need to survive. Plus, they're dead. They no longer need it.'

Jaune squeezed his fist. Even though he was strong in the context of Remnant, in one of the stages of the Ten Thousand Races World Wars, he was still weak.

There are many 'games' in the Ten Thousand Races World Wars. Battle Royale, Tag Team, Beast Hunting, Tower Defense, Capture the Flag, Time Attack, Dungeon Diving, Race War, etc. Each game can hold 10,000 participants per dimension, lasting for a month.

Looking at his points, Jaune was smiling. He had a fantastic cheat in hunting games since you gather points as you kill the beasts, and he gets a hundred times the usual points, thanks to his talent. He may not be the strongest in the competition, but he is the quickest at gathering points, at least when it comes to people not hunting down participants.

As he was pondering his next action, he raised his sword and blocked an attack aimed at his head. With trained instinct, he already knew there were people following him with the intent of killing him for points. He looked at his surroundings and smiled. There were eight of them, and they were mostly sword users with a single gunner.

Three of the sword users surrounded Jaune, with the others hiding in bushes to ambush him in case he defeats the three. He sighed. This is not the first time he was surrounded like this. With a swipe of his sword, the three that surrounded him had their head cut off. The others realized that they messed with the wrong person, but they were not given mercy. With incredible speed, Jaune cut off their head. Lastly, spotting the gunner, he threw his sword and struck the neck of said gunner.

Looking at his kill Jaune did not have any compassion at all.

"The way you people surrounded me shows that you have this countless times. It is best you die before you can harm another," said Jaune. He looked down at the group and searched for anything useful they might have. What he found were healing potions that can be purchased in the shop. It was nothing too fancy, but very useful.

As he finished looting, he used his Endless Extraction to absorb their stats. He showed mercy once, but not again to people who have no problem killing with a smile on their faces.

'The original plan was to kill some beast to gain some points, but killing those PK'er gave me more points than I could have gotten by going through with my original plan,' thought Jaune. Since he was able to gather all the points quota he wanted for the day, he had free time, which he planned to use to search for new armor and weapons within the shop.

'Crocea Mors has given its best until now, but it is time to retire it before it gets any more battle damage.' Thought Jaune. Looking at the worn-out sword, he sighed. Even the shield/sheathe was ready to give out at any moment.

'Even after all the enhancements, I still have to retire it. It makes sense since the other's weapons far outstrips mine. Some have very advanced light-based weapons. Others have weapons with mythical properties. I should be glad that Crocea Mors was able to hold on until now,' added Jaune. He was grateful for the family heirloom for it has protected him from the beginning till now.

Jaune stored Crocea Mors in his inventory and opened the shop.

'It's time for some new upgrades. Just because the Ten Thousand Races World Wars: Hunting Game is about to end is no reason to be careless and relaxed. If anything, this is the time that everyone would be pushing themselves to get as many points they can in the remaining time.' Reminded Jaune to himself. Clicking on the shop, he went straight to armor.

Looking at the list, there were many selections to choose from, but some of them were hilarious to look at even if the effects were amazing.

'Seriously? A clown armor that can summon many props with different effects?' thought Jaune. He checked the description and the props the clown suit can take out were amazing. For example, there was the balloon trick, which when tossed the enemy would explode, or if you made a balloon animal, it would summon it and aid you.

'But the design is appalling,' thought Jaune. It would be good to use if you want to catch someone off guard since they would most likely not take you seriously.

Scrolling further down the least, he continued searching for armor that fit his aesthetic and had great effects.

"Man! This shop would probably give Coco a heart attack since there are so many cool clothing." Said Jaune. He misses his friends.

"I wonder how Velvet and the others are doing? I hope that jerk Cardin is not harassing her anymore," said Jaune with slight anger. Whenever he thinks about Cardin, he gets pissed.

"Tsk! I'll just continue searching for what I need, I can deal with Cardin when I get back to Remnant." Said Jaune. He shook his head and continued his search.

Finally, Jaune was able to find something that he liked a lot. It had great design and amazing buffs. It was called the Lord of Apocalypse Armor. It was silver overall with some red and black. It was a set armor, which means it comes with all the parts and a sword.

(Lord of Apocalypse Armor and Sword)

"Now! This is an armor I can dig! Let's see…" Said Jaune. He then clicked on the description of its buffs. He was happy with it and decided to buy it. Such an armor was worth buying.

"Let's see how much more insane this armor can be once I enhance it?" said Jaune. He exited the armor shop and clicked on the enhancement option. He then placed the Lord of Apocalypse Armor in the slot and looked at how much it would cost.

"Not as much as I would have thought. GP: 1000 and HP:1,000,000. Quite affordable," said Jaune. If there was anyone that heard him, they would have fainted. Everyone starts with GP: 300 and the only way to increase it is to win some of the games.

As Jaune enhanced the armor, he was happy. As always, when he enhances something, it would automatically be +100 rather than +1. Taking out the armor from the slot, he checked the new armor buff and effects.

{Increased Durability: The armor becomes more resistant to wear and tear, increasing its lifespan and effectiveness in battle.}

{Enhanced Protection: The armor provides greater defense against damage, such as slashing, piercing, and magical attacks.}

{Improved Mobility: While maintaining its protective qualities, the armor is made lighter and more flexible, allowing for greater freedom of movement for the wearer.}

{Elemental Resistance: The armor gains resistance against elemental damage types such as fire, ice, lightning, and poison, providing added protection in diverse combat scenarios.}

{Reflective Coating: A special coating is applied to the armor, causing a portion of incoming damage to be reflected back to the attacker.}

{Regenerative Properties: The armor possesses self-healing capabilities, slowly repairing itself over time to maintain its integrity during prolonged battles.}

{Energy Absorption: The armor is equipped with technology to absorb and convert incoming energy attacks into a resource that can be used by the wearer, such as mana and stamina.}

{Magical Amplification: The armor enhances the wearer's magical abilities, increasing spell potency and reducing casting time while worn.}

{Environmental Adaptation: Armor buffs that protect against environmental hazards such as extreme temperatures, toxic atmospheres, and radiation, allowing the wearer to traverse hazardous terrain safely.}

"Nice! Those are insane buffs! This should do for the last couple of days here. Now, for the sword, which came with the armor," said Jaune. He placed the sword in the slot for enhancement and he clicked enhance. Once it was done, he took it out and checked the buffs.

{Dragon Slayer: Infuses the sword with ancient energies, granting it unparalleled potency against draconic foes. When wielded against dragons or creatures of draconic origin, this enchanted blade glows with an intense, fiery aura, resonating with the innate power of the dragons it was designed to vanquish.}

{Dragon Blood Empowerment: As the wielder fells more dragons in battle, the Dragon Slayer sword absorbs their essence, growing in power and resilience. With each dragon slain, the sword's enchantments deepen, further enhancing its effectiveness against these formidable adversaries.}

{Ultimate – Dragonification: Bestows upon the wielder the essence of dragons, granting them a taste of draconic power and resilience. When activated, this enchantment triggers a transformation, temporarily imbuing the wielder with draconic traits and abilities in exchange for temporarily losing the sword.

Effects:

Draconic Form: Upon activation, the wielder undergoes a dramatic transformation, assuming aspects of a dragon. Their appearance may change to resemble that of a dragon, with scales, wings, claws, and even a draconic visage. This transformation not only instills fear in foes but also enhances the wielder's physical prowess and resilience.

Draconic Breath: With the Dragonification buff active, the wielder gains the ability to unleash a powerful breath attack reminiscent of a dragon's own breath weapon. This attack can take various forms, such as fire, ice, lightning, or acid, depending on the wielder's affinity and the type of dragon from which the buff draws its power.

Flight: Grant the wielder the ability to take flight, soaring through the skies with the grace and speed of a dragon. This aerial advantage allows the wielder to maneuver around the battlefield with ease, gaining strategic superiority over ground-bound foes.

Limited Duration: While immensely powerful, the Dragonification buff can only be sustained for a limited duration before the wielder reverts to their original form.}

"That was a lot, but very informative. The ultimate would be quite useful, but it seems like I won't be able to choose which type of dragon I transform into. That would be a problem since I won't know if it would give me an advantage or disadvantage depending on the situation," analyzed Jaune. Nonetheless, it is a powerful trump card.

Like a child that just got a new toy, Jaune left his hut and dawned his new armor. It was amazing! For a full armor, it was lighter than the armor he had at Beacon. It was not impeding his movements in any way. Jumping and leaping was not a problem at all.

Jaune dashed into the woodlands which was not far from the canyons. He went deeper than he had ever gone. He knew that the deeper one entered, the more powerful the beast, but the more points it would give, more so for him thanks to his 100x increase skill.

Seeing a beast in front of him, he bisected it with ease. Something that even the enhanced Crocea Mors would not be able to achieve. Another beast approached, then another, then another. This was the danger within the deeper parts of the woodlands, the beasts would be ready to ambush those who enter. However, it was not a problem for Jaune. With a sweep of his blade, many of the beasts were felled with ease, making him rack points faster than ever.

"The sword is larger than Crocea Mors, but it has the same weight. I guess, this is the benefit of legendary or mythical materials. The physics of it doesn't make sense, not that I care," said Jaune. He smiled and the beasts before him shivered. They wanted to run, but it was too late.

As Jaune was enjoying his new armor, a participant from afar saw him and decided he was easy prey. Why? Because Jaune was surrounded by beasts within the woodlands. Everyone knows that it is best to be above the tree within the woodland to avoid the pack of beasts that are waiting to ambush you. With this thought alone, he thought it would be easy to kill Jaune.

With immense speed, he jumped across trees to get to Jaune, when he was close by, he leaped one last time with more power than earlier, he readied his blade and struck Jaune in the neck. He smiled as he saw the man before him twist, and then he saw a headless body. However, his eyes went wide when he realized that the armor was eerily like his.

'Oh, the man was not the one upside down, my head is,' thought the man before he lost the light in his eyes and his bodiless head fell to the ground.

Jaune already felt the man. His sense was much sharper than it was before. His hunting and training have paid off and it was all thanks to his 100x increase. He smirked and left the body alone. He did not use his Endless Extraction since it would have been a bad idea. He needed to further acclimate to the stats that he already extracted. And to do that, the best way is to continue hunting.

Further away from Jaune were other participants who watched the man who tried to kill him. They were far more experienced than the man who died. With their instincts alone, they knew Jaune was bad news for them. As for others, they recognized the armor from the shop. Only those who are veterans of the game would be able to afford such a set since it would require GP that was beyond them.
