It Might Be You, My Darling [Volume One Completed]

Which SECRET will you keep for the rest of your life? She wakes up without a recollection of the other night's event. Krishna was horrid as realization hit her one morning. She had a one-night stand with a stranger! Why did she end up in the bed naked, pain searing all over her body, and no sight of her companion last night? As she could not comprehend what happened to her, memories of last night disappeared without a trace, whereas memories from the distant past resurfaced and muddled her head greatly. ‘What is going on? Why do I remember nothing, but I could recall some events during my childhood?’ What mystery surrounded that night, and she could not fathom being in an unfamiliar place without recollection? ~ “I want you to break up with him!” said the dude, who appeared out of nowhere. ‘The audacity of this man?’ She was pinned to the wall, and the crazy guy yelled this in her face. “What are you talking about? Do I even know you?” she snapped, glaring at the stranger. ‘Who is this guy? I don’t know him at all!’ She only wanted to enjoy the vacation she won over the lottery. However, she was being attacked by gorgeous men out of nowhere! “Who are you?” another man who blocked her in the hallway asked. “Huh? Isn’t I the one supposed to ask you this question? Who are you? I am certain we have never met before.” Even though she snapped at him, the man seemed confused by her answer. “Is that so? Then? Why do you keep appearing in my dreams?” Krishna was rendered speechless. ‘I thought this joke was outdated! Someone has still had the thick face to use for advances!’ I think I’m going crazy one of these days! First, I was mistaken for someone’s mistress. Now, I am somebody’s girlfriend. She Never Remembers Me

There is no reply from George but silence. All Krishna could hear was the loud beating of her heart.

'Why did he kiss me?'

She reached her lips and felt slightly swollen. She hadn't realized that the kiss was actually long and passionate.

'Why didn't I push him away?'

Krishna gritted her teeth. She was fretting as she recalled how she sat still while George kissed her.

Now she was pondering whether to knock on the bathroom door or leave—the latter she chose.

Krishna marched toward the door when it was pushed open by someone.

'Who could it be?' she panicked.

She doesn't want to be caught in a man's bedroom. At that very moment, she wished for the floor to open and swallow her after recognizing who it was.

Wearing a silk dress, the style was too sultry for men's eyes. She regretted not putting on a robe. Just now, she realized that her appearance was like a seductress vixen.

"Krishna?"

"Hey, Rowan..." She partly nodded to hide her embarrassment, pursing her lips with an awkward smile.

"Why are you here?" As he asked Krishna this, his eyes swept the entire room, searching for his brother's silhouette. "Where is my brother?"

"He… Erm, he was in the bathroom." Her eyes blink innocently. But in her head, she prayed not for Rowan to misunderstand this situation.

'Well, why am I concerned if I was in George's bedroom? If I am not mistaken, he declared I was his official girlfriend. Although I didn't agree with him yet, I can use this excuse for my convenience.'

Having this thought, a displeasure spread in her chest.

'Am I really allowing myself to be a paid woman?'

"Rowan… What's up?"

The bathroom door opened before Krishna regained her senses, and George emerged inside. Now he is wearing a lower pajama but leaves his upper body bare as he proudly displays his eight-pack.

Krishna stared at George in dazed, and Rowan noticed this. His eyes shifted back and forth at the two, guessing if something was going on between them.

"Umm…" Now Rowan has forgotten why he came to George's bedroom.

Seeing Krishna wearing such a sexy night dress to a man's bedroom could mean one thing. His brother only wore a lower pajama, and he knew well that George took off when he went to bed.

At that moment, jealousy sprouted in his chest.

'Are they falling in love with each other? Isn't it too fast? Or is it because George has everything from looks to money and power? Now Krishna wanted to cling to him?'

The scene is ambiguous for him why he had this conclusion. All women wanted to hook up with his brother, but no one he allowed to get close to him, even those wealthy daughters from the same status as theirs.

Yet Krishna, from an unknown background, had the luxury not just to hang around his brother but even share with him in the same bed.

"Let's go to my office."

Rowan was pulled out of his deep thoughts when George spoke. He blinked, then nodded.

"Okay, George."

As he turned around, instantly, his face became grave. He took significant strides out the door; then, he heard George instructing Krishna about something.

"Go to bed now. We have to be early at ANNAs." After saying this, George followed Rowan and shut the door.

Watching the man's broad back disappear once the door shut, Krishna was confused.

A while ago, he chased her out of the room. But then, before he left, he was pointing at the bed while saying those.

"What does he really want to happen?"

There was no way that she would stay here after George kissed her.

Krishna returned to the bedroom upstairs and locked the door. She slipped inside the blanket and covered her face.

'Gosh! Why do I not remember when I made love to George's father?'

Even though everything was blurry, it should have left a few memories in her head.

'But all I can remember that day is my head felt like splitting into two and my body aching all over!'

Meanwhile, in his home office…

George sat behind his office table while Rowan took one of the two chairs across from him.

"Did you find anything?" asked George. He only tried to keep calm, not for Krishna to notice any abnormalities in his mood tonight.

If those mercenaries were directly after him, he had already tortured them with his own hands.

Being asked, Rowan shook his head as he replied,

"Those mercenaries were too loyal to their Sect. Even so, no other active organization at this moment is against the reformation of the Mafia Association."

"It's them… But we cannot pinpoint as their organization spreads worldwide like ours."

"You're right. They opposed and declared rebellion to the Emperor, as they didn't want to be controlled and heed the International Law," said Rowan.

George narrowed his gaze and pondered something. He has been trying to bring down this smuggler syndicate that affects his business. He succeeded in conquering a few of their territories.

However, there is more to acquire, and he could only do that one step at a time because of the new law implemented by the new Emperor.

'George Mendez… Is your gang attacking Krishna tonight? Heh. What would you feel after knowing I slept with your fiancee and we have a son together? I wish it had happened when you were still alive!'

"Don't worry, George. Our men did not stop tormenting those men since they wouldn't speak. Besides, the Association did their own investigation."

George snapped himself from deep thoughts and focused on Rowan's report. He uttered, "That's good, then. I'm glad the Emperor is helping us out."

"Yes. It was a big mistake for those bastards. It happened inside their main territory. They were bold enough to do such a plot."

"Indeed. How ridiculous of them. What if Krishna is just nobody to me? Isn't their effort gone in vain? Hah." The corner of his mouth lifted as he blurted out.

George's notion surprised Rowan. 'Then? Does it mean that he and Krishna…?'

Krishna seemed not just simply a woman staying by his brother's side. Does she already occupy a space in his heart?

'Isn't George in love with Stella? Is he serious about Krishna? Or is she only his plaything?'

Objection surged in his chest. Rowan lowered his head, contemplating whether to share the things bothering him.

'I want to pursue Krishna. Would George allow me?' From what he sees, something is happening between his brother and Krishna.

A man and woman were sharing a room. Isn't it obvious what is about to happen?

"Go, take some rest now." This time, George's tone is gentle.

"Okay."

George had already dismissed him before he could speak his mouth.

Rowan opened his mouth but could no longer voice out his plan. He stared at George, but the latter was already busy with some documents; then, he phoned Dillion.

Now that his brother started working, he should not disturb him.

"Good night, George." Rowan got up from his chair with his head hanging low.

"Hummed…" George was engrossed in checking the documents on his table; thus, he didn't notice Rowan's abnormality.

Once Rowan left his study, Dillion entered and placed more documents on the table.

"Sir?"

"You're here…" George picked up some documents in his drawer, handed them to Dillion, and said, "I want you to attend the lunch meeting with the Dale Enterprise Executives tomorrow on my behalf."

"Alright." After Dillion took the document, he placed the document underneath the TAB he held in his arm. "Anything else, sir?"

"Hummed. I want to take a day off tomorrow. So I also want you to meet with the mayor on my behalf."

"Okay. Note!" Dillion typed on his TAB, inputting the appointments he had to attend tomorrow.

While doing so, something came up from his bank memory.

"Sir, Master Lin Wei is visiting M Country, and he chose your resort to stay in since nature surrounds this place. Chairman Crow had arranged everything already. Would you like me to book an appointment with him?"

"Huh? Why should I do that?" George, who was scribbling his signatures on the documents, invested with no interest in this Master Li Wen.

Dillion, standing in front of the table, was stunned. He blinked and then pondered. 'Should I remind him what he ordered me last time?'

He could not decide, but Dillion believed it might be right to do so since his boss and Krishna had a son, and they were together now.

"Sir, erm… Maybe you would like to redo Miss Palermo's memory since you've met again."

Now that Dillion spouted nonsense, George put down his pen and looked up. With knitted brows, his pupils constricted, intently stared at Dillion.

"What are you spouting now?"

"Eh? So you have also forgotten about that, sir?" Dillion could feel the beads of sweat forming on his forehead when his boss shot a blade at him.

'Am I wrong to mention it? Although I buried that incident in my future grave… Who knows that they were actually fated to cross paths again and even have a son that tied their lives.'

"Speak!" George was in no mood to read Dillion's mind nor guess what was running in his head. He shoots a dagger at the poor guy, intimidating him downright.

"Well, sir… After you sleep with Miss Palermo, you arrange for someone to hypnotize her so she forgets she had a one-night stand with you. Master Lin Wei who…"

"What did you say!" With round eyes, George was in great disbelief.

'Is it why she never remembers me?'
