It Might Be You, My Darling [Volume One Completed]

Which SECRET will you keep for the rest of your life? She wakes up without a recollection of the other night's event. Krishna was horrid as realization hit her one morning. She had a one-night stand with a stranger! Why did she end up in the bed naked, pain searing all over her body, and no sight of her companion last night? As she could not comprehend what happened to her, memories of last night disappeared without a trace, whereas memories from the distant past resurfaced and muddled her head greatly. ‘What is going on? Why do I remember nothing, but I could recall some events during my childhood?’ What mystery surrounded that night, and she could not fathom being in an unfamiliar place without recollection? ~ “I want you to break up with him!” said the dude, who appeared out of nowhere. ‘The audacity of this man?’ She was pinned to the wall, and the crazy guy yelled this in her face. “What are you talking about? Do I even know you?” she snapped, glaring at the stranger. ‘Who is this guy? I don’t know him at all!’ She only wanted to enjoy the vacation she won over the lottery. However, she was being attacked by gorgeous men out of nowhere! “Who are you?” another man who blocked her in the hallway asked. “Huh? Isn’t I the one supposed to ask you this question? Who are you? I am certain we have never met before.” Even though she snapped at him, the man seemed confused by her answer. “Is that so? Then? Why do you keep appearing in my dreams?” Krishna was rendered speechless. ‘I thought this joke was outdated! Someone has still had the thick face to use for advances!’ I think I’m going crazy one of these days! First, I was mistaken for someone’s mistress. Now, I am somebody’s girlfriend. Maybe tomorrow, I will become someone’s wife. Great! How ironic would that be!? ~ Chapter Release Schedule: TUESDAY - THURSDAY - SATURDAY (This book is under massive editing.) Let's Meet Tonight

"Yes, she is."

My eyes shut almost immediately after Dillion confirmed my suspicions. 'So it was her.'

Clenching my fist, bewildered at what I was supposed to feel at that very moment. Dillion noticed I was in a trance. He inquired, "Are you okay, sir?"

"I'm fine." Nodding my head, I murmured in a low voice. But since Dillion had a long way before he finished his report, I waved my hand to urge him to start. "Continue..."

"Okay, sir. Krishna Palermo is the fiancee of George Mendez. The man who plotted to assassinate you countless times."

"Oh… But, in our last encounter two years ago, I killed him instead." My left brow rose upward as I sneered in my heart.

Cutting Dillion's report, I recalled the times I was in danger because of that man.

George Mendez is a criminal organization member that competes and interferes with my operation in Southern Europe.

Because I am resolute in fighting back, and the leader of the Southwestern Europe Organization wanted me dead. The person they sent me was a man named George Mendez, my once best friend in Elementary.

"So? What do you think of Krishna Palermo? Is she aware that her fiance is a syndicate member and a criminal? If so? Does she come here for revenge?"

After what happened a couple of years ago, I could not stop having this speculation. Now I seemed to understand why she approached Florian. In comparison, my cousin is such a weak man. He allowed that woman to sweep him on his feet, and that girl succeeded in seducing him.

"Well..."

Dillon coughed, pulling me back from drifting my thoughts somewhere as memory flooded my head. I drew myself back to the present and listened further.

"Sir, in my further investigation. Krishna lived in the Municipality of Mirada, Spain, and attended E University in Caseres City."

"Is it?" My brow pushed upward. I had a base in the northwest. I can send more men to investigate further.

"Yes, sir. It was the same university I attended before I took a master's degree. But I already graduated before she entered the university."

"I see..." I nodded, rubbing my chin as I pondered how to deal with her. "What else?"

"After she graduated, in that same year, she signed up in an Academy and learned to be a patissier. In fact, she had a small cafe back in her town. Many tourists visit Mirada to see the famous ruins in that part of the province."

"So you were saying she is a pastry chef?" I found it fascinating.

"Kind of, but she is not the one who baked those breads and cakes they sell."

"Okay..." I'm not interested to hear further about that part. I was more intrigued by what lies George hid from his fiancee. "Then how about during the time George Mendez is alive? Does she not know his real identity?"

"It appears she is not, boss." Dillion's response to me. I stared at him to convey that I wanted him to explain.

"I have a niece and a sister of my college classmate that had the same course as Miss Palermo. According to them, Miss Palermo is a reserved person. She focused on her studies and worked a part-time job on the night shift, so she doesn't go partying at night."

"Is that so?" I watched as Dillion nodded his head. I am not convinced. There must be more, and I could smell something about her. Perhaps she is here to take revenge on me.

Suppose it is true that she is a timid girl and loyal to her fiance. She would not seduce Florian and wrap him around her finger. Unless for one reason.

'She's disgusting!' I felt uncomfortable, and at the same time, curiosity crept into my heart every time I could recall I had slept with her before.

"What is your next step, sir?"

Dillion appeared anxious, waiting for my answer. I looked at him and said, "For now, keep someone monitoring her 24/7. I want to know who she meets and talks to. Maybe she will become a bridge to her fiance's boss."

"Are you thinking George Mendez's boss might use Miss Palermo to avenge you?" Dillion had this speculation as well.

"Yes. If she had information about me, then the person she would attack is Stella. I'm such an idiot to invite Stella to come. I'm only putting her life in danger. But I will not allow Krishna to hurt Stella. If only you witnessed how Stella stood for that woman! Stella was not listening to me. She would rather hang out with her than be with me!"

Dillion scratched his temple. He appeared to have something to tell me but could not share whatever was on his mind. I hate being kept in the dark, and I don't want to make a guess, either. "Speak."

"Sir… What would you do if we found she is actually harmless and has nothing to do with her fiance? What if she is truly innocent?"

"Innocent what? After she seduces Florian, could you still dare say she is innocent?"

Dillion shut his mouth and did not reply to me. I hurled a long breath and waved my hand. "Alright. That's all for now. I don't need to instruct you on caring for Leonard Green. You can leave now."

Dillion Javier nodded and left. I stayed in the private room, ordered a full course set of dishes, and ate alone.

Later on, as I left the restaurant, I learned from my bodyguards, who kept an eye on Stella. She did not agree to leave without Krishna. Instead, she invited her to go to a spa.

At first, I was opposed, but later on, I realized it is better to let the enemy fall into the trap rather than let them roam free. If Krishna strikes soon, then the earlier I will catch her.

Having this thought even intensified my desire to punish her. She sleeps not only one Graham but two!

The next morning…

KRISHNA'S POV

It was a long day yesterday, but I am glad I agreed with Stella when she invited me to visit a spa.

Stella wanted to treat me, but since Anna had already booked me into the most grandeur spa in the city; thus, I rejected her offer. Then, when we returned to the hotel, I was relieved when Crazy George was nowhere to be found until this morning.

I woke up early to start my day early as well. After I showered, I began to unbox the clothes and shoes Anna had sent to the hotel.

Now that I was a brand ambassador, I browsed the internet all night to learn how it had been done. Hence, I watched other fashion icons' posts on their social media accounts.

Although I hate doing sexy poses and appearing sweet in my photos, I have had to change my style since I accepted this job.

I tried on a few sets of clothes and took a photo of myself in front of the mirror. I could not decide which one I should post. I almost gave up since I started feeling exhausted from doing the different postures and taking the best angles; still, I could not decide which was nicer among the photos I'd taken.

"Why don't I message my Fairy Godmother, Donny?"

There is no better judgment than him.

[Good morning, Godmother! Are you out of bed yet? I sent you a few photos. Please, help me choose the best one to post on my Instagram. TY!]

I thought I had to wait the entire day before receiving his reply. To my surprise, he stormed my inbox with praises and advice.

[Dear, I love all of them! Just dump them on your profile.]

'Huh? What did that mean?' Although I sent the ones I think are the best for me, I was in amazement that he wanted me to post the twenty of them.

[Godmother, I only need two or three... Please help me pick the ones you think are best.]

I waited for five minutes before I received an answer. Finally, Godmother Donny made a decision.

[Anna and I both agreed these were the best.]

Now I know why it took him a little while to return to me. He actually asks Anna's opinion on the photos.

I only need three photos, but pick up five. So in the next few minutes, I posted the images. Then Stella phoned me to meet her in the dining hall on the 28th floor.

I thought it was just Stella and me to have the morning meal. I did not expect Florian, Rowan, Dillion, and Crazy George were also dining.

It isn't a pleasant setting for me. I was the outsider who joined their pact for breakfast.

Yes, I'm thinking of a sarcastic joke because Florian probably doesn't want to be at that same table, and Crazy George does not welcome me from joining them.

It was early morning, and these people were exuding nobilities.

I'm glad I chose to wear the white knitted long-sleeve paired with a high waist short and double-breasted blazer vest—also, a red stiletto and beret on my head. I do not look out of place with this group of gorgeous people.

It is embarrassing to be with these people if I look like the ugly duckling among them. Especially since another pretty woman was dining with them and appeared flirting with George the way she leaned so close to him.

'Who is she?' I'm intrigued because Crazy George has this terrible expression on his face. He looked like he had eaten a spoiled dish and wanted to vomit.

"Hey, Krishna!" Stella waved at me, so I waved back. Her five companions turned their heads in my direction, and suddenly I felt like retreating and heading back to my suite.

"Hi." I squeezed a smile to show some confidence. If I escape now, I have no face to appear in front of them later.

"Hey, darling! What took you so long?"

Before I reached the table, Crazy George met me halfway, and it surprised me when he hugged me suddenly.

"Now start working." He whispered into my ear that scaring the hell out of me.

"What do you mean?"

"Just do as I say." He shot me a warning look. I felt helpless.

'What did he say to me?' I'm lost. I don't want to ride his drama.

"Check your inbox." George let me go and ushered me toward the chair next to him. In fact, he kicked out the other woman heartlessly.

'He is certainly cruel! How ungentlemanly!'

I could not dwell on my irritation as this man began to boss me around. I checked my inbox, and he actually sent me a text a while ago.

[Pretend to be my girlfriend. I am paying you generously.]

To my annoyance, I typed furiously on my phone but did not display it on the surface. I was about to send this draft:

[I would rather stay poor than accept your money!]

But then Camilla's message popped up on my screen.

[Let's meet tonight.]
